Abstract

The limited stock and uncertainty of fuel prices as a source of driving the main engine and generator on ships greatly affect the lives of fishermen in Indonesia. Even though there is a policy in the form of assistance from the government in the form of subsidies, fishermen still feel doubtful about being able to get such assistance. To overcome this and with the potential of solar energy in Indonesia, as well as a manifestation of appropriate technology and blue economy policies, a photovoltaic system is made that is combined with underwater lights as a fishing tool. Activities are carried out by measuring environmental conditions and the energy that comes out of the PV system and giving questionnaires to the fishermen. The results showed that the use of PV systems combined with underwater lights in fishing activities gave good results. The result of electrical energy that can be generated is 393.24 Wh/day and can meet the ship’s electricity needs for 4 days. This result is also supported by the Wilcoxon test results for technical, economic, environmental, health, and safety aspects with a significance value of 0.001 (p<0.05).

Abstract

The limited fossil energy and uncertain prices have an indirect effect on fishing activities using a fixed lift net. Therefore, energy diversification is carried out by utilizing solar energy with photovoltaics on the fixed lift net. This energy is very abundant and available throughout the year, except during the rainy season. This study uses observation, interviews, and questionnaires given to fishermen and tries to compare the utilization of photovoltaic (PV) systems with generators using different types of lamps, such as LED, CFL, incandescent lamps, and halogen lamps. The use of PV systems in fixed lift nets from a technical and economic perspective allows it to be utilized in the long term. Based on the technical aspects, the PV system can produce 471.59 Wh per day. This technical result will be more profitable if the lamp used is a light emitting diode (LED) lamp. Meanwhile, from economic aspect, the use of electrical energy from a PV system is more profitable because it provides a lower operational value than a generator, and provides good net present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR) values. This utilization is also supported by the good response from fishermen towards the energy produced and the ease of operation and maintenance of the PV system.

Abstract

This writing reviews the implementation of a student service program that focuses on mangrove nurseries, with the aim of supporting conservation through environmental education. The nursery process involves preparing the land, collecting mangrove propagules, and transferring the seedlings to the nursery. These steps aim to support ecological awareness among university students, so that they can become a generation that cares about the environment and understands Indonesia's strategic role as a maritime nation. This research also emphasizes the importance of periodic monitoring and maintenance of mangrove seedlings to ensure healthy and sustainable growth. The results of this study provide a practical view of the contribution of higher education in the formation of maritime character and ecological awareness through mangrove nurseries. The implication is to strengthen maritime character and increase ecological awareness among students and Indonesian society more broadly.

Abstract

Ikan merupakan sumber protein hewani yang dapat dijadikan bahan untuk pembuatan olahan pangan. Jenis ikan dan teknik pengolahan pangan perikanan mempengaruhi nilai kandungan nutrisi dan dapat mempengaruhi tingkat konsumsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil proksimat dua jenis ikan yaitu ikan tenggiri (Scomberomorus sp.) dan ikan lele (Clarias sp.) yang diolah dengan cara rebusan  dan kemudian dipanggang menjadi  pentolan panggang  yang merupakan makanan ringan yang digemari di Kupang. Hasil proximat pentolan panggang dari bahan dasar ikan tenggiri (Scomberomorus sp.) yaitu protein 15.71 %, lemak kasar 3.39%, karbohidrat 11.15%, serat kasar 0.16%, kadar abu 1.83%, dan kadar air 67.91%  dan hasil proksimat pentolan panggang dari bahan dasar ikan lele (Clarias sp.) yaitu protein 11.07%, lemak kasar 5.69%, karbohidrat 10.15%, serat kasar 0.14%, kadar abu 1.35%, kadar air 71.36%.Kata kunci : Clarias sp.; Pentolan; Scomberomorus sp.; Nutrisi

Abstract

ABSTRAKEkosistem mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem yang paling produktif dibandingkan dengan sistem ekologi lainnya. Penerapan pendekatan eduwisata pada wisata mangrove bertujuan untuk menggabungkan nilai-nilai edukasi, konservasi, dan keberlanjutan dalam satu rangkaian kegiatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluha dan pendampingan. Hasil yang dicapai adalah peserta mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan melakukan rehabilitasi dan konservasi serta pemahaman mengelola dan melestarian ekowisata mangrove menjadi kawasan eduwisata. Untuk mendukung keberlanjutan pengelolaan edukasi mangrove diberikan bibit mangrove sebanyak 1000 buah, polybag, materi edukatif berupa poster dan lifleat. Manfaat pengembangan wisata mangrove bagi masyarakat adalah meningkatkan nilai edukasi, ekologi, sosial dan ekonomi bagi masyarakat, pengelola dan pengunjung..Kata kunci: mangrove; ekowisata; oesapa barat ABSTRACTMangrove ecosystem is one of the most productive ecosystems compared to other ecological systems. The application of the edu-tourism approach to mangrove tourism aims to combine the values of education, conservation, and sustainability in one series of activities. The methods used are counseling and mentoring. The results achieved were that participants gained knowledge and skills to carry out rehabilitation and conservation as well as an understanding of managing and preserving mangrove ecotourism into an edu-tourism area. To support the sustainability of mangrove education management, 1000 mangrove seeds, polybags, educational materials in the form of posters and lifleats were given. The benefits of mangrove tourism development for the community are to increase educational, ecological, social and economic value for the community, managers and visitors. Keywords: mangroves; ecotourism; oesapa barat.

