Abstract

Adolescent mental health has become an increasingly urgent global concern, with schools recognised as strategic settings for mental health promotion, prevention, and early intervention. Over the past two decades, a wide range of school-based mental health initiatives have been developed, including mental health literacy programs, universal preventive interventions, teacher capacity-building, and whole-school approaches. However, existing evidence suggests that many initiatives remain fragmented and primarily focused on short-term outcomes. This article aims to synthesise international literature on school-based mental health initiatives in order to identify dominant trends, methodological limitations, and directions for sustainable development. A narrative thematic literature review was conducted using peer-reviewed studies published between 2004 and 2025 that examined mental health programs, frameworks, and assessment practices within school settings. The findings indicate that mental health literacy and universal preventive programs consistently improve students’ knowledge, attitudes, coping skills, and perceived readiness to seek help, while teacher-focused training enhances educators’ confidence and preparedness to support student mental health. Nevertheless, evidence of sustained behavioural change, system-level integration, and long-term effectiveness remains limited. In addition, considerable heterogeneity in assessment tools constrains comparability across studies and weakens cumulative evidence building. This review concludes that advancing sustainable school mental health systems requires integrated whole-school and multi-tiered approaches, strengthened teacher capacity embedded within supportive school structures, and the use of standardised, culturally adaptable assessment strategies.

Abstract

The increasing use of social media has several impacts, including the emergence of narcissistic behavior in adolescents. Narcissistic behavior in adolescents on social media is freely spreading identity and what happened to them, spreading other people's secrets or disgrace on social media, leaving negative comments on other people's social media, and wanting other people on social media to know what they have. This study aims to determine the tendency of adolescent narcissistic behavior on social media. This research uses a literature study method. Ease of access to using social media is one of the factors in the phenomenon of narcissism that occurs, especially among adolescents. Guidance and counseling services that can be developed related to narcissism are use guidance groups.

Abstract

This community service investigated the contribution of digitalization to increasing income and expanding the market in Cimalaka Village, and identified barriers and potential development opportunities. Local MSMEs still face limitations in marketing and competitiveness. Digitalization was offered as a solution through a qualitative approach with mentoring experiments. The digitalization activities implemented included logo creation, product catalogs, registration on Google Maps, halal certification, and the use of QRIS as a digital payment system. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in the visibility, credibility, and market reach of MSMEs. Before the program, most MSMEs lacked a clear business identity, had not utilized social media, and still relied on cash transactions. After outreach and mentoring, 11 MSMEs successfully developed business logos, product catalogs, active social media accounts, and began using QRIS and were registered on Google Maps. This digital role has been proven to facilitate business promotion, transactions, and management, thus driving increased revenue. However, obstacles remain such as low technological literacy and a lack of outreach. This activity contributes to the community while providing practical guidance for effective and sustainable MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the distribution of university students’ levels of self-compassion based on its psychological aspects. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 144 students from guidance and counseling study program at a higher education institution. The entire population was included as reasearch participants without applying any sampling technique. Data were collected using a self compassion scale developed in the form of a likert model, which encompasses six core dimensions: self-kindness, self-judgment, common humanity, isolation, mindfulness and over=identification. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive percentage techniques to classify self-compassion levels into three categories, namely low, moderate, and high. The results indicated that, everall, most students were classified in the moderate level of self-compassion (48%), followed by those in the low category (0%) and the high category (52%). Further analysis of each dimension showed that the majority of students also fell into the moderate category, with percentage distributions exceeding 40% across all aspects. These findings suggest that studentsself commpassion has not yet developed optimally and tends to remain at a moderate level. This condition indicates the need for systematic developmental efforts oriented toward strengthening students’ psychological aspects, particularly in fostering adative self-attitudes, emotional awarness, and balanced self-evaluation. The results of this study can serve as an empirical basis for designing guidance and counseling programs aimed at enhancing self-compassion among university students.

Abstract

The development of instruments designed to assess student self-concept is crucial. This understanding of self-concept is based on the premise that it is a dynamic and ever-evolving construct. The concept of self-concept is initially conceived as a unidimensional structure but subsequently evolves into a multidimensional construct. The present study assesses the validity and reliability of the newly developed self-concept instrument. In Indonesia, there is a paucity of research that employs the Rasch Model to examine self-concept instruments, particularly in the context of the junior high school population. The objective of this study was to analyze the self-concept instrument using the Rasch Model with a sample of 113 students at the junior high school level. The research methodology employed is quantitative, with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique employed was simple random sampling. The findings of the study indicate that the instrument effectively assesses the intended dimensions of self-concept. The reliability of the self-concept instrument is deemed to be of a high category, while the reliability of the self-concept item is considered to be of an excellent standard.

Abstract

Capacity describes the human ability to perform, maintain itself, and self-renew. The concept of capacity building is concerned with three distinct levels: the individual, the organizational, and the community level. The literature on capacity building for school counselors is quite diverse. Accordingly, a comprehensive review of the emerging literature is required. This study conducted a systematic literature review exploring the current state of knowledge regarding the capacity building of school counselors. This study was conducted in accordance with the Standard Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Protocols (PRISMA-P), which guided the selection of 30 articles that met the inclusion criteria. This article delineates the context of school counselor capacity building that has been conducted over the past decade, the research and measurement methods utilized in previous studies, as well as identifies potential formats and contexts for developing school counselor capacity in the future. The findings of this study provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in the field of school counselor capacity building and offer insights for future research endeavors.

The type of research uses quantitative approach and descriptive method with research sample through random sampling which includes 100 students of SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung, consisting of 42% male students and 58% female students. The research data were collected using a self-acceptance instrument that was adapted to the characteristics of the data and research subjects. The instrument consisted of 30 items which were distributed online through the google classroom platform. The research data were analyzed using Rasch modeling using variable maps, subtotal specification, and Differential Item Functional (DIF). The findings show that students are in a low self-acceptance condition with a lower mean person value of 0.06 than the mean item of 0.14 with the influence of social media used. Students' self-acceptance is at a moderate to low level, with female students having difficulty accepting themselves than males, due to female students having more social media used. Further research is needed involving representative respondents and intervention design to improve students' self-acceptance.
