Abstract

Changes in the background needs and welfare of human life have led to a shift in modern lifestyle patterns. The growing population has resulted in increased work productivity, along with various types of work activities and a rise in complaints of symptoms like low back pain. Low back pain, or lower back pain, is a complaint where the pain can be local pain (inflammation) or radicular pain in the lower back. This pain can radiate to other areas, or the pain can be felt in the lower back, or it can be felt on a different side of the body from the center of the pain and can be felt in a variety of ways. Occupation is one of the factors causing LBP. Incorrect work postures, for example, sitting static for a long time and not using ergonomic sitting positions, are one of the factors in the occurrence of LBP (WHO, 2013). The purpose of this research is to find out if there is a comparison of the differences in the effect of motor control exercise and William flexion exercise on pain in myogenic low back pain patients at the Ambalat Sesko TNI Bandung clinic in 2023. The design in this study was a quasi-experiment with a control approach of two groups, pre-test and post-test, used to compare two independent groups, namely group I (motor control exercise) and group II (William flexion exercise). The research location was at the Ambalat clinic, Sesko TNI, with a total sample of 20 people. The research data was carried out using the normality test with the Shapiro-Wilk test. After the data was normally distributed, a hypothesis test was carried out using the independent paired sample t-test to obtain a p-value of 0.901 > (? = 0.05). The results of the analysis showed that the intervention of motor control exercise and William flexion exercise had the same effect on reducing pain, and there was no significant difference between giving myogenic low back pain at the Ambalat Sesko TNI Bandung clinic in 2023.

Abstract

Stroke remains a major global health concern, ranking as the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability worldwide. Among the common residual effects faced by stroke survivors is impaired walking balance. To address this issue, this study investigated the effectiveness of core stability exercises in improving walking balance, as measured by the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test. The study involved 12 participants aged between 40 and 70 years and adopted a case study approach. A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was used. The dependent variable was walking balance in post-ischemic stroke patients, while the independent variable was the implementation of core stability exercises delivered through tele-physiotherapy.Statistical analysis using the Shapiro-Wilk test revealed a significant improvement in walking balance after the intervention. The results showed a pre-intervention mean TUG score of 17.500 (SD = 5.351) and a post-intervention mean of 12.333 (SD = 3.228), with a significance value of 0.000 (df = 12). These findings indicate a statistically significant difference in performance before and after the intervention. In conclusion, the null hypothesis (H?) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H?) is accepted, demonstrating that core stability exercises delivered via tele-physiotherapy significantly improve walking balance in post-ischemic stroke patients at Budhi Dharma Clinic, Kreshna Foundation.

Abstract

Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of physical disability in children. One of the most frequently cited definitions of CP is 'a group of permanent disorders in the development of movement and posture, which causes activity limitations, caused by non-progressive disorders that occur in the development of the fetal or infant brain'. Non-pharmacological approaches such as exercise therapy have been shown to be effective in overcoming the problems of children with cerebral palsy. One of the exercise interventions that has the potential to increase trunk stabilization is Treatment Trunk Stability Training. This technique works synergistically to target the trunk, improve gross motor function, trunk control, and balance, and will help better functional recovery in children with cerebral palsy. Objective: To determine the effect of Trunk Stability Training on Increasing Segmental Of Trunk Control Values in Cerebral Palsy Patients. Methods: This study is a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. A total of 13 subjects diagnosed with cerebral palsy underwent a two-week intervention. Measurement of trunk stability or trunk control was performed using Segmental Of Trunk Control (SATCo). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
