Abstract

This study aims to examines the impact of prostitution environments on children's mental development and evaluates the effectiveness of child protection programs in Indonesia. Studies show that children living in prostitution environments are vulnerable to psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, and social stigmatization. This study aims to analyze these impacts, assess the effectiveness of child protection policies, and formulate an intervention model based on psychological, social, and educational support. Through qualitative methods, the study involved participants from the village secretary and the head of the Pamandangan RT, who were selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and policy document analysis. The results showed that children in prostitution environments experience complex trauma due to violence, stigmatization, and family instability. Protective factors such as school support, mentoring, and the role of community leaders can increase children's resilience. However, the implementation of child protection policies is hampered by weak coordination between institutions and limited resources. This study enriches the child development model with an ecological and resilience perspective and offers guidelines for community-based interventions. In terms of policy, it is recommended to strengthen the synergy between the government, KPAI, and LSM through integrated monitoring and specific budget allocation for child protection in prostitution environments.

Abstract

This study aims to improve gross motor skills in early childhood through modifications to various jumping games. Technological developments have contributed to a decline in children’s physical activity, which consequently affects their motor development. Traditional jumping games, which can enhance balance, agility, and coordination, are increasingly being replaced by digital games. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model in two cycles, involving 20 children aged 5–6 years. Modifications were made to the game by adjusting the rules and equipment to increase children's engagement. The quantitative findings show an increase in gross motor skill scores from 1.5 (Emerging stage or beginning to develop) in Cycle 1 to 3.3 (Expected Level of Development or very well developed) in Cycle 2. This improvement was significant, with all children actively participating in the activities, indicating that the game modifications had a positive and comprehensive impact on various aspects of gross motor skills. The study highlights the importance of modifying traditional games as an effective strategy to increase physical activity and support children's motor development in the digital age.

Abstract

Background. The aim of this research is to carry out a comparison test on previous research and to find out the dominant technical actions in the 2023 Sea Games Cambodia elite level pencak silat competition which uses the new PERSILAT 2022 regulations. Method. This research method uses a quantitative approach based on observation-surveys on 9 elite athletes , 5 athletes in the men's category and 4 athletes in the women's category in pencak silat competitions from the preliminary round, semi-finals to the final. Data was collected through observing match videos by recording all technical actions (punches, kicks and falls) and analyzed using the SPSS application. Result. The research results showed that the comparison test from previous research had a side kick technique with a percentage value of 24%, a front kick had a percentage value of 18% and a slam technique had a percentage value of 28%. Therefore, this value is very significant and different from the results of previous research. In the 2022 PERSILAT regulations, the throwing technique is the dominant technique that is often used during pencak silat competitions. This can be seen from the overall percentage of athletes' techniques where slamming gets a score of 28%. Conclusion. The conclusions of this research can be a reference for coaches and pencak silat practitioners in preparing training program sessions by considering changes in each match and the effectiveness of athletes' tactics to achieve optimal performance.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of parental-teacher engagement in play-based mathematical learning on the motor development and health outcomes of preschoolers. The research is grounded in socio-cultural and ecological systems theory, responding to the growing need for holistic, collaborative approaches in early childhood education that integrate academic, behavioral, and physical domains. Using a mixed-method sequential explanatory design, the study was conducted over three months in three early childhood centers in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, involving 120 children aged 4–6 years, along with their teachers and parents. Quantitative data were collected using the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales–Second Edition (PDMS-2), a WHO-adapted Health Monitoring Checklist, and a validated observation rubric on adult collaboration. Results showed significant improvements in gross and fine motor skills (Cohen’s d = 1.98–2.63), and in health behaviors, including increased physical activity (+28%), healthier eating habits (+25%), and more consistent sleep routines (+13%). Based on semi-structured interviews and focus groups with 25 participants, the qualitative phase revealed themes such as strengthened home-school partnerships, embedded learning in daily routines, enhanced child engagement, and challenges related to time and resources. The study concludes that collaborative, play-based learning environments effectively support integrated child development, with sustained benefits when reinforced across home and school. These findings empirically support family-inclusive pedagogies and suggest the need for differentiated engagement models and longitudinal follow-up to maximize developmental outcomes.

Abstract

The problem with this research is that many students still need help understanding citizenship education and Pancasila learning. Many students need to be more active and able to think critically so they are less involved in learning interactions. This research aims to increase students' interest in learning about citizenship and Pancasila through problem-based learning methods. This research is experimental, with 32 grade 5 elementary school students as research subjects. Data collection tools use questionnaires and student learning outcomes. Data analysis used the t-distribution test. The research results showed an average increase of 28.12 points after the intervention or post-test. The data testing results answer the previously proposed hypothesis using the t distribution test with the core t count > t table (13.528 > 2.040), meaning Ho is rejected. These findings indicate that using problem-based learning methods increases students' interest and active learning in citizenship and Pancasila education subjects. This research contributes to solving the interest in studying citizenship and Pancasila education in elementary school education units, which were previously considered boring. Future research can test this in secondary education units.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the pros and cons of the discourse on the implementation of the latest pencak silat regulations passed by PERSILAT in 2021. The research method used was a mixed approach with a sequential exploratory model, beginning with qualitative analysis through documentation of public comments on social media, followed by a quantitative survey of administrators, coaches, athletes, and academics focused on pencak silat. The results indicate that the majority of respondents disapproved of the new rules. They argued that the rules failed to meet the expectations of practitioners, imitated other martial arts systems and risked diminishing the cultural uniqueness of pencak silat. When considering the pros and cons, this study revealed that those in favour of the new rules appreciated the efforts to modernise and internationalise pencak silat, particularly through technological integration, such as the use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system. Meanwhile, the contra group argued that the new regulations made the competition more complex and unsafe, and detached it from its traditional identity. Quantitatively, 83.4% of respondents favoured the old 2013 rules, while only 16.6% supported the new ones, emphasising a strong preference for preserving the sport's originality. These findings highlight the importance of a thorough review and stakeholder engagement before the new regulations are implemented more widely, particularly in Indonesia.
