Abstract

Game-based learning such as Kahoot! has transformed the conventional classrom settings into more fun and interactive learning experiences. Kahoot! as a digital game-based student response system allows teachers and students to connect through competitive knowledge games. It encourages active learning and provides assistance to educators in the process of developing quizzes with multiple-choice questions. The purpose of this research is to investigate teachers’ perceptions of Kahoot in English Language Teaching and to assess the impact of Kahoot on student engagement and learning outcomes from the teachers' viewpoint. Mixed-method design was used to explore deeper perspectives and experiences of respondents. Survey and semi-structured interviews were employed to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. There were 50 primary school teachers selected through purposive sampling technique as respondents of this research. The findings of this research demonstrate that Kahoot is an effective gamified-learning tool to enhance student engagement and motivation in learning process. However its limitation in presenting deeper learning and its technical issues associated with the internet connectivity and devices capability must be carefully considered. Abstract

The First National Congress (MUNAS) of the Indonesian Civil Servant Lecturers Alliance under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (ADAKSI), held on May 2–4, 2025, in Jakarta, served as a pivotal moment for the consolidation and advocacy of civil servant lecturers at the national level. This event successfully formulated the organization’s strategic direction, ratified its Statutes and Bylaws (AD/ART), and developed a medium-term work plan for 2025–2028. The inaugural MUNAS of ADAKSI also produced twenty strategic policy recommendations to the government, particularly concerning the welfare and professionalism of civil servant lecturers. In addition to electing the national executive board, the congress affirmed ADAKSI’s role as both a strategic partner and a critical counterpart to the government in higher education reform. This article not only outlines the key outcomes of the congress but also examines the contributions and impact of strengthening the institutional position of ministerial civil servant lecturers within the national education ecosystem.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a necessity in the governance of community organizations in the digital era. The development of information and communication technology requires Community Organizations to carry out strategic adaptations in order to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and wider public participation. This study aims to examine the role of socialization in supporting the strengthening of digital transformation in the management of Community Organizations, as well as identifying challenges and strategies that can be implemented in the process. There were 60 participants involved in this activivity who come from different regions in Indonesia. The activity was conducted online through Zoom Conference. The results of the community service show that socialization carried out continuously through various digital platforms can increase digital literacy of members, encourage collaboration between institutions, and strengthen organizational transparency and accountability. In addition, successful digital transformation is supported by visionary leadership, the availability of technological infrastructure, and adaptive regulatory support. However, the main challenges faced include resistance to change, gaps in HR capacity, and budget constraints. Therefore, a strengthening strategy is needed through digital training, increasing multi-sector partnerships, and establishing an inclusive digital ecosystem for Community Organizations. The conclusion of this Community Service is that socialization and strengthening of digital-based management are the keys to success in realizing relevant, responsive, and highly competitive Community Organizations in the digital era. Abstract

This study provides closer insight into how Quantum Learning may be applied in teaching English to first-semester students in the Universitas Negeri Makassar Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Program. Given its emphasis on active participation, experiential learning, and the creation of a positive learning environment, Quantum Learning is considered a possible means of raising student motivation and participation in language acquisition. The survey consisted of 50 students and utilized a quasi-experimental design to measure the changes in student motivation and participation. Pretest and post-test questionnaires, classroom observations, and follow-up interviews were used to measure the changes. The findings showed a noticeable improvement: student motivation increased by 26.4% and participation increased by 32.0%. Class observations revealed that the students were more active and assertive, especially when discussing in groups, playing games, and conducting experiments. Some students even said that they felt less stressed when communicating in English and that learning was more fun compared to previous classes. But all was not well. One of the most significant challenges was the gap in the level of English proficiency among students. This necessitated teachers to adjust their style so that everyone could maintain pace. Differentiated instructions and adapted support are essential for making learning accessible. Finally, the observations are that Quantum Learning can prove to be a successful method for developing English classes and making them more interactive and student-centric, especially in the sphere of sports education. More research could examine its long-term effects, explore how it can be paired with technology, or examine how it contributes to other language skills, such as writing and listening.

Abstract

The development of the Industrial Revolution 5.0 requires students, particularly prospective biology teachers, to acquire 21st-century skills, including numeracy literacy, which serves as the foundation for critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving. This study aims to analyze the numeracy literacy profile of Biology Education students based on the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). The research employed a quantitative descriptive method involving 88 first- and third-semester students of the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Timor, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of a numeracy test that referred to the content, context, cognitive processes, and numeracy literacy levels of the AKM. The findings reveal that students’ numeracy literacy is still categorized as Requiring Special Intervention. This condition is influenced by memorization-oriented learning, low learning motivation, and limited integration of numeracy in biology instruction. These results highlight the importance of implementing innovative and contextual learning strategies integrated with numeracy literacy so that prospective biology teachers can not only meet the minimum AKM standards but also develop pedagogical competencies relevant to the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) presents challenges, particularly in vocabulary acquisition. This study examines the integration of social media, specifically Instagram, in enhancing students' vocabulary skills and its impact on learning motivation. A quantitative experimental design was employed, involving pre-tests, treatment, and post-tests on students from STKIP Pangeran Antasari. The findings indicate a significant improvement in vocabulary acquisition, with post-test scores showing an increase from an initial 33.33% mastery level to 93.33%. Moreover, students' motivation significantly increased, as evidenced by post-questionnaire results. The study suggests that social media can be an effective supplementary tool for vocabulary learning, providing interactive and engaging learning experiences.
