Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of cooperative learning model Number Head Together with the aid of a simple practicum tool on students' mastery of dynamic fluid. This research is a quasi-experimental research using the equivalent pretest-posttest design. The instrument used is a test of mastery of physics concepts in the form of an essay test with 8 questions. The results of data processing, obtained the average pretest score of mastery of physics concepts for experimental class students was 9.75 while the average posttest score was 22.4. The control class obtained an average pretest score of 9.15 while the average posttest score was 18.6. The results of an average increase of 48.62% for each class are in the medium category with the n-gain value of the experimental class using the Number Head Together model with the help of a simple practicum tool is 56.17% while the control class using the Number Head Together model is 41.07%. Analysis of the test data was carried out using a one-party t-test statistical technique to test the difference in the mean score of mastery of physics concepts with a significant level of = 0.05. The results of one-party analysis determine that there is an influence of the Number Head Together model with the aid of a simple practicum tool on students' mastery of concepts in dynamic fluid materials

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a Prediction, Alternative conceptions, Refutation, Observation, Comparison and Scientific explanation (PAROCS) strategy to change students’ alternative concepts on inertia concept. The research method used is the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). Participants were 30 students (15 boys and 15 girls, their average age were 15-16) in class X of a public high school in Sukabumi, West Java. The instrument used is a four-tier diagnostic test. Data were analyzed based on a 4D model and conceptual category. At the disseminate stage, it shows an increase in scientific concepts and a decrease in alternative concepts after the application of the PAROCS strategy. From this, it can conclude that PAROCS strategy can be developed to change students’ alternative concepts into scientific concepts. Further studies could not only use the PAROCS strategy, but also develop this strategy for different physics concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop integrated science teaching materials on energy materials with a contextual approach for junior high school students. The theme used in the teaching materials is the source of energy in life. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) based on the steps of the ADDIE model. The research was conducted through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The teaching materials developed were validated by material expert validators and media expert validators, then teaching materials were given to science teachers and 20 students to find out responses to the developed teaching materials. The data collection instrument in this study was a questionnaire/questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-4. The subjects in this study were grade VII students. The results of the assessment of teaching materials developed by material experts were 3.60 categorized as "Very Good", the average score of media experts was 3.53 categorized as "Very Good", the average teacher assessment score was 3.35 and categorized " Very Good", and the results of student analysis obtained an average score of 3.35 and categorized as "Strongly Agree". The results of the study indicate that the teaching materials that have been developed are suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis metode eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan the equivalent pretest-posttes design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen hasil belajar berupa tes pilihan ganda yang telah divalidasi melalui validasi ahli dan validasi item tes. Rata-rata tes akhir yang mengikuti model pembelajaran problem based learning adalah 16,43 dengan standar deviasi 3,05 dan rata-rata yang mengikuti model konvensional adalah 14,97 dengan standar deviasi 3,09. Hasil perhitungan statistik dari pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t didapatkan harga thitung sebesar 1,82 dan ttabel pada taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 58 adalah 1,67. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis metode eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Palu.

Abstract

This research is based on the behavior of students who are confused about explaining a natural phenomenon when taking electricity and magnetism courses. The covid-19 pandemic, which requires online courses, adds to the problems in improving the quality of learning in electricity and magnetism courses. As prospective teachers, physics education students with low concept mastery are certainly very concerned because they will teach it to their students. So this research aims to identify difficulties and recommendations for learning electricity and magnetism. The qualitative descriptive method is used to obtain a description of the problem, and obtain recommendations for effective and efficient learning. Learning is done online through zoom meetings and LMS.fkip.untad.ac.id. Data was collected by testing the mastery of the concept of electricity and magnetism. The test was given online to 40 students and interviews with 5 students as respondents. The results showed that the biggest difficulty of students in applying the concept of the potential vector was about 70%, analysis on the application of Ampere's law was about 47.5%, applying the concept of the field in a cylinder about 30%, and applying the Biot-Savart law was about 25%. It can be concluded that there are still many students who have difficulty mastering the concepts of electricity and magnetism after participating in online learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik (KAP) guru mengenai pendidikan pengurangan risiko bencana (PRB) dan persepsi mereka serta rekomendasi untuk penerapannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif berbasis survei potong lintang, studi lingkup lokal yang menggunakan kerangka kerja KAP-PR. Sebanyak 53 guru sekolah menengah berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini, yang terdiri dari 22 guru laki-laki dan 31 guru perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para guru memiliki pengetahuan dan praktik yang sedang, namun menunjukkan sikap positif yang tinggi terhadap pelaksanaan PRB. Selain itu, temuan korelasi di antara parameter KAP menunjukkan bahwa variabel pengetahuan memiliki korelasi positif yang sedang dengan sikap dan praktik, sedangkan sikap dan praktik memiliki hubungan positif yang tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para guru percaya diri dengan pengetahuan mereka tentang DRRE, tetapi tidak yakin dengan kemampuan mereka untuk mengintegrasikan DRRE dalam konteks kelas. Selain itu, para guru menyarankan agar PRB diintegrasikan dengan mata pelajaran Geografi, Agama, dan Sosiologi. Kata kunci: DRRE, Kerangka Kerja KAP-PR, Guru Sekolah Menengah Atas

