Abstract

This study examines the impact of government policies on the distribution and quality of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in Indonesia, as a crucial component in efforts to improve the quality of education services during the golden age. Governmment policies such as the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 137 of 2014 concerning National PAUD Standards, tiered training, teacher certification, Teacher Professional Education (PPG), and the Teacher Mover program have significantly contributed to improving educator competency. However, the implementation of these policies still faces various obstacles, particularly related to the unequal distribution of educators between urban and 3T areas, limited access to education, and the low welfare of non-civil servant teachers. The study results indicate that government policies have increased teacher awareness of the importance of academic qualifications and professional competencies, but the impact on equity has not been optimal due to geographical factors and unequal regional support. This analysis emphasizes the need to strengthen the data-based teacher needs mapping system, improve ongoing training programs, and provide more appropriate welfare support for PAUD teachers. Therefore, collaboration between the central government, regional governments, professional organizations, and the community is key to ensuring the distribution of educators and improving the quality of PAUD services nationally. This study is expected to serve as a reference in developing more effective and equitable policies for PAUD educators in Indonesia.

Abstract

The issue of waste remains a serious challenge in Indonesia, particularly due to a lack of public awareness regarding the long-term impact of inorganic waste. The Community Service Program (KKN) of students from the University of Padang in Kubang Sirakuk Selatan Village, Sawalunto City, addressed this issue by designing and implementing the “Waste Decomposition Educational Board” program. The primary objective of this initiative was to raise public awareness through visual media that convey information about types of waste and their estimated decomposition times in nature. The implementation methods included site surveys, content design, the creation of educational boards using recycled materials, and their installation at strategic locations near schools and main roads. An evaluation was conducted 20 days after installation through direct interviews with residents, showing that the presence of the information boards effectively improved residents' understanding and behavior in managing waste. This activity also supports the achievement of SDGs points 11 and 12, particularly in creating sustainable communities and responsible consumption and production. The results of this program show that visual media-based environmental education in public spaces can be an effective tool for transforming community behavior toward waste issues.

Abstract

Abstract

This study addressed low learning outcomes and limited engagement in ICT subjects among adult learners in the Package B nonformal education program at PKBM Bintang Selatan Bersatu, Pesisir Selatan Regency. A Research and Development approach with a Design-Based Research orientation was employed to develop an AI-based e-module integrating adaptive feedback, interactive content, and personalized learning pathways. Thirty-seven seventh-grade learners participated through purposive sampling. Data were collected via expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires for tutors and learners, observation checklists, and pre-test/post-test assessments. Results showed high validity scores from experts, positive learner and tutor responses on usability and engagement, and significant improvement in learning outcomes (paired t-test, t(36)=11.27, p<0.05; N-Gain=0.49, moderate gain). Findings indicate that AI-supported features effectively enhanced conceptual understanding while supporting independent learning, although intervention duration and participants’ prior knowledge limited maximal gains. The study concludes that AI-based e-modules are a feasible and practical innovation for nonformal ICT learning, with potential for further refinement and long-term implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine various forms of common mistakes that parents often make in parenting, identify the factors causing these mistakes, analyze their negative impacts on children's physical, emotional, social, and moral development, and formulate strategies and practical solutions for improving parenting more effectively and positively. Problems with wrong parenting, such as inconsistency, over-indulgence, and lack of emotional validation, often occur without parents realizing it, potentially causing long-term psychological and social problems in children. The method used in this writing is a literature review (descriptive-analytical) based on the results of writing in the working area of Ulee Kareng Health Center and data from BPS (2024), as well as a review of theories of child development and parenting. The results of the study show that inappropriate parenting errors have significant impacts, such as decreased self-confidence in children, anxiety, difficulty socializing, and lack of independence, all of which emphasize the importance of responsive and consistent parenting. Therefore, parenting education and the implementation of positive parenting strategies that emphasize open communication, empathy, and consistency are essential to support optimal child growth and development.

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower rice farmers in Koto Padang Village, Dharmasraya Regency, through the application of appropriate technology in the form of a rice polishing machine (polisher). The main problems faced by farmers were the absence of local polishing facilities and dependence on rice milling units in neighboring villages, which increased transportation costs, processing time, and reduced product quality. The implementation method used a participatory technology approach involving lecturers, students, and the Rawang Bintungan Farmers Group. The activity consisted of several stages: field survey, problem identification, machine design using SolidWorks, fabrication, testing, training, and handover. The machine, driven by a 7 HP motor, has a working capacity of 300–500 kg/hour with 90–95% milling efficiency. Results show that the machine reduced operating costs by up to 30% and increased rice yield quality and polishing efficiency compared to traditional methods. Furthermore, 90% of the trained participants were able to operate and maintain the machine independently. This program demonstrates that collaborative innovation between universities and local communities can strengthen food security and farmer independence through sustainable technology transfer.
