Abstract

Anemia can hurt pregnant women and fetuses. Pregnant women who experience anemia can cause complications during pregnancy and childbirth. The impact on pregnant women is the labor process that takes a long time, bleeding, and shock due to contractions. Adverse effects on the fetus are premature birth, low birth weight, damage to the placenta, mental development problems, and stillbirth. This study aims to review the evidence related to the effect of health promotion with video media on knowledge and behavior about anemia in pregnant women. The Scoping review uses the Framework from Arksey and O'Malley, which focuses on the review with the PEOS framework, conducts literature searching databases and relevant gray literature, selects relevant studies using inclusion and exclusion criteria, conducts critical appraisals to assess article quality, performs data extraction, analyze and report results. 8 literature were selected and had Grade A. Results of scoping review Factors that influence anemia in pregnant women are age, education, occupation, and parity. Health promotion can increase knowledge and behavior about anemia in pregnant women. Risk factors for anemia have an impact on pregnant women and fetuses. Based on the results of the scoping review, it was found that gaps in this study were about health promotion with video media about anemia in pregnant women more than the influence of knowledge on factors that influence anemia in pregnant women, namely education, influence, and behavior, and the impact of anemia on pregnant women. There are still few studies examining the impact of anemia on the fetus. Factors that affect anemia in pregnant women are age, education, occupation, and parity. Health promotion can increase knowledge and behavior about anemia in pregnant women. Risk factors for anemia have an impact on pregnant women and fetuses. Suggestion: It is necessary to apply policies to reduce the incidence of anemia in pregnant women and provide programs to prevent anemia in pregnant women.

Abstract

Fetal growth monitoring can be observed by measuring the Symphysis-Fundal Height (SFH). To determine fetal growth, the SFH measurement is calculated into the Estimation Fetal Weight (EFW) formula. EFW formulas using SFH measurements include the Niswander method and the Risanto formula. This study aims to compare the results of the calculation of the EFW formula which is closest to the birth weight of the baby. This study is a comparative descriptive study with a cross-sectional design, which measures the SFH and weighs the baby's birth weight directly. The population of this research is pregnant women who will give birth at RSUD Soewondo Kendal. A total of 176 samples were taken using a consecutive sampling technique. The results of the independent t-test showed that the Risanto formula had no difference in the birth weight of the baby, while the Niswander method had a significant difference in the actual birth weight of the baby.

Abstract

Background: Early marriage in adolescents is widely found and it results in a poor risk to the newborn infants they delivered. Yet, scoping review research concerning the health impacts on the children born was not commonly found. Most of the scoping review research merely discussed the impact of adolescents. Purpose: To determine the impacts of early marriage on children's health. Method: The literature study employed scoping review approach by adapting the PRISMA-ScR checklist and using the PEOS framework mentioning “early marriage and readiness to be a parent” “early marriage” “risk factor for early marriage on adolescent reproductive readiness” “reproductive health in children who marry early” “toddler development in early marriage”. Five databases were used in this study: Willey, Science Direct, Pubmed, Proquest, and Google Scholar. The data selection was conducted using a flowchart prism and critical appraisal tool of Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Result: Based on the search of 486 articles, there were ten articles relevant to the purpose of this study and hence included in scoping review. Three themes were then selected based on the mapping results considering role and health of young mothers, toddlers’ condition, environment and economy. Conclusion: Children born to adolescent mothers tend to have poor nutrition and development, such as developmental delay, anemia, and stunting. This is due to both mothers’ developing psychology and body, so they are most likely not ready to look after the children and family. Metode: studi literatur ini menggunakan pendekatan scoping review yang diadaptasi dengan PRISMA-ScR checklist, menggunakan framework PEO’s yaitu “early marriage and readiness to be a parent” “early marriage” “risk factor for early marriage on adolescent reproductive readiness” “reproductive health in children who marry early” “toddler development in early marriage”.

Abstract

Hormonal contraception is very effective in preventing pregnancy, but this contraception has various side effects. The objective is to determine how hormonal contraceptive use affects sexual dysfunction in women. In this research, the author follows the Arksey and O'Malley framework by identifying questions, identifying relevant articles, selecting and selecting papers, mapping data, discussing, concluding, and reporting results. The prism flowchart displays the flow of article searches on four databases: PubMed, Wiley, EBSCO, and ProQuest. This Scoping Review found 14 articles out of 1441 selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria into three themes. Hormonal changes due to using Combined Hormonal Contraceptive (CHC) contraception negatively affect sexual life, namely increasing Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) and decreasing free testosterone. The effect of hormonal contraceptives on female sexual dysfunction decreases libido, pleasure, orgasm, difficulty in lubrication, and vaginal dryness. Other factors affecting women's sexual function include age, education, premenopause, marital status, consumption of antidepressants, differences in partner age, income, and household harmony. CHC hormonal contraceptives cause sexual dysfunction in women due to decreased androgen hormones in the ovaries.
