Abstract

Lontar Yusup is an ancient manuscript that lives textually because it is still copied continuously in the form of handwriting and also lives Mocoan from the Javanese language which means reading. Therefore, some artists and the government of Banyuwangi Regency made a breakthrough in attracting the interest of the community and the younger generation to the cultural tradition of Mocoan Lontar Yusup by organising training for the younger generation. The purpose of this research is to be an important contribution to the development of effective cultural strategies, provide an understanding of the character values that exist in mocoan lontar, and ensure the continuity of a cultural heritage that is very valuable to the people of Banyuwangi. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative. The theory used is the theory of cultural inheritance by Edgar H. Schein. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study show that the application of Schein's theory in cultural preservation carried out by the Kemiren community is how they are more selective about the times so that many outside developments can reduce the sense of concern for tradition, one of which is this mocoan lontar tradition. With the existence of the community and the creation of a schedule for reading the Yusup lontar manuscript, the theory conveyed by Schein is very appropriate in shaping the character of the osing community. Mocoan members after participating in mocoan activities experience spiritual improvement and character values and feel the impact or blessing

Abstract

The development of digital local history teaching materials at Universitas Banyuwangi on 17 August 1945 is based on the need to digitise teaching material content, learning models, learning strategies and assessment instruments uploaded through e-learning and integrated into the Ministry of Education and Culture's SPADA. The local history learning process also often takes place conventionally so that it is not in accordance with the MBKM programme. The purpose of this research is to develop local history teaching materials in digital form to increase participation to improve learning effectiveness. The research method used uses the A.D.D.I.E. development model which includes five stages; Analyse, design, develop, implement, evaluate. Based on the results of statistical tests conducted using the SPSS programme, the average post-test score of the experimental class was 82 and the average post-test score of the control class was 74.2. While the t-test obtained a value of 6.621 with a significance level of 0.000 less than 0.025 (0.000 <0.025), so Ho is rejected or there is an average difference between the experimental class and the witness class. In conclusion, the developed local history digital teaching materials effectively improve learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Personalization in learning management system (LMS) is important as a learning environment to adjust the learning experience to the individual needs of students. This research and development aims to develop and implement an adaptive Learning Management System (LMS) for the Microteaching and Reflective Practice course at FKIP Untag Banyuwangi. This LMS is designed to personalize students' learning experiences according to individual needs, increasing the effectiveness and relevance of teaching. Microteaching gives prospective teachers the opportunity to practice teaching on a small scale, while reflective practice encourages them to analyze and improve teaching methods. The use of LMS allows students to study independently before face-to-face classes and reflect on their learning more deeply. This research and development focuses on creating a personalized learning environment using adaptive techniques that are valid and feasible to use as a student learning environment. This research and development uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model to develop learning resources that can be accessed according to student needs. The results of the study indicate that the adaptive LMS developed is valid and feasible to use as a learning environment for the Microteaching and Reflective Practice course. This LMS effectively facilitates personalization of learning and supports reflection and improvement of student teaching skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of lesson study in enhancing collaboration among faculty members in a higher education setting, specifically within the Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). A qualitative research method was employed, using in-depth interviews with five faculty members involved in lesson study activities. The findings indicate that lesson study provides a positive experience for faculty in sharing teaching ideas and practices, as well as increasing their engagement and motivation. Despite challenges such as time constraints and differing viewpoints, faculty reported significant changes in their teaching practices, such as improved responsiveness to student feedback and greater willingness to experiment with new methods. The study concludes that lesson study is an effective strategy for strengthening faculty collaboration and enhancing the quality of learning. Further support from the institution and additional training for faculty are needed to address existing challenges. Limitations of the study include the small sample size and specific context, which may limit the generalizability of the findings across all study programs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low motivation and learning outcomes of students in the Local History course, which has so far been dominated by conventional methods such as lectures and rote memorization, making the learning process monotonous and less engaging. To address this issue, the study aims to develop a gamification-based learning medium by utilizing Quiziz and Wayground applications as an innovative strategy to enhance the effectiveness, interactivity, and motivation of students in learning history. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The analysis phase focused on identifying students’ needs and the shortcomings of conventional learning methods, while the design phase formulated appropriate gamification elements for local history content. The development process produced a prototype that was validated by media and content experts, with average scores of 4.20 and 3.95, respectively, categorized as good. The implementation stage was carried out through a small-scale trial with 10 students and a large-scale trial with 30 students, resulting in positive responses with average scores of 4.05 for the small group and 4.18 for the large group. Furthermore, the effectiveness test was conducted by involving 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups, where the experimental class achieved an average score of 82.00, while the control class achieved only 74.20, with an independent t-test result of p = 0.000 < 0.025, indicating that gamification-based mobile learning is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of gamification with Local History content through mobile applications that allow students to access learning materials anytime and anywhere, thus making the learning of history not only more enjoyable but also strengthening their understanding of local values and nationalism.
