Abstract

Fertilization sometimes takes a long time due to the selection of mileage traveled in fertilizer distribution and coupled with the condition of  plantation roads that are partially damaged. The path taken is usually only a path that is memorized and is considered the shortest and optimal. The journey from one location to another by considering the shortest path is included in the problem of graph theory. To determine the shortest path to be traversed, you can use the Ant Colony algorithm, because it is optimal in determining short distances and can measure the minimum accumulated travel time close to optimal. This is a Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) problem, which is visiting all location points starting from the starting point and ending at the starting point again. This research was conducted on oil palm plantations of PT. Socfindo Bangun Bandar in fertilizer distribution. The sample used is 6 location points which are then solved using the Ant Colony algorithm where this algorithm adopts the workings of ants to get the shortest route. The use of the Ant Colony algorithm in this case is limited to one cycle or one iteration (NC=1) so that the best route is obtained while the first cycle is the fertilizer warehouse (V1) to block 55 (V4) then block 63 (V6) to block 61 (V5) then block 51 (V2) to block 52 (V3) and back again to the fertilizer warehouse (V1), and from this route can be modified again to the opposite route with a distance of 15.71 km. Because the resulting distance is shorter than the usual route, this can speed up the time used by trucks to distribute fertilizer so that trucks can be used by workers to transport harvested palm fruit.

Abstract

Designing the scheduling of lecture rosters is one of the common problems faced by all universities. The problem that often occurs as a conflict in the lecture schedule. Lecturers who teach courses, students cannot take certain courses because the lecture schedule they are taking conflicts with other lecture schedules. The main problem in this research is the design of lecture schedules which always conflict due to room availability and lecturer teaching hours. As a result, lecture scheduling becomes more complicated. The case study used is the scheduling of lectures for the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sumatera Utara, Medan in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. In this research, a bipartition graph will be formed based on the variables used, namely determining the variable index used in the course, teaching lecturer, teaching time, entry time, exit time, classroom, number of credits, semester and color. After that, the Welch Powell Algorithm will be used to solve the scheduling problem of a bipartition graph which is formed by creating nodes, membership matrix and the final result is a tabulation of the colored bipartition graph as the output of the scheduling. This algorithm also uses MATLAB software. From the results obtained, the algorithm provides an effective digital solution in designing lecture roster scheduling which is still done manually. This will help the mathematics department in overcoming the problems mentioned above. The research results will be explained detail in the results and discussion section.

Abstract

The climate in Indonesia, which is a tropical region, is always uncertain and makes it difficult to predict weather conditions. Weather conditions can be influenced by rainfall, air temperature, wind speed, air humidity and light radiation intensity. Rainfall is relatively high and varies throughout the year, the average monthly rainfall is around 150-300 mm in the rainy season and 50-100 mm in the dry season. There are several characteristics of rainfall, namely convective rain, frontal rain and orographic rain. For this reason, a method is needed that can solve problems in predicting monthly rainfall properties using the Monte Carlo simulation method. From this study, the results of the prediction of rainfall properties were obtained with 36 data from 2021 to 2024 which had a MAPE test result of 12.28%. The test results came from the average calculation carried out on the Monte Carlo method prediction with 5 variables.

Abstract

Rapid advances in communication and information technology due to globalization have had a significant impact on a number of industries, including the industrial sector. The industry is taking great advantage of the capabilities of this technology to search, store, distribute and present information. The ceramic sector in Indonesia looks increasingly promising every year. One type of building material that functions to cover the floor and beautify its appearance is ceramic. When choosing ceramics, consumers become confused because of the availability of various brands (vendors) with different themes and quality. When deciding on product quality, a decision support system can be implemented to offer a structured evaluation that assists stakeholders in the business and consumers in assessing high-quality ceramic options. DSS The complex proportional assessment method, or COPRAS, is used in system design. In improving the accuracy and efficiency of decision making, the COPRAS approach can evaluate several options and estimate them based on their utility level when attribute values ??are expressed in intervals. Based on the findings of this research, the application of the COPRAS method in the decision-making process to determine the best household ceramics can be used in selecting the best household ceramics by collecting data on ceramic criteria and the alternative used is the type of ceramic. The weights obtained for each criterion are then normalized which are then used to determine the Ui for each alternative, so that based on the results of this research the best household ceramics are obtained, namely Redhorse type ceramics with a Ui value of 100%, Fortuna type with a Ui value of 99.27%. , Prato type with a Ui value of 98.82%, Crystal type with a Ui value of 98.71%, Mulia type with a Ui value of 88.50%, Vancouver type with a Ui value of 88.24%, Murano type with a Ui value of 84.97% and the Virginia type with a Ui value of 79.77%.

