Abstract

Pros and cons of the benefits of IFRS adoption have become an ongoing debate following the inconclusive results of prior studies. Whether IFRS increase value relevance of accounting information or not, especially in developing countries is an interesting and relevance research question. Indonesia as one of the developing countries that committed to adopting IFRS has an interest in obtaining empiric evidence on the value relevance of accounting information after nearly five years of IFRS implementation.  This study aims to fill the need to enhance adopters' compliance with the standard. Ohlson Modified Model (1995) is used to test the value relevance of accounting information. Using longitudinal data of listed manufacturing companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), this study confirms that value relevance of accounting information increase after  IFRS adoption than before adoption. The results robust using Pooled Least Square and Random effect model.

Abstract

Land continuously planted with corn will decrease land quality. Good land quality is needed to support soil function as a growing medium and keep a sustainable environment. This research was aimed to identify the soil quality index at land unit planted with corn in Mungka, ,Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This research used an explorative descriptive method through land survey and soil analyses in the laboratory. The samples were taken based on purposive random sampling at each land unit under the same slope (8%). There were three land units being sampled, and those were corn-corn, corn-eggplant, and corn-cassava cropping pattern. Corn-corn ropping pattern had the best soil quality index (0.89), followed by corn-cassava (0.86), and corn-eggplant (0.85) on the top 20 cm soil depth. On the 20-40 cm soil depth, the soil quality indices 0.82, 0.82, 0.83, for corn-eggplant, corn-corn, and corn-cassava cropping pattern, respectively. The quality index of the land under the corn cropping pattern was considered good either on the top 0-20 cm or 20-40 cm soil depth. This was due to the addition of organic matter from poultry manure to the land regularly. Based on this research, it is recommended to apply OM regularly to corn cropping pattern to keep a good soil quality index.

Abstract

South Solok Regency is one of the potential areas for rice development in West Sumatra Province. The local rice in South Solok Regency is a type of rice that can potentially be developed for germplasm conservation. One genetic resource that needs to be developed is abiotic and biotic resistance to conserve germplasm so that the local rice plants in South Solok can be maintained on certain lands. The first step that must be taken in conservation efforts is to find, identify and collect local rice genotypes in South Solok Regency. This study aimed to explore and characterize the morphology of local grain and rice in Solok Selatan Regency. This study used a survey method, and the exploration location was determined by purposive sampling. The survey results found 18 local South Solok rice genotypes from four sub-districts. The results of grain morphological characterization showed differences in quantitative properties (length, width, thickness, and weight of 100 grains of grain and caryopsis and grain tail length) as well as differences in qualitative characteristics (lemma and palea color, rice color (caryopsis) and shape, rice (caryopsis). Dendrogram results from cluster analysis of 18 local rice genotypes of South Solok, the coefficient of similarity was between 0.27 – 0.64 (27 -64%) with the highest similarity coefficient of genotypes G013 (rambuman variety) and G016 (redek sangir variety) with a value of 0.64 (64%).
