Abstract

The spread of hoaxes in Indonesia is a serious problem. According to survey data conducted by the Katadata Insight Center and Kominfo in 2021, it shows that the elderly group aged 55-70 years is only 3.6 percent of internet users. Meanwhile, the millennial generation (23-38 years) is 43.8%, generation Z (13-22 years) is 28.6% and generation X (39-54 years) is 23.9%. The problem in society today is the lack of ability to digest correct information. So the government needs to provide teaching or literacy in fact-checking materials and media literacy. This is related to the many hoaxes, fake news and slander that are circulating in society. Therefore, the Tular Reasoning Activity was held as a form of initial prevention for the people of Majene Regency in facing the 2024 ELECTION, especially for the elderly and also the younger generation so that they know how to distinguish between facts and hoaxes circulating through their gadgets and digital devices. Through learning materials from media and digital literacy facilitators, the community will come together to find out the truth of news, be responsive in seeing the truth, and be tough in fighting hoaxes.

Abstract

This study is a literature review aimed at systematically analyzing previous research findings related to science literacy and digital literacy among junior high school students in the context of science education. The method used is a literature review focusing on science literacy and digital literacy. A total of 20 relevant articles and scientific journals indexed in reputable databases were collected and analyzed to derive recommendations related to the literature review. The findings indicate that the level of science literacy among junior high school students in science education is generally low to moderate, while digital literacy shows better results, ranging from moderate to high. This study concludes that the development of integrated science education with strengthened science and digital literacy is essential to enhance students' competencies in addressing the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to assess how the effectiveness of ChatGPT and the extent to which ChatGPT technology can improve students ' understanding of optical wave materials. This study used a descriptive-quantitative Survey research design. The results showed that the average student prospective science teacher needs to chat four times to understand one problem on optical wave material this shows that ChatGPT can be a tool for students to answer a problem without asking again to the lecturer.  ChatGPT can be used as a tool in understanding the main learning material in physics which describes a lot of material that tends to be abstract so that it takes time for students to understand it. However, in the use of ChatGPT, there is also a need for supervision and application of academic ethics so that the integrity of learning outcomes is maintained.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the application of Web-Based Learning in improving HotS in prospective science teachers, so as to contribute to the development of the competence of prospective science teachers. This type of research is a pre-experimental research with a research design using one group Pretest-Posttest. A sample of 45 science teacher candidates Class of 2021. Research Instrument in the form of multiple choice test questions HOTS. Data collection is done by providing pretest-posttest. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed the characteristics of test scores for HOTS questions for IPBA courses for prospective students of the Makassar State University science teacher Class of 2021 before and after the implementation of web-based learning. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the HOTS level of prospective teachers before the application of web-based learning has an average value of 30.40, while after the application of web-based learning has an average value of 89.22. The average N-Gain HOTS of prospective science teacher students after applying web based learning is 0.84 which is in the high category. It can be concluded that there is a significant increase in hots for prospective science teachers after the application of web based learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu anak-anak yang terlantar di jalanan kota Makassar memperoleh keterampilan produktif dalam pembuatan mini project lampu Hias. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dibagi menjadi dua tahapan yang pertama adalah pengenalan mini project sains berbasis fisika lampu hias, tahapan kedua yaitu pelatihan pembuatan lampu hias terhadap anak-anak jalanan di kota Makassar. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah terciptanya keterampilan produktivitas dalam pembuatan lampu hias, baik sebelum dan sesudah. Diharapkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini akan membantu anak-anak meningkatkan keterampilan produksi mereka, terutama dalam membuat mini project lampu hias, dan juga membantu mereka menjadi lebih baik dalam berwirausaha.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, reliable, and practical project assessment sheet instrument for the Substances and Energy course using the ADDIE model. The instrument was developed through the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The content validity of the instrument was tested using Aiken's V formula with two expert validators and resulted in an average value of 0.913, indicating very high validity. Instrument reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.95, indicating very high internal consistency. The practicality test of the instrument through student responses showed an average score above 4.0 on a scale of 1-5, with the percentage of positive responses of “Agree” and “Strongly Agree” reaching almost 60%, indicating that the instrument is easy to understand and use and is able to motivate students in project work. Although there is some room for improvement, this instrument is well received by students and lecturers and is suitable for use as a project-based learning evaluation tool in the Substance and Energy course.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a crucial competency for students in the 21st century, particularly in the context of science education. However, international assessments such as PISA continue to indicate that Indonesian students’ scientific literacy remains below global standards. This literature study aims to investigate the development, implementation, and impact of scientific literacy-oriented science learning in Indonesian schools by reviewing 20 selected articles published in accredited national journals. The review method involves analyzing research trends, learning models, and key factors influencing scientific literacy from studies conducted between 2016 and 2022. The findings show that various innovative learning models, including STEM-based learning, problem-based learning, guided inquiry, blended learning, and the use of digital teaching materials, have been widely applied to enhance students' scientific literacy. Most studies emphasize the effectiveness of integrating scientific literacy with critical thinking, character education, and environmental awareness. Moreover, student worksheets (LKPD), e-modules, and multimedia resources were found to support literacy development effectively, especially when aligned with scientific practices and real-life contexts. The review also identifies gaps in longitudinal studies, integration across different science disciplines, and limited focus on the primary education level. In conclusion, the literature reveals a strong movement toward designing science learning that not only builds scientific knowledge but also promotes students’ ability to apply it meaningfully in daily life. Further research is recommended to evaluate the long-term impact of these approaches and to develop integrated frameworks for enhancing scientific literacy across educational levels.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi di abad 21 sangat urgen diteliti dan merupakan salah satu dimensi profil lulusan peserta didik kurikulum ditahun 2025. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan  asemen kinerja praktikum: valid dan reliable, praktis, dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan pra-eksperimen semu, dengan tahapan 1) merancang asesmen kinerja praktikum, 2) membuat instrument penelitian; 3) perangkat pembelajaran, 4) mengembangkan tes berpikir tingkat tinggi, 5) menerapkan asesmen kinerja praktikum, 6) melakukan pretest dan postest, dan 7) analisis data. Sampel penelitian calon guru ilmu pengerahuan alam kelas A (n = 31, dankelas B (n=21). Hasil penelitian asesmen kinerja praktikum dan perangkat pembelajaran: 1) valid dengan nilai validitas (Vr = 1) dan nilai reliabilitas R = 100%; 2) keefektifan dengan skor rata – rata keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi kelas A dan B masing-masing sebesar 100% dan81% dan skor rata-rata respon mahasiswa kelas A dan B masing-masing 100% (positif); 3) kepraktissan dengan skor rata-rata keterlakasanaan kelas A dan B masing-masing 99.5% dan 99.67 (terlaksana)