Abstract

Catfish (Clarias sp.) has high nutritional content. However, processed products such as nuggets from this fish are still limited in Kupang city. So, the nutritional content of the nuggets is less known. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the nutritional content of catfish nuggets derived from aquaponic cultivation, with proximate analysis. The stages of making catfish nuggets briefly begin with ground meat, then steamed, then coated with breadcrumbs and stored in the freezer. The proximate test obtained was the content of 11.67% protein, 30.139% carbohydrates, 7.82% fat, 48.137% water content, 2.22% ash and 0.014% crude fiber. So, with its nutritional content, catfish nuggets can be used as a substitute for chicken nuggets.

Abstract

Abstrak - Eutrofikasi akan menyebabkan meledaknya populasi organisme tertentu sehingga dapat menimbulkan kematian beberapa organisme perairan, termasuk ekosistem terumbu karang. Tujuan mengetahui hubungan kondisi kualitas air terhadap tutupan karang di Pesisir Kelurahan Fatubesi dan Pasir Panjang, Kota Kupang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pesisir Kelurahan Fatubesi dan Kelurahan Pasir Panjang Kecamatan Kota Lama Kota Kupang pada bulan Agustus 2023 Pengambilan data tutupan terumbu karang dilakukan dengan Point Intercept Transect (PIT) dengan panjang transek 2 x 25 m yang diletakkan pada kedalaman 3 meter dan 10 meter. Principal Components Analysis digunakan untuk melihat parameter - parameter lingkungan yang mempengaruhi tutupan karang pada suatu perairan. Hasil uji PCA yang dilakukan, tutupan karang memiliki korelasi positif dengan salinitas (0.676), kecerahan (0.676), kecepatan arus (0.618) dan DO (0.708). Sedangkan suhu, pH dan kekeruhan memiliki korelasi negative dengan tutupan karang yaitu masing-masing sebesar -0.526, -0.736 dan -0.494. Hasil Penelitian ini menjadi informasi bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat untuk melakukan pengelolaan yang baik melalui pengurangan buangan bahan organic ke badan perairan yang bersumber dari kegiatan yang dilakukan di daratan. Kata kunci : Eutrofikasi, terumbu karang, Principal Components Analysis Abstract - Eutrophication will cause an explosion in the population of certain organisms that can cause the death of some aquatic organisms, including coral reef ecosystems. The purpose of knowing the relationship of water quality conditions to coral cover in the Coastal Village of Fatubesi and Pasir Panjang, Kupang City. This research was conducted in the coastal area of Fatubesi Village and Pasir Panjang Village, Kota Lama Sub-district, Kupang City in August 2023. Data collection of coral reef cover was carried out by Point Intercept Transect (PIT) with a transect length of 2 x 25 m which was placed at a depth of 3 meters and 10 meters. Principal Components Analysis is used to see environmental parameters that affect coral cover in a body of water. The results of the PCA test conducted, coral cover has a positive correlation with salinity (0.676), brightness (0.676), current speed (0.618) and DO (0.708). while temperature, pH and turbidity have a negative correlation with coral cover which is -0.526, -0.736 and -0.494 respectively. The results of this study provide information for the government and the community to carry out good management through reducing the discharge of organic matter into water bodies sourced from activities carried out on land. Abstract

