Abstract

The goal of the research is to analyze the leadership that Jean Valjean shown in Les Miserables Movie directed by Tom Hooper. This research focuses on two aspects, the type and the impact of the leadership. The type of leadership that are found in this movie are (1) Laissez-faire leadership and (2) Servant leadership. While There are three impact of leadership that indeed to Jean Valjean as the main character in Les Miserables, they are (1) Inspiring confidence for others (2) Creating a respectful environment and (3) Increasing loyalty and trust. The Les Miserables Movie is a perfect movie for analyzing leadership, as it tells about the life of Jean Valjean who tries keeping himself in fire even though there are so many inside and outside difficulties in his life as a prisoner and after he has been released on parole. According to (Almaki et al., 2016) leadership is not just about power and authority, but it is a set of characteristics that should be owned by the leader. This movie shows many things to be a good leader who can bring a big impact to people. As a leader we must have faith, forgive the enemies and belief, there will always be a brighter tomorrow. We are all leaders in our lives. So, this movie gives us so many things that we can learn to have better life.

Abstract

The main problem in this study was "Is it effective to teach reading comprehension by using fables to the eleventh-grade students at SMK Rawas Hulu?". The objective of this study is to find out whether or not teaching narrative text by using fables to eleventh-grade students at SMK Rawas Hulu is effective. The method used in this study was the quasi-experimental method. The population of this research was the eleventh-grade student at SMK Rawas Hulu in the academic year of 2022/2023. The population was 240 students, and 240 students were taken as samples, which were chosen through purposive sampling in the form of convenience sampling. The written test was used to collect the data and analysed through paired samples t-test. The result of this study proved that are the fables effective for teaching reading comprehension by using fables to the eleventh-grade students at SMK Rawas Hulu, it is proved by the degree of freedom (df) 33, sig with 2-tailed 0,000. T- obtained shows that the alternative hypothesis with 95% (0,05) of the significant level was accepted because the result of paired samples t-test was 3.088 which exceeded the t-table value was 2,042 as its critical value under 0,05 significant levels. Besides, the alpha value It (0,000) was less than 0,05. it indicated that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that Teaching Reading Comprehension by Using Fables to The Eleventh Grade Students at SMK Rawas Hulu was effective.

Abstract

This service aims to increase environmental awareness and knowledge of horticultural plants in elementary school students of Karya Jaya Village. The training method and introduction of horticultural plants were carried out for 1 month. The results showed an increase in environmental awareness by 85% and knowledge of horticultural plants by 90%. The introduction of horticultural plants as a medium for developing environmental awareness in elementary school students of Karya Jaya Village proved to be effective.ABSTRAKPengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan dan pengetahuan tanaman hortikultura pada siswa sekolah dasar Desa Karya Jaya. Metode pelatihan dan pengenalan tanaman hortikultura dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan sebesar 85% dan pengetahuan tanaman hortikultura sebesar 90%. Pengenalan tanaman hortikultura sebagai media pengembangan kesadaran lingkungan pada siswa sekolah dasar Desa Karya Jaya terbukti efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran masyarakat dalam melestarikan tradisi Turun Ba Umo di Desa Pulau Aro, Kecamatan Tabir Ulu, Kabupaten Merangin, Provinsi Jambi. Tradisi ini merupakan bagian integral dari identitas budaya lokal yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai spiritual dan kearifan lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi aktif masyarakat sangat penting dalam pelaksanaan tradisi, tidak hanya sebagai penonton, tetapi juga sebagai pelaku yang terlibat dalam persiapan dan pelaksanaan upacara. Kerjasama antara masyarakat, pemerintah desa, dan lembaga adat menjadi kunci dalam melestarikan tradisi ini. Meskipun sempat terabaikan, komitmen masyarakat untuk menghidupkan kembali tradisi menunjukkan pentingnya hubungan antara pelestarian budaya dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kolaborasi semua elemen masyarakat diperlukan untuk memastikan tradisi Turun Ba Umo dapat terus diwariskan kepada generasi mendatang, sehingga identitas budaya masyarakat Desa Pulau Aro tetap terjaga di tengah perubahan zaman.

