Abstract

Background: Povidone iodine is widely used in wound healing, but it can cause irritation and cellular toxicity. Clitoria ternatea L. has the potential to contain compounds such as rutin, quercetin 3-O-rhamnoside, ternatin, and anthocyanins as natural alternatives in wound healing. In this study, the extract used contains anthocyanins. Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of Clitoria ternatea L. extract cream on the expression of Interleukin-6, Epidermal Growth Factor, and re-epithelialization in Sprague Dawley rat incision wounds. Methods: An in-vivo study with a post-test only control design was conducted on five treatment groups, including a control group without wounds (healthy), povidone iodine, and Clitoria ternatea L. extract cream (5%, 10%, 15%). IL-6 and EGF were analyzed using immunohistochemistry, while re-epithelialization was assessed using hematoxylin-eosin staining. Results: Clitoria ternatea L. extract increased IL-6 and EGF expression, with the highest expression at a 10% concentration. Re-epithelialization was faster in the treatment groups compared to both the positive and negative controls. Conclusion: The 10% Clitoria ternatea L. extract cream demonstrated efficacy comparable to povidone iodine in incision wound healing.

Abstract

Rice production in acidic soils is often limited by leaf blast disease and iron (Fe) toxicity. This study aimed to identify local rice genotypes cultivated in Solok Selatan that are tolerant to leaf blast disease and iron stresses at the vegetative stage. Ten rice genotypes, consisting of six local genotypes and four comparison genotypes, were tested under three levels of soil Fe content (11,393.12 ppm, 16,781.83 ppm, and 18,699.25 ppm) using a Completely Randomized Design with three replications. The observed variables were number of tillers, root length, leaf blast score, and Fe toxicity score. The results showed that Batang Piaman had the highest number of tillers (72.00), while Guliang Tandai Merah and Batu Hampar Putih had the longest roots (50.67 cm and 49.78 cm). Guliang Tandai Merah had the lowest leaf blast score (2.89), and together with Batang Piaman, also showed low Fe toxicity scores (3.56 and 3.22), indicating good tolerance. In contrast, Simauang and IR64 were the most susceptible against iron toxicity compared to other rice genotypes. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) explained 81.80% of the total variation and placed Batang Piaman and Cilamaya Muncul in the quadrant of high tolerance and good agronomic traits. Cluster analysis grouped the genotypes into three major clusters, with Guliang Tandai Merah and Batu Hampar Putih forming a distinct group based on strong root traits. Although no genotype was completely resistant, Batang Piaman and Guliang Tandai Merah are promising candidates for breeding programs targeting leaf blast and Fe toxicity tolerance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work supervision, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction on employee performance at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Iskandar Muda Medan Branch. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing SPSS version 26 for statistical analysis. The population comprised 79 permanent employees, sampled via census (non-probability saturated sampling) due to size under 100. Partial t-test results indicate significant positive effects: work supervision (t = 4.390 > 1.992), organizational commitment (t = 4.955 > 1.992), and job satisfaction (t = 2.238 > 1.992). Simultaneous F-test shows F = 69.885 > 2.73; thus, H1 accepted, H0 rejected. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 72.6%, with 27.4% explained by other unexamined variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work ability, work supervision, and personality on employee performance at PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Branch Belawan. A quantitative approach with a descriptive method was employed, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26. The population consisted of all permanent employees totaling 98 individuals, and a saturated sampling technique was applied, in which the entire population was used as the research sample. The results indicate that work ability, work supervision, and personality each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance partially. Simultaneously, these variables also have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination of 82.5% suggests that employee performance is explained by work ability, work supervision, and personality, while the remaining 17.5% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the influence of the principal's leadership, communication and teacher certification on the perception of teacher performance at SDN Pisangan Timur 01 Pagi. This research approach is quantitative with a correlation model. Data were obtained using survey methods. The population in this study are teachers at SDN Pisangan Timur 01 Pagi, a total of 30 teachers. The sample in this study is a saturated sample. The analysis used is SEM-PLS which consists of outer model, inner model and hypothesis testing using SmartPls 3.0 software. The results of this study show that the principal's leadership has no effect on teacher performance. Communication and teacher certification have an influence on teacher performance. Good communication between fellow teachers and their leaders can improve the performance of teachers in schools. The benefits provided through certification can motivate a teacher to be a better teacher for his students. Abstract

Sorghum is a perennial food crop that has great potential for development in Indonesia. The development of sorghum will increase land productivity, supporting the development of sustainable agriculture and enhancing Indonesian food production. The research findings establish sorghum as an ideal choice for enhancing the productivity of arid, acidic, or otherwise unproductive lands, including former mining areas reclaimed. Through the assessment of land characteristics suitable for sorghum development as a biomass energy crop in West Sumatra, Indonesia, this research endeavors to facilitate the sustainable growth of sorghum cultivation within the region. This research aims to evaluate the suitability of land for sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Regency uses purposive sampling and survey methods. The results showed that peatland in West Sumatera, Indonesia has potential for the development of sorghum plants with average temperature characteristics 25-27 º C, rainfall <200 mm, air humidity <75%, good drainage, soil depth of peatland > 60 cm, pH 4.4 - 5.1 but low N, P and K nutrient availability.

Abstract

Soil fertility is one of the primary aspects determining agricultural productivity, especially in tropical mineral soils, where nutrient constraints frequently limit crop growth and yield. This study aimed to (a) assess and map the Soil Fertility Index (SFI) across different land units, (b) evaluate soil characteristics, and (c) analyze the major factors influencing soil fertility. A total of 21 soil samples from 14 land units were studied. The SFI was calculated using seven key soil chemical properties: pH, organic matter, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and aluminum. The results showed that soil fertility in the study area was generally low, with a mean SFI value of 21.53. Among the land units, two were classified as very low, nine as low, and three as moderate fertility. The lowest SFI (16.14) was observed in land unit pTls.2.Kc, while the highest (26.78) occurred in pTps.2.Hs. Only 34.50% of the area exhibited moderate fertility, with the remainder classified as low to very low. Principal component analysis revealed that four components accounted for 81.36% of the total variance, with the dominant factors ranked as follows: CEC>base saturation>aluminum saturation>K>Mg>Ca>Na>P>pH>soil organic carbon. High annual rainfall (5,064 mm/year) and predominantly moderately steep to steep slopes were the main agroclimatic and physical constraints limiting land use. The study highlighted that the SFI is effective in representing soil fertility status in tropical soils. The integration of suitable crops that are adapted to ecological conditions and the improvement of soil fertility based on key controlling factors are essential for utilizing the land.