Abstrak – Jaring insang dasar merupakan alat tangkap yang teknik pengoperasian secara aktif, semi aktif, maupun pasif dan dioperasikan di dasar perairan. Penggunaan alat tangkap jaring insang dasar pada kawasan konservasi Desa Oenggae, Kabupaten Rote Ndao perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus agar tidak menimbulkan dampak negatif dan merusak habitat. Penilaian tingkat keramahan alat tangkap jaring insang dasar menggunakan analisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Keramahan jaring insang dasar dinilai melalui skoring pada 9 kriteria CCRF dengan total responde 17 orang. Tingkat keramahan jaring insang dasar yang digunakan oleh nelayan di Desa Oenggae tergolong alat tangkap yang ramah lingkungan dengan skor 27,23. Alat tangkap yang masuk dalam kategori alat tangkap ramah lingkungan merupakan alat tangkap yang memperhatikan selektivitas, kualitas hasil tangkapan, dan tingkat bahaya yang ditimbulkan bagi nelayan dalam pengoperasiannya. Abstrac - Bottom gillnets are fishing tools that operate actively, semi-actively, or passively and are operated on the bottom of the water. The use of bottom gillnet fishing gear in the conservation area of ​​Oenggae Village, Rote Ndao Regency, needs special attention so that it does not cause negative impacts and damage the habitat. Assessment of the level of friendliness of basic gillnet fishing gear using descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The friendliness of the bottom gillnet was assessed through scoring on 9 CCRF criteria with a total of 17 respondents. The level of friendliness of the bottom gillnet used by fishermen in Oenggae Village is classified as environmentally friendly fishing gear with a score of 27.23. Fishing gear that is included in the environmentally friendly fishing gear category is fishing gear that pays attention to selectivity, the quality of the catch, and the level of danger posed to fishermen in its operation. Abstract

Abstrak - Serangan penyakit merupakan pemicu kegagalan budidaya. Penyakit yang menyerang organisme budidaya air tawar yaitu penyakit bacterial salah satu agen bakteri yang menginfeksi adalah bakteri P. fluorescens. Penggunaan antibiotik seringkali digunakan untuk mengatasi penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri, sehingga perlu adanya alternatif dengan penggunaan bahan alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak lengkuas merah (A. purpurata) terhadap daya hambat bakteri P. fluorescens secara In Vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan, 2 kontrol dan 4 kali ulangan. Perlakuan A (100 ppm), perlakuan B (105 ppm), perlakuan C (110 ppm), perlakuan D (115 ppm), perlakuan E (120 ppm), kontrol positif menggunakan tetracyline 30 ppm, dan kontrol negatif tanpa pemberian ekstrak. Hasil penelitian didapat zona hambat tertinggi pada perlakuan E (120 ppm) dengan rerata zona hambat sebesar 10,53 mm dan terendah pada perlakuan A (100 ppm) dengan rerata zona hambat sebesar 8,15 mm. Zona hambat antar perlakuan menunjukkan grafik linier dengan persamaan y = -3,25 + 0,11x dan koefisien determinasi (R2) yaitu sebesar 0,8552. Disease tat attack freshwater aquaculture organisms, namely bacterial disease, one of the bacterial agents that infect are P. fluorescens bacteria. The use of antibiotics is still often used to treat diseases caused by bacteria, so there is a need for alternatives to the use of natural ingredients. This study aims to determine effect of red galangal extract (A. pupurata) on inhibitory of P. fluorescens bacteria in vitro. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments, 2 controls and 4 replications. Treatment A (100 ppm), treatment B (105 ppm), treatment C (110 ppm), treatment D (115 ppm), treatment E (120 ppm), positive control with 30 ppm tetracyline, and negative control without extract. The results showed that the highest inhibition zone was in treatment E (120 ppm) with an average inhibition zone of 10,53 mm and the lowest was in treatment A (100 ppm) with an average inhibition zone of 8,15 mm. The inhibition zone between treatments shows a linear graph with the equation y = -3,25 + 0,11x and the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0,8552. Abstract

Pendampingan dan Pendekatan melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaituPendampingan Dan Sosialisasi Dalam Mematuhi Protokol Kesehatan UpayaPencegahan Virus Corona (Covid 19) Di Sdk St. Arnoldus, Kupang”. Kegiatanpengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat menyelesaikan masalah yang terjadidi masyarakat pesisir Kota Kupang melalui pendampingan dan pendekatanpersuasif dan mendampingi siswa-siswi dalam menghadapi krisis pandemi Covid19.Implementasi kebijakan dari pemerintah untuk memperkecil angka penyebarancovid- 19 terus dilakukan kepada setiap lapisan masyarakat, termasuk kelompok anak-anakusia dini yang belum sepenuhnya paham akan bahaya dari virus ini. Salah satuupayapencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 kepada masyarakat khususnya siswa-siswa di SdkSt. Arnoldus, Kupang diharapkan melalui pendampingan ini dilakukan dengancaramendongeng (story telling) dan sosialisasi protokol Kesehatan tentang carapencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 demi menyesuaikan tingkat pemahamansiswa- siswa di Sdk St. Arnoldus.
