Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural nation, faces serious challenges due to rising religious intolerance and radicalism, which demand effective strategies to reinforce religious moderation. This study aims to identify, synthesize, and analyze the contributions of the Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah (Aswaja)-based pesantren’s religious and social practices in constructing the architecture of religious moderation, focusing on Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Ulum Panyeppen in Pamekasan. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research explores the lived experiences and interpretations of religious actors—including kiai, ustaz, senior students, and community members—through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and institutional documentation. The findings reveal that the pesantren effectively translates Aswaja values such as tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), and tawazun (balance) into its curriculum, preaching methods, and inclusive social relations. This confirms that traditional pesantren can act as transformative agents, adapting to pluralistic realities while reaffirming Aswaja as a theological foundation for religious moderation in Indonesia. The study offers a locally rooted praxis model of religious moderation with relevance for both academic inquiry and public policy development.

Abstract

This study intends to investigate the extent of the influence of location and brand image on students' interest in transacting at BRI Kanca Sungai Penuh. The research found that location positively and significantly influenced students' interest in transacting. This contrasts with the brand image, which has no effect on students' transaction interest. However, location and brand image have a positive and significant impact on student interest in transacting, with location being the most influential variable affecting student interest in transacting at BRI Kanca Sungai Penuh. After considering the study's findings, it's clear that the brand image has a relatively low impact on students' willingness to transact. Before using a company's products, students should acknowledge the company's brand image, especially consumer and service firms. This is attributable to the fact that a company's image reflects the quality of its products.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the response of the growth of sweet corn plants and weed density to the treatment of bio-fertilizer based on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and cow manure fertilizer. The study was conducted using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) in a factorial pattern. The first factor was arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) consisting of four doses, namely without AMF (A0), AMF 5 g/planting hole (A1), AMF 10 g/planting hole (A2), AMF 15 g/ planting hole (A3). The second factor was cow manure fertilizer con-sisting of three doses, namely without cow manure fertilizer (B0), cow manure fertilizer 3 kg/plot (B1), cow manure fertilizer 6 kg/plot (B2). The treatment applied consisted of 12 combinations of treatments with 3 replications, so there were 36 experimental units. The observed variables were plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and weed density. The results showed that the average height of sweet corn was best at 42 DAP in the treatment of cow manure fertilizer 6 kg/plot (B2) as 111.6 cm. The average highest of stems diameter was at 14 DAP in the treatment of cow manure fertilizer 6 kg/plot (B2) as 0.40 cm. The average leaf area of sweet corn was at the age of 28 DAP was highest in the combination treatments cow manure fertilizer 6 kg/ plot (A0B2) and without AMF as 894.5. The weed species with the highest density found was I.cylindrica as 0.5-32.4%, C. kyllingia as 1.3-41.8%, C. rotundus as 1.3-30.3% and F.miliaceae as 1.2-12.7%.

Abstract

Red ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe var. rubrum) and angkak (Oryza sativa) are used in traditional chinese medicine to improve body health. Both are known to have immunostimulatory activity that increases phagocytic activity of macrophage. This study aims to determine the phagocytic activity of the combination extract of red ginger and angkak using carbon clearance method. Combination of red ginger and angkak (7:3) was kinetically macerated in ethanol 96%. Twenty white mice were divided into 5 groups, such as control group (CMC-Na 0.5%), positive control (Levamisole 2.5 mg/kgBB), and three experiment group that was given red ginger extract (105 mg/kgBB), angkak extract (105 mg/kgBB), and combination extract of red ginger-angkak (150 mg/kgBB). All treatments were given orally for sevendays, consecutively. The phagocytosis index (IF) value was determined on day 8 by injecting carbon intravenously and immunostimulant activity was shown if IF>1. The highest IF value of three extracts was shown by combination extract (1.2489±0.0261) compared to red ginger and angkak extract, mentioned 1.2030±0.0448 and 1.0537±0.0254, respectively. Moreover, the IF values of combination extract and red ginger were significantly (p<0.05) different compared to the control group of CMC-Na (IF=1). However, it is significantly (p>0.05) lower compared to the levamisole group (1.5187±0.0534). It could be concluded that the combined extract of red ginger-angkak showed the greatest phagocytic activity against male white mice compared to extract of red ginger and angkak itself.
