Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in questioning skills of prospective science teacher students. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research was designed as a classroom action research which consisted of 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was carried out in the Science Education Study Program, FMIPA UNM and the subjects of this research were students of the Program Studi Pendidikan IPA who took the IPA Sekolah 1 course in the 2022/2023 academic year. The data in this study can be in the form of qualitative data. Qualitative data in the form of learning journals made by students. The learning journal contains material conclusions, interesting things related to the material being taught, questions asked, and temporary answers to questions asked. The questions contained in the study journal are classified based on the Cognitive level of Bloom's Taxonomy and are analyzed quantitatively. In cycle I, student questions were directly answered by the subject lecturer. The results obtained were that the number of students who asked questions C1 was 20, C2 was 51, C3 was 25, C4 was 3, and there were no questions with cognitive levels C5 and C6. In cycle II, the questions posed by students were discussed and discussed by the students themselves, the course lecturer only served as a facilitator, so the number of questions at the cognitive level C1 was 6, C2 was 53, C3 was 11, C4 was 17, C5 was 7. Based on From these results, it can be concluded that the questioning skills of prospective science teacher students have increased.

Abstract

The science literacy ability of students in Indonesia is still far below the international average score. Several things that can cause this include the applicable education system, choice of models, approaches, methods, strategies, and learning methonds, choice of learning resources, student learning styles and learning infrastructure. The research method used is a literature study that examines students science literacy skills in science learning.  A total of 16 articles with the theme of science literacy were collected, analyzed, and cocluded to obtain recommendations about students science literacy skills in science learning. The results of the literature review obtained several things, namely: (1) the literacy ability of students is still relatively low and one of the causes is the low science literacy ability of science educators. (2) learning models that can improve students’ science literacy skills are applying appropriate learning models including problem based learning, inquiry, ethnoscience, RQA, Discovery Model Assisted By PhET Simulation. (3) types of teaching materials that can improve students science literacy skills are guided inquiry-based teaching materials, STEM-based teaching materials, and interactive multimedia in a blended learning manner.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of science literacy ability and collaboration skill of prospective science teachers in the course of Matter and Energy and analyze the influence of STEM-PJBL learning on literacy abilities science and collaboration skills. This research is a pre-experiment with the research design used was One-Shot Case Study. In this design, students are given treatment, then observations are made about collaboration skill and they are given a scientific literacy ability test. The population in this study were all students of the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Makassar at the Science Education Study Program in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, while the sample in this study was students in the regular class of the 3rd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year which consisted of 2 classes that programmed the course of Matter and Energy. The regular class 01 as an experimental class and regular class 02 as a replication class. The research instruments used to measure collaboration skills are non-test instruments in the form of collaboration skills observation sheets and scientific literacy test instruments in the form of multiple choices. The results of descriptive statistical analysis show that the level of scientific literacy skills is in high category and the level of collaboration skills of prospective science teachers is in the very high category. The results of the inferential analysis show that the application of STEM-PJBL influences the scientific literacy abilities and collaboration skills of prospective science teachers in substance and energy courses. These results show that STEM-PJBL learning can be applied to other subjects because it can improve scientific literacy skills and collaboration skills of prospective teachers. It can be implemented to examine the effectiveness of this model in similar variables on the other subjects

Abstract

Keterampilan proses sains merupakan salah satu dari capaian pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan literatur review pada sejumlah artikel yang telah diterbitkan pada jurnal pendidikan IPA di Indonesia setelah pandemi covid-19 tahun 2021-2024 dengan keterampilan proses sains pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP sebagai fokus penelitian. Artikel yang dikumpulkan melalui database google scholar dan dipublikasikan melalui jurnal terakreditasi Kemendikbudristek. Terdapat 17 data jurnal yang menjadi sampel. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik PRISMA. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat beberapa model pembelajaran yang dapat melatihkan keterampilan proses sains dengan baik dan membantu peserta didik dapat menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari.