Abstract

Literasi merupakan seperangkat kemampuan keterampilan individu dalam membaca, menulis, berbicara, menghitung, dan memecahkan masalah pada tingkat keahlian tertentu yang diperlukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Membaca merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dalam segala macam proses pembelajaran. Melalui membacalah berbagai ilmu pengetahuan dapat mengantarkan pada kesuksesan. Artikel ini bertujuan melatih siswa dalam hal membaca dan melatih siswa menulis sambil didikte. Hambatan dalam artikel ini kurangnya kesadaran siswa dan kurangnya peran orang tua dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari kegiatan literasi membaca ini membawa dampak positif bagi siswa. Dampak positif ini berupa peningkatan minat membaca siswa, hal ini disertai dengan meningkatnya rasa percaya diri siswa dalam membaca dan menulis. Dalam kegiatan ini memiliki hambatan yang dialami mahasiswa proses untuk mengumpulkan siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan literasi membaca, siswa cenderung kurang disiplin. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut ada tiga usaha yang dilakukan mahasiswa yaitu, mahasiswa mendatangi siswa satu persatu ke kelasnya, membuat daftar hadir disetiap pertemuannya, dan menggunakan media pembelajaran (Audio Visual).

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan penggunaan KIT IPA bagi MGMP IPA Makassar telah dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2023. Pelatihan ini berhubungan dengan alat-alat laboratorium IPA yang menjadi salah satu sumber efektif untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran bagi guru dan peserta didik. Kegiatan ini berlangsung bertempat di Prodi Pendidikan IPA. Adapun tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan penggunaan serta keterampilan para guru IPA tentang penggunaan KIT IPA yaitu KIT listrik dan optik dan manajemen laboratorium. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi dan diskusi. Para guru IPA sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini karena sebagian besar guru kurang memahami mengenai pemakaian alat KIT IPA. Pelatihan tentang penggunaan KIT IPA yang tersedia di laboratorium diharapkan para guru IPA dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagaimana cara menggunakan dan memanfaatkan alat-alat tersebut secara tepat sebagai media pembelajaran.
