Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of work posture on all activities of workers who produce coco fiber in CV. Sumber Sari is located in Lembengan Village, Jember Regency. The production processes that are currently operating are the jockey, drying, sieving, and pressing processes. Work activities are carried out repeatedly, causing complaints to workers. These complaints arise due to non-ergonomic posture causing pain in several parts of the body felt by workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of risk and the percentage of complaints experienced during the production process. The methods used are the Standard Nordic Questionnaire (SNQ) and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). The results of the research from the SNQ questionnaire on the manufacture of coco fiber, the body segments of workers mostly experience complaints on the back, waist and thighs. Research using the REBA method has a very high level of risk in jockey, sieving, and pressing workers (A4 and A5).Keywords— musculoskeletal disorders, working posture, SNQ, REBA

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rappa L.) is a horticultural commodity with great potential that requires further processing to preserve quality and extend their shelf life. One of the commonly used advanced processing techniques is the pasteurization method, which uses a thermal process. The thermal process is known to cause quality degradation in pakcoy juice, especially its chlorophyll content. This study is to determine chlorophyll pigment degradation kinetics in pakcoyjuice during the thermal process. The kinetics of chlorophyll degradation followed first-order reactions, with an activation energy of 38.24 kJ/mol. The ? value ranged from 114.943 to 384.615 minutes, the ? value was 60.61°C, and the reaction rate constant (?) increased with increasing temperature. The results of this study emphasized the importance of controlling the temperature and duration of the thermal process to maintain the quality of chlorophyll pigments in pakcoy juice.

Abstract

The marketing strategy evaluation of smoothie chips was conducted using a SWOT analysis and marketing mix benchmarking (4P) on two main comparison brands, namely Fitbar and Soyjoy, in Sumbersari District, Jember Regency. The main objectives of this study were to identify internal-external factors, analyze the product's competitive position in the dimensions of product, price, distribution, and promotion, and formulate appropriate marketing strategy recommendations. The research method used a qualitative approach (IFAS-EFAS) and quantitative (benchmarking) with a Likert scale questionnaire instrument (1-5) for 100 respondents. The instrument was declared valid and reliable with a Cronbach's α value > 0.70. The analysis results showed an IFAS value of 2.60 and EFAS of 2.85, which placed smoothie chips in the aggressive strategy quadrant. The product stands out in the indicators of natural ingredients (0.338) and uniqueness (0.329), but still lags behind in the aspects of visuals, taste, availability, and intensity of digital promotion. The SWOT analysis and benchmarking recommend implementing an aggressive strategy focused on strengthening brand image through storytelling and influencer collaboration, expanding multichannel distribution, enhancing sensory and packaging quality, and employing a penetration pricing strategy with multipack packaging. Given that the product is still a prototype, these findings are evaluative of initial market perception and require further verification through test marketing.

Abstract

This modern milling facility, called the Modern Rice Milling Plant (MRMP), operates in the field of logistics or warehousing and consists of seven production processes: raw material reception, drying process, storage (silo), milling, sorting, packaging, and stock handling. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are among the most common health problems directly associated with working conditions. This study aims to analyze workers' posture by evaluating working postures during the rice processing activities at MRMP Bulog in Jember Regency, to identify workers' Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) complaints during the rice processing process at MRMP Bulog Jember, and to provide posture recommendations to reduce the risk of high-risk MSD-related injuries during rice processing activities at MRMP Bulog Jember. This research was conducted from April to June 2025. The sample consisted of 5 individuals from the raw material reception and rice transportation to the truck sections, which are part of the rice processing population. The final OWAS score at the raw material reception stage (P1 and P2) was 3, indicating that improvements must be made as soon as possible. Similarly, during the rice transportation to the distribution truck (P3, P4, and P5), the OWAS final score was also 3, meaning that improvements are urgently needed to prevent work-related accidents. Therefore, the current method and tools used during the raw material reception stage pose a high risk to workers' bodies, and immediate improvements are necessary. The recommended tool is a long, pointed iron rod used to pierce or unload wet paddy sacks. This tool is suggested to facilitate the workers in performing their tasks and to minimize the occurrence of accidents or Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
