Abstract

Perkembangan media digital telah mengubah cara generasi muda dalam mengekspresikan dan melestarikan budaya lokal. Media sosial kini menjadi ruang strategis bagi komunitas mahasiswa daerah untuk mempertahankan identitas kultural di tengah arus globalisasi. Penelitian ini berjudul “Strategi Komunikasi Mahasiswa IKMASTI di UKSW dalam Mengangkat Budaya Lokal melalui Feed Instagram @ikmasti_salatiga”, yang dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya kreativitas mahasiswa asal Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) di Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) dalam memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai sarana representasi budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi yang digunakan IKMASTI dalam memperkenalkan, melestarikan, dan mengadaptasi budaya lokal NTT melalui media digital, khususnya Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian meliputi pengurus, anggota aktif, penasihat, serta pengikut akun @ikmasti_salatiga. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi digital, dan dokumentasi konten, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi IKMASTI terbagi menjadi lima pola utama, yaitu: (1) representasi budaya, (2) partisipasi digital, (3) komunikasi nilai budaya, (4) adaptasi digital, dan (5) jurnalisme budaya digital. Strategi ini sejalan dengan teori Cultural Representation (Hall, 1997), Participatory Culture (Jenkins, 2006), dan Komunikasi Partisipatif (Servaes, 2008). Kesimpulannya, Instagram berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai media informasi, tetapi juga sebagai ruang jurnalisme budaya yang efektif, adaptif, dan kolaboratif dalam menjaga identitas serta memperkuat eksistensi budaya lokal NTT di era digital.

Abstract

This article investigates the role of the Women’s School community in implementing peace initiatives in the outskirts of Lake Poso. These initiatives aimed to reduce tensions and prevent direct conflict between local communities and a natural-resource extraction company. The community played a dual role: engaging in negotiations with the company while simultaneously experiencing the negative impacts of its operations, including land dispossession and the submergence of traditional rice fields. The study examines these contradictions through the lenses of negative and positive peace and Feminist Security Studies (FSS), with particular attention to structural violence. Using a qualitative case-study approach, based on semi-structured interviews and participant observation, the research analyses women’s motivations, their moral dilemmas, and the broader impacts on surrounding communities. The findings reveal that the women’s community engaged in a form of “survival peace” in which community de-escalation efforts were contingent upon the company’s provision of stable employment for their children. The article underscores the importance of women’s peacemaking by drawing on FSS critiques of traditional, state-centered definitions of security. It further demonstrates how the women’s community redefined security by shifting it from a state-centered framework to the practice of “survival peace”, mobilizing their collective agency to secure short-term household economic stability through the company’s employment opportunities, despite the risks of long-term environmental degradation.

Abstract

This article investigates the role of social dynamics in influencing the quality of public services through analysis of social interactions between public service providers and the community. Through surveys covering various social, demographic, and geographic groups in Indonesia, research findings reveal that positive and responsive social interactions can significantly influence people's perceptions of the quality of public services. Apart from that, community participation in decision-making regarding public services also emerged as an important factor. Social and demographic factors such as age, education, gender, and location of residence also play a role in shaping these perceptions. The results of these findings include the importance of improving communication skills training of public service officers, supporting community participation, and designing responsive policies. This article advocates for a more holistic approach to improving the quality of public services by taking into account various social dynamic factors.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategies for developing human resources (HR) implemented by the West Java Provincial Legislative Council through international partnerships and cooperation. In the context of globalization and increasingly intense regional competition, Human Resource Development has become one of the top priorities for enhancing regional competitiveness. The West Java Regional Legislative Council plays a role as a legislative body and a strategic actor in regional diplomacy (paradiplomacy) by establishing international relations to support capacity building in various sectors, particularly education, industry, and technology. This study employs a qualitative approach using document analysis, interviews, and secondary data analysis from various cooperation agreements, including those with Chungcheongnam-do Province, South Korea. The findings reveal that the international cooperation facilitated by The West Java Legislative Council not only enhances access to education and training for the youth of West Java but also opens opportunities for internships, student exchanges, and technology transfer aligned with the needs of the local industry. This strategy demonstrates synergy between legislative policies and regional development directions focused on improving human resource quality. Additionally, The West Java Legislative Council promotes integrating global values into the local context, enabling West Java's society to adapt more effectively to global dynamics. Thus, international cooperation effectively strengthens the foundation for sustainable and highly competitive human resource development in West Java.

Abstract

This article analyzes the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Points 3 (Healthy and Prosperous Life) and Point 4 (Quality Education) in Jayapura City. The MBG Program is a local government policy focused on meeting the nutritional needs of students to improve health and support the learning process. This study used a qualitative literature review approach, drawing on books, government publications, research findings, and published articles. The results highlight that the MBG program has been well implemented in Jayapura City and has had a positive impact on improving student nutritional status, as well as school attendance and concentration. These results support the achievement of SDGs Points 3 and 4. However, several challenges remain in its implementation, such as budget constraints, uneven food distribution, and a lack of supporting infrastructure. Therefore, improved coordination between sectors, increased resource allocation, and ongoing evaluation are needed to ensure the program's effectiveness.

