Abstract

This study investigates the influence of liquidity, sales growth, leverage, profitability, and company size on the value of mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2017 to 2022. The research aims to address the problem of inconsistent findings in the existing literature, particularly within the mining sector, by examining these key financial variables' roles in determining company value. Employing a quantitative approach with descriptive and verifiable methods, the study utilizes secondary data from company annual reports, with a sample of 15 companies selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 90 observations. The analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression. The results reveal that leverage, profitability, and company size significantly influence company value, while liquidity and sales growth do not show a significant impact. These findings highlight the importance of effective leverage management and profitability enhancement in boosting company value, especially in the context of the mining sector, which is prone to external economic fluctuations. The study's implications suggest that company management should prioritize strategies that enhance profitability and manage leverage prudently, while also considering the unique challenges faced by larger companies. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the post-pandemic period, providing new insights into the relationship between financial factors and company value during an era of economic uncertainty.

Abstract

The relocation of Indonesia's capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan is a strategic initiative to address critical issues such as traffic congestion, land subsidence, and severe air pollution, highlighting the urgency of enhancing national resilience. This article examines the application of the smart city concept in developing the new Ibu Kota Negara (Nusantara Capital City/IKN), focusing on integrating information and communication technology (ICT), creativity, and community engagement in urban planning while also exploring how these elements can be adapted to IKN and how prospect theory can be leveraged to boost public acceptance. Through a literature review of global smart city implementations, the study finds that applying smart city principles in IKN can significantly improve public service efficiency, environmental sustainability, and quality of life. Prospect theory suggests that well-framed policy communication can increase public support and reduce resistance to change. This research offers valuable insights for policymakers, providing practical recommendations for effective communication strategies and highlighting the importance of adapting the smart city concept to Indonesia's unique socio-economic context to strengthen national resilience.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of credit disbursement ratio, low-cost fund ratio, efficiency ratio, and credit quality on Net Interest Margin (NIM) in the conventional banking industry in Indonesia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The formulation of the problems raised in this study includes how these financial ratios affect NIM in stable economic conditions and crises such as pandemics. The research method used is quantitative with a causal associative approach, using panel data from 46 conventional banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2017-2022. The study results show that the credit disbursement ratio did not significantly affect NIM before the pandemic but had a significant influence during the pandemic. The ratio of low-cost funds did not significantly affect NIM before or during the pandemic. The efficiency ratio significantly affected NIM in both periods, demonstrating the importance of operational efficiency in maintaining bank profitability. Credit quality only significantly influenced NIM during the pandemic, where high credit risk impacted increasing interest rates to compensate for such risks. This research makes a theoretical contribution by enriching the literature on banking risk management in crises. In practical terms, these findings reference bank management's strategic decisions to maintain financial stability amid severe economic challenges. The latest of this research lies in comparative analysis before and during the pandemic, which provides insight into financial dynamics amid a crisis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the net profit growth of the banking sector based on their core business, namely credit growth and growth in third-party fundraising in the period before the Covid 19 pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, bad debt growth is a moderating variable factor. The method used in this study is quantitative with moderating regression analysis with a sample of 34 banks. The results of this study are in the period before the Covid-19 pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the growth of third-party funds had a positive and significant effect on net profit growth, credit growth moderated by bad debt growth had a positive and significant effect on net profit growth, growth in third-party funds moderated by the growth of bad debt has a positive and significant effect on net profit growth. However, there are differences in the effect of credit growth on net profit growth in the period before the Covid-19 pandemic, which has a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, during the Covid-19 pandemic, credit growth had an insignificant positive effect on net profit growth. In addition, based on the determination test, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the influence of credit growth, third-party funds growth, and bad debt were not the main contributors to net profit growth. This is because, during the Covid-19 pandemic, bank profit growth was dominated by fee-based income. The implication of this research is to identify bank business prospects in the new normal period, which is dominated by fee-based income, so the banking industry must invest in developing digital banking to increase its profit. This study identifies that the banking industry's business in the new normal era has excellent prospects if it can change its business strategy from credit to fee-based income.