Abstract

In running its business, the success of a company is largely determined by the quality of its employees. To obtain quality employees who meet the required qualifications, companies must carry out a selection process in recruiting qualified new employee candidates. PT. Delta Sukses Sejahtera is a private company that operates in the field of recruitment services. This recruitment service serves companies by taking over the job of recruiting candidates. Each assessment is taken into account and considered according to the company's needs. So far, the selection process for prospective employees has experienced difficulties because they are still comparing the test results of prospective employees one by one to determine potential new employees. This process takes a long time. Apart from that, the old employee selection system created an element of subjective assessment. So it is necessary to build a decision support system using the Weighted Product (WP) method as an alternative solution, so that it runs effectively and reduces the occurrence of subjective assessments. Weighted Product (WP) is a method in a decision making system that connects attribute ratings using a multiplication technique, where the rating for each attribute needs to be raised to the power of the relevant attribute weight before calculation, this process is similar to the normalization stage. Based on the results of this research, it shows that from the five orders of candidates for recruiting new employees, it can be seen that the scores obtained by each prospective new employee are not too far apart from first to fifth. In the first and fifth places, they have similarities in the final psychological and educational criteria. Where the first and fifth psychological test criteria have almost perfect scores.

Abstract

Mineral water is a type of water that contains natural minerals or other dissolved substances that can provide taste and health benefits. However, the selection of the most favorite mineral water among students is still not accurate. This is what makes the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method as data processing as the selection of the most favourite mineral water and generates a ranking of the weight calculation of the mineral water selection. The SAW method is used to solve qualitative problems in the selection of mineral water, comparing one criterion to another in order to assess each brand of mineral water in the UINSU Tuntungan area and provide the results of the selection of the most favourite mineral water. This study used 100 student data, 5 brands of mineral water, and 6 criteria, namely price, taste, packaging, water quality, brand, and availability. After determining the weight value of each attribute using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), each alternative is chosen using ranking. This technique facilitates decision-making and yields the optimum outcome. When it comes to selecting mineral water, the findings of this study offer the finest option.

Abstract

The 2004 Aceh tsunami was one of the deadliest natural disasters in modern history, creating extreme environmental conditions that were predicted to trigger major disease outbreaks. However, despite concerns from the World Health Organization (WHO) about waterborne and infectious diseases, no widespread epidemic occurred. This study explores the community-driven health strategies that contributed to disease prevention in the aftermath of the disaster. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with community members and local leaders across three sub-districts in Banda Aceh, each representing different levels of tsunami impact. Findings reveal that traditional knowledge, religious practices, and collective community actions played a crucial role in maintaining health and sanitation under crisis conditions. Behavioral adaptations included prioritizing clean water sources, boiling drinking water, filtering water through cloth, maintaining food hygiene, ensuring adequate nutrition, and emphasizing personal hygiene and sanitation. The study also highlights barriers to healthcare access, including infrastructure damage, medical staff shortages, and psychological distress, which affected post-disaster health-seeking behaviors. Despite these challenges, community resilience and social cohesion were instrumental in mitigating public health risks. The findings suggest that integrating local knowledge, religious teachings, and structured public health interventions can enhance disaster preparedness and disease prevention strategies in future crises. These insights provide valuable lessons for policymakers, humanitarian agencies, and public health professionals in designing culturally adaptive and community-based health resilience programs for post-disaster environments.