Abstract

The skill of writing scientific papers has become a requirement for students as undergraduate graduates. The aim of this community service is to improve students' skills in writing articles as scientific papers. This research is classified as a case study in the form of training in writing popular scientific articles as a reference for students of the Educational Administration study program in semesters I (one), III (three) and V (five). Held on October 18, 2024, 40 (Forty) students registered as participants in the Popular Article Writing Training to Improve Scientific Writing Skills using lecture, discussion, example and practice methods. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in students' writing skills, as seen from their ability to compose more structured and logical articles with a score of 87%. The support and guidance from lecturers and facilitators during the training greatly helped students in completing their writing so that they were more confident with a score of 85%. It is recommended that training be held periodically, guidance from lecturers be strengthened, and collaboration with scientific journals be expanded. Continuous evaluation is also necessary to ensure program effectiveness and necessary improvements. It is hoped that this activity can continue to be developed to provide greater benefits for students in improving the quality of their scientific work.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MI Al-Awwal Palembang, with a particular focus on how the curriculum reform addresses the actual learning needs of students in the context of Islamic education. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through classroom observations, teacher and student interviews, and analysis of instructional documents. The findings reveal that the curriculum implementation has generally been effective, supported by well-developed instructional tools, diverse teaching methods, and conducive classroom environments. Nonetheless, several challenges persist, including the limited integration of digital learning media, inconsistent student engagement, and a lack of authentic assessment that reflects the spiritual and moral dimensions of Islamic education. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on curriculum reform in Islamic elementary education and offers practical recommendations for aligning the Merdeka Curriculum more effectively with the religious and academic learning needs of students. Penelitian ini menganalisis implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di MI Al-Awwal Palembang, dengan fokus pada bagaimana reformasi kurikulum tersebut menjawab kebutuhan belajar peserta didik dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif digunakan dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta analisis dokumen pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kurikulum secara umum telah berjalan efektif, ditunjang oleh perangkat ajar yang terstruktur, metode pengajaran yang bervariasi, dan suasana kelas yang mendukung pembelajaran. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan, antara lain keterbatasan pemanfaatan media pembelajaran digital, keterlibatan siswa yang belum konsisten, serta kurang optimalnya penerapan penilaian autentik yang mencerminkan dimensi spiritual dan moral dalam pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap diskursus reformasi kurikulum pada pendidikan dasar Islam serta menawarkan rekomendasi praktis untuk menyelaraskan Kurikulum Merdeka dengan kebutuhan belajar religius dan akademik peserta didik.

Abstract

Perundungan atau bullying adalah tindakan kekerasan yang sering terjadi di lingkungan sekolah termasuk ditingkat sekolah dasar. Tindakan ini dapat berupa intimidasi fisik, verbal maupun tekanan psikologis yang dilakukan secara berulang dengan tujuan mendominasi korban. Peningkatan kasus perundungan di sekolah dalam beberapa tahun terakhir menunjukkan perlunya metode yang efektif dalam mendeteksi dan menganalisis perilaku perundungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan perilaku perundungan di SDN Kiarapayung 1 menggunakan metode klasifikasi Naïve Bayes. Prosedur penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD), yang mencakup data selection, data pre-processing, data transformation, data mining, evaluation, serta knowledge presentation. Dataset yang digunakan diperoleh dari pengamatan langsung kepada siswa kelas I hingga VI, dengan variabel utama meliputi kekerasan fisik, verbal, psikologis, pengalaman perasaan siswa, dan kenyamanan siswa di sekolah. Data diklasifikasikan ke dalam dua kategori yaitu Bully dan Non-Bully. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma Naïve Bayes mampu mengklasifikasikan perilaku perundungan dengan tingkat akurasi terbaik sebesar 85% pada rasio data latih dan uji 90:10. Evaluasi model menggunakan confusion matrix menunjukan nilai acuracy 85%, precision 77%, recall 91% dan F1-Score 83%.

Abstract

Low social skills make children less able to establish good interactions and choose aggressive actions. The low attitude of social skills is that it is difficult to control oneself well, and it is difficult to empathize and it is difficult to interact with others. Social skills are skills in interacting, communicating, and cooperating between humans and other humans. Social skills are very important for every child to have to form a quality relationship with the environment, because a child who has good social skills can express or communicate ideas or ideas so that others can understand what is being conveyed. The existence of social skills in children cannot be separated from parenting patterns, one of which is democratic parenting. Democratic parenting is parenting that emphasizes the needs of children, but does not hesitate to control them.The subjects used in this study were students in grades V and VI at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Fatah, East Lampung, with a total sample of 50 respondents who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method in this study used a social skills scale consisting of 26 items ( = 0.853 ) , a democratic parenting style scale consisting of 14 items ( = 0.776 ) . The data analysis technique in this study used the Pearson product moment correlation technique.The results of data analysis obtained a value of rxy = 0.671 with a significant level of 0.000 (p > 0.005), this indicates that there is a positive and significant relationship between students’ social skills and democratic parenting of parents. The effective contribution given by the democratic parenting style variable to the social skills variable is 45.01 %.Keywords: Social Skills, Democratic Parenting, Studentss Primary School.

Abstract

Emotion regulation is the ability of individuals to manage, control, and express their emotions in a healthy and adaptive manner. This involves the process of monitoring, evaluating, and modifying one's emotional responses in various situations to achieve optimal emotional balance. Therefore, good emotion regulation helps individuals cope with stress, interact with others, and make wise decisions. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and a literature review method based on twenty journal sources as the focus of the study. The results of this study provide a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of emotion regulation in high school students and help identify influencing factors and strategies to address these issues.

Abstract

Emotion regulation is an individual's ability to recognise, manage and express emotions adaptively in various life situations. In adolescents, especially high school students in Indonesia, this ability is crucial considering that adolescence is a developmental phase full of emotional and social challenges. This study aims to explore the dynamics of emotion regulation in high school students in Indonesia and identify factors that influence this ability. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a literature study method that reviewed twenty relevant national and international scientific journals. The selection of journals was based on the suitability of the topic, the quality of the methodology, and its contribution to the understanding of emotion regulation in the context of adolescent education. The results showed that emotion regulation in high school students is influenced by intrapersonal factors, family environment, peer relations, and academic pressure. This study specifically highlights emotion regulation strategies such as cognitive reappraisal, impulse control, and achieving emotional balance in the school environment. The novelty of this research lies in the contextual focus on Indonesian students and the emphasis on the importance of preventive and educative approaches in building emotion regulation skills as part of mental readiness for the future.