Abstract

Early detection and disease prevention are part of the health activities conducted at Sekolah Lansia Purbaya in Salatiga City, Central Java. A health survey on May 20, 2025, revealed that of 29 older women, most participants had hypertension (89.66%). In addition, 65.52% had a body mass index outside the normal range, and 58.62% had abdominal obesity. These conditions show the need for a community service program focusing on blood pressure management. This activity aimed to improve older adults’ understanding of hypertension through audiovisual education and exercise. A service-learning approach was used for 33 participants from Purbaya Senior Citizens’ School in Karangalit, Salatiga City. The activity included health needs assessment, program preparation, implementation, reflection, and evaluation. Participants received health examinations, took part in the Ngadi Salira hypertension exercise, watched the Healthy Heart and Controlled Blood Pressure (SEHATI) educational video, and had a group discussion. Health examinations in July 2025 showed that 60.61% of participants had stage 1 hypertension and 60.61% had abdominal obesity, while most had normal blood glucose, uric acid, and cholesterol levels. After the service-learning, all the participants reported enjoying the exercise session. During the discussion, many expressed interest in continuing the exercise at home and in applying the information from the educational video. The Ngadi Salira exercise and SEHATI audiovisual serve as educational tools for managing high blood pressure at the Sekolah Lansia Purbaya.

Abstract

This study explores the sustainability of local communities through the lens of the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework (SLF), focusing on the Sangiran Cultural Heritage Site—a protected area with high tourism potential yet persistent poverty. Using a qualitative case study approach with cross-sectional and comparative analysis, the research investigates how local communities utilize livelihood assets and transform their strategies in response to tourism development. Findings reveal that while natural, human, social, and economic capitals form the basis of community livelihoods, efforts to diversify through cultural and nature-based tourism face constraints. Limited financial literacy, restricted access to financing, and weak internalization of training hinder progress. Sustainable livelihoods depend on innovation, capacity building, strong social networks, and inclusive economic policies. The study highlights the need for future longitudinal research to better understand the dynamic relationship between tourism and community livelihoods.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang peran Dinas Sosial Kota Salatiga dalam menangani masyarakat penyandang disabilitas. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sejauh mana peran Dinas Sosial dalam mendukung pemberdayaan penyandang disabilitas, serta untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penghambat yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan tugas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, dimana data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan studi dokumentasi yang dilakukan terhadap pegawai Dinas Sosial dan masyarakat penyandang disabilitas di Kota Salatiga. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan secara sistematis guna mendapatkan gambaran yang akurat mengenai kegiatan dan kendala yang dihadapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran Dinas Sosial secara fasilitatif, edukasional, dan teknis telah berjalan cukup baik, tercermin dari penyediaan alat bantu, pelatihan kewirausahaan, serta peningkatan kapasitas petugas. Terdapat hambatan utama berupa keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, minimnya pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan keterbatasan dana yang memadai. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya peningkatan kompetensi petugas secara terus-menerus dan penguatan alokasi anggaran agar program pemberdayaan disabilitas dapat berjalan lebih optimal dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This community service research was motivated by the importance of strengthening the identity and professionalism of early childhood and kindergarten teachers at Agape Sumberejo School, especially amid limited facilities, teaching staff, and material rewards. This activity aims to strengthen the meaning of the call to service as a moral and motivational foundation in early childhood education practices. The method used is descriptive qualitative through field studies based on experiential learning, with participatory observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of teachers, church administrators, and congregations. The analysis was conducted thematically with triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the service showed that the internalization of the calling to serve was able to increase the commitment, professional resilience, and pedagogical consistency of teachers. The integration of professionalism and service values formed the identity of teachers who are ethical, relational, and oriented towards the continuous development of children's character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan strategi kebertahanan Sekolah Lansia Purbaya dalam perspektif teori AGIL Talcott Parsons. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan studi dokumen untuk memahami dinamika sistem sosial sekolah lansia. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña yang meliputi pengumpulan, kondensasi, penyajian, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberlangsungan Sekolah Lansia Purbaya terjaga karena terpenuhinya empat fungsi AGIL: kemampuan penyesuaian program terhadap kebutuhan lansia (Adaptation), keselarasan tujuan antara peserta dan mitra pendamping (Goal Attainment), terciptanya hubungan sosial yang harmonis dan suportif (Integration), serta terpeliharanya nilai, kebiasaan positif, dan semangat belajar secara berkelanjutan (Latency). Sekolah Lansia Purbaya terbukti memberikan dampak positif bagi kualitas hidup lansia, terutama dalam aspek psikososial dan pembentukan komunitas yang suportif. Namun, ditemukan tantangan terkait keberlanjutan peran pengurus yang mulai mengalami kelelahan serta belum adanya mekanisme regenerasi yang sistematis. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan studi lanjutan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif atau mixed-method untuk mengukur dampak program secara terukur serta perbandingan antar sekolah lansia guna memahami variasi dinamika sosial. Kajian mengenai peran keluarga dan komunitas juga diperlukan untuk memperkaya pemahaman tentang faktor pendukung keberlangsungan program.
