Abstract

This study aims to investigate the resilience of vocational high school students from divorced families as they encounter life challenges and make career decisions. Employing a qualitative intrinsic case study approach, the research involved students from divorced families as the main participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with participants and their significant others, supported by document analysis, and analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. The results reveal five key themes: parental divorce, coping dynamics, sources of resilience, career choices, and factors influencing career decisions. The findings indicate that resilience is influenced by emotional regulation, stress-coping strategies, attachment figures, self-control, gratitude, and optimism dimensions that correspond to the concepts of "I am," "I have," and "I can." Career choices, meanwhile, are influenced by family heritage, childhood experiences, parenting patterns, and personal needs. This study provides a novel contribution by integrating resilience theory with career development perspectives in vocational education contexts, particularly among students affected by parental divorce. The results highlight the importance of resilience as a predictor of adaptive capacity in career decision-making. The implications suggest that educators, counselors, and schools should design targeted intervention programs to strengthen resilience and facilitate career readiness among students from divorced families.

Abstract

This study aims to deeply analyze the role of the implementation of industrial class programs in Vocational High Schools in improving hard skills, soft skills, and graduates' work readiness through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study was conducted using the PRISMA framework and utilized the Publish or Perish database to select relevant articles. A rigorous selection process resulted in eight primary Indonesian-language articles that met the inclusion criteria for comprehensive analysis. The study results indicate that research on industrial classes remains relatively limited, with a significant increase in publications only occurring after 2022. The effectiveness of this program is influenced by several important factors, such as close partnerships between schools and industry, curriculum alignment with workplace standards, educator competency, facility availability, and ongoing training and internships. However, challenges such as limited resources, curriculum synchronization, and suboptimal industry commitment remain major obstacles to its implementation. Overall, the findings of this study confirm that industrial classes play a strategic role in developing students' technical and non-technical skills, while also serving as a bridge between education and the workplace. This program has significant potential to strengthen the competencies and increase the competitiveness of vocational high school graduates in the modern industrial era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the diversification of learning models that strengthen employability skills among students of Vocational High Schools (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan; SMK) based on scientific publications published from 2015 to 2025. Vocational High School (SMK) graduates are expected to master technical competencies while also possessing 21st-century skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, digital literacy, and leadership, to adapt to the demands of the business and industrial sectors in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, following the PRISMA Statement protocol, to select and analyze relevant articles published over the past decade. The results of the review indicate that six main learning models support the improvement of employability skills, namely Project-Based Learning (PBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Work-Based Learning (WBL), Teaching Factory (TeFa), Blended Learning or Flipped Classroom, and Cooperative Learning. Each model provides a distinct contribution: PjBL and PBL strengthen critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration skills; WBL and TeFa enhance adaptability, professional communication, and technological literacy; Blended Learning emphasizes digital literacy and learner autonomy; while Cooperative Learning reinforces interpersonal communication, teamwork, and leadership. This study concludes that no single learning model can comprehensively accommodate all aspects of employability skills. Therefore, the diversification and integration of various learning models during the 2015 to 2025 period becomes an essential strategy for building a vocational education ecosystem that is relevant and responsive to industry needs
