Abstract

Background: The banking industry faces technological and economic pressures that affect employee performance. Job insecurity and job stress tend to reduce performance, while work engagement and motivation enhance it, making these factors important for effective HR strategies. Objectives: This study aims to examine the effects of job insecurity, job stress, work engagement, and motivation on the employee performance of XYZ Bank employees. Methods: The study was conducted using a quantitative approach with 127 XYZ Bank employees comprising the entire target population. Hypothesis testing was carried out using PLS-SEM analysis with SmartPLS software. Results: The results showed that job insecurity and job stress had a negative effect on employee performance, while work engagement and motivation had a positive effect on employee performance. Conclusion: The managerial implications of this study indicate that companies need to be transparent with employees about organizational conditions so that employees can understand and anticipate when the company will implement efficiency measures, thereby preventing feelings of job insecurity in the workplace.

Abstract

Background: Employee performance is a key determinant of sales improvement and is significant in the automobile industry, as marketing/sales personnel directly interact with customers during the sales process. From 2020 to 2024, PT. ABC dealerships in Bogor had an achievement rate of only 49.2% to 92.8%, and Depok 50.5% to 85.6%, thus showing a performance gap and untapped potential in Bogor and Depok. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of work motivation, job training, job satisfaction, and compensation on the performance of sales employees (salespersons) at PT. ABC automobile dealerships in the Bogor and Depok area. Methods: The research respondents were 288 sales employees from a total of 306 sales employees of PT. ABC outlets in the Bogor and Depok area. The study employed a quantitative research approach, with SEM-based analysis using AMOS as the data analysis technique. Results: The results show that career development, compensation, and job satisfaction respectively have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Though, work motivation and job training do not affect employee performance. The model results suggested that career development (β=0.138, p=0.003), compensation (β=0.254, p=0.001), and job satisfaction (β=0.181, p=0.014) were significant predictors of work performance. Conclusion: Training has no impact on job satisfaction and performance, whereas career development and compensation enhance the job satisfaction and performance of employees. Motivation boosts satisfaction but does not lead to improved performance. These relationships are partially mediated by job satisfaction. PT. ABC needs to improve career paths, compensation transparency, and recognition systems.

Abstract

Rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainable technologies are transforming smart industries, yet many organizations still struggle to establish governance mechanisms that ensure responsible adoption while contributing to carbon-reduction objectives. This study aims to examine how AI governance frameworks support sustainable technology adoption and promote carbon reduction across smart industrial environments. Using a mixed-methods research design, the study integrates a systematic literature review, expert interviews, and quantitative assessment of governance maturity to explore the relationship between governance structures, sustainability practices, and emission reduction outcomes. The empirical data were collected through semi-structured expert interviews and a structured survey involving 150 professionals from manufacturing, logistics, and energy sectors, representing managerial, technical, and governance roles within smart industry environments. The findings reveal that AI governance significantly enhances the effectiveness of sustainable technology deployment, particularly through standardized accountability mechanisms, transparent decision-making models, and proactive risk-management protocols. Organizations with higher governance maturity not only adopt sustainable technologies more efficiently but also demonstrate measurable decreases in operational carbon intensity. These results suggest that robust AI governance serves as a critical enabler for sustainable industrial transformation, ensuring that AI driven innovations align with environmental objectives and long-term strategic value. The study concludes that strengthening AI governance frameworks can accelerate responsible technology integration in smart industries, offering practical pathways for carbon reduction and sustainable competitiveness. Future research is encouraged to investigate cross-industry implementation models and develop governance metrics that better capture environmental impacts in evolving digital ecosystems.

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the low level of understanding among creative economy actors in developing product branding and utilizing e-commerce as a digital marketing medium, which has resulted in limited business competitiveness amid the development of the digital market. Based on this condition, the program aims to analyze the contribution of branding and e-commerce training in improving the capacity of creative economy actors as well as the effectiveness of digital product promotion. The activity was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation, along with pre- and post-training evaluations to identify changes in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results of the community service involving 42 participants indicated an improvement in participants' ability to build brand identity, enhance product appearance and presentation, and manage marketing through e-commerce platforms in a more structured and effective manner, accompanied by increased confidence in promoting products and expanding market reach. The discussion confirms that the integration of branding and e-commerce training is an effective strategy in strengthening the creative economy as it improves competitiveness, digital readiness, and the sustainability of creative business actors. Therefore, branding- and e-commerce-based training programs need to be developed continuously through collaboration among academics, government, and industry practitioners to support adaptive and sustainable creative economic growth.