Abstract

The purpose of this Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is to identify the cybergogy trends in cognitive psychology in physics learning from 2019-2023. The focus of this review includes research methods, technology used, links to cognitive psychology, and physics concepts. A total of 60 articles (60 articles indexed Scopus and 29 of them indexed Scopus and WoS) were used in this review using the Prisma guide. The analysis was carried out with the help of NVivo12 as well as percentage calculations. The results show that: 1) The research method used is dominated by quasi-experiments (22%); 2) The technology used in learning is dominated by virtual reality/lab (35%); 3) Most of the links with cognitive psychology are devoted to conception (33%), and; 4) Physics concepts that are widely used in research are dominated by concepts related to electricity and magnetism (27%). The results of this review indicate that research on cybergogy directly in physics learning is still minimal. However, if it is generalized to research on technology in physics learning over the last five years, it can be seen that the trend is quite good. Thus, the results of this review recommend further research in developing technologies that are popular in physics learning cybergogy, such as the development of virtual reality/lab or Augmented Reality.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of technology-driven simulations in improving high school students' practical skills in mechanical measurement within the context of physics education. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving control groups and pretest-posttest samples to assess students' understanding and application of mechanical measurement concepts. The results indicate that simulations significantly enhance students' accuracy and comprehension of mechanical measurements compared to traditional teaching methods. Notably, visual and kinesthetic learners benefit the most from using simulations prior to engaging in physical experiments. The combination of simulations and hands-on experiments was found to be more effective in developing practical skills than either approach alone. These findings underscore the value of integrating technology-driven simulations into physics curricula, particularly for enhancing learning outcomes and practical skills in mechanical measurement, with a specific advantage for learners with visual and kinesthetic preferences.

Abstract

Pembelajaran laboratorium pada dasarnya dapat dimodifikasi melalui inovasi dan kreasi guru mata pelajaran, namun tetap mengacu pada tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang bersinggungan dengan aktivitas praktikum laboratorium adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberi pelatihan kepada guru IPA SMP Negeri Kota Palu dalam merencanakan model PBL berbasis laboratorium. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2024 bertempat di SMP Negeri 15. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan meliputi penyampaian materi oleh narasumber dan dilanjutkan dengan praktik pembuatan modul ajar yang dipandu langsung oleh narasumber sebagai instruktur. Sehingga diharapkan peserta dapat membuat modul ajar dengan baik sesuai model pembelajaran PBL berbasis laboratorium. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah disusunnya sebuah modul ajar mata pelajaran IPA fase D oleh guru yang menjadi peserta pelatihan. Selain itu, modul ajar yang dihasilkan memuat unsur model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL), khusus aktivitas praktikum yang dilaksanakan di laboratorium. Pihak MGMP IPA Kota Palu mengharapkan kegiatan serupa dapat terus dilakukan, dengan menyajikan informasi terbaru terkait inovasi yang dapat dilakukan dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya dalam mata pelajaran IPA. Sehingga, guru dapat menyajikan bentuk-bentuk pembelajaran yang bervariasi sesuai dengan konten dan tujuan pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing differentiated learning based on learning styles on the improvement of student learning independence and critical thinking skills in science subjects, specifically on the topic of light, in grade V at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya. This research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method conducted on the entire population of grade V students at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of two classes with a total of 56 students. The results show that the application of differentiated learning based on learning styles has a positive impact on enhancing students' learning independence. This is evidenced by higher scores in the experimental class compared to the control class across five aspects of learning independence: initiative, self-confidence, responsibility, problem-solving, and self-control. Additionally, the results of the independent t-test indicate a significant difference between the average pretest and posttest scores of students' critical thinking skills in the experimental and control classes. The significance values for the pretest and posttest are 0.000 and 0.009, respectively, indicating that the use of differentiated learning based on learning styles can improve students' critical thinking skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that differentiated learning based on learning styles is effective in enhancing learning independence and critical thinking skills among students on the topic of light in grade V at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya.
