Abstract

The era of digital disruption has introduced a new paradigm in the governance of educational institutions. Challenges are no longer focused solely on administrative efficiency but also on the institution's ability to maintain the humanistic essence within the learning process. This article aims to deeply examine the synergy between effective educational institution governance and the implementation of an Educational Management Information System (EMIS) grounded in a humanistic approach. Through a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis, the article identifies the principles of good governance that must serve as the foundation for educational institutions, including transparency, accountability, responsiveness, fairness, and effectiveness. Furthermore, this article explores the evolution of EMIS from merely an administrative tool to a strategic information ecosystem capable of supporting learning personalization, teacher empowerment, and increased engagement from parents and the community. The main focus of this article is on how EMIS can be designed and implemented not as an instrument of control, but as a means of empowerment for all educational stakeholders students, teachers, staff, and leadership. The analysis also examines implementation challenges, such as the digital divide, human resource readiness, and data security ethics, which are crucial considerations in maintaining the balance between technological innovation and humanistic values. The article concludes that the governance of future educational institutions requires an integrated humanistic technological vision, where technology serves to expand human capacity, not to replace it. Practical recommendations and directions for future research are also presented to provide guidance for education stakeholders in navigating this complex and dynamic landscape.

Abstract

Abstract: Stunting remains a persistent public health issue in Indonesia and is closely linked to anemia among adolescent girls and limited household access to nutritious foods. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen the role of adolescent girls in stunting prevention by improving the knowledge of health and youth cadres and promoting the use of home gardens as nutrition sources. Conducted in Palu City, the program involved 29 participants and utilized interactive education supported by leaflets. Knowledge levels were assessed using pre- and post-tests. Findings showed a significant improvement in cadre knowledge regarding anemia, stunting, and home garden utilization (p = 0.001). The program also encouraged cadres to revitalize home gardens to increase the availability of nutrient-rich foods. These results demonstrate that structured education effectively enhances community capacity for stunting prevention and underscores the importance of sustaining such initiatives through continued mentoring and practical implementation.

Abstract

The current research aims to examine the impact of guided inquiry-based learning on elementary school students' critical thinking. A quasi-experimental research design with one group pre-test and post-test was employed. The participants were 24 elementary school students selected based on the convenience sampling method. Pre and post-tests were given to the participants, and the data gathered was analysed through a paired sample t-test. The result of the paired sample t-test is significant with a p-value < .001, indicating the significant increase in the difference between the pre-test and post-test of the students' critical thinking. Other than that, the standard deviation of the difference is 10.60, with a standard error of 1.53, with the mean difference between posttest and pretest being 77.33 points, indicating the different result of the posttest with the pretest. Furthermore, the values 2.08 for Cohen’s d and 2.01 for Hedges’ correction indicate that the guided inquiry module had a strong and meaningful impact on enhancing students’ critical thinking abilities. In this case, the hedges and Cohen’s d value emphasise the significance of guided inquiry-based learning for the development of students’ critical thinking. Therefore, the current research confirms the significance of the use of guided inquiry-based learning to improve elementary school students' critical thinking.

Abstract

Food security is a multidimensional problem in a country, with physical and economic access being important factors in determining conditions at the household and individual levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of household food security and nutrition based on sociodemographics, socioeconomics and gender. This type of research uses a cross sectional design. The samples in this study were 300 samples from the province of Central Sulawesi, 150 samples from rural areas and 150 samples from urban areas, selected using clustered sampling. Data were analyzed using quantitative data analysis , P-value of less than 0.05 would be considered significant. The prevalence of food insecurity was higher in rural households (31.3%) than in urban households (18.6%). Maternal nutritional knowledge and individual decision-making on food menus were significant predictors of household food security (p<0.05). Stunting was associated with inadequate energy and protein intake in children and limited women’s empowerment in household food allocation. Most households reported coping strategies such as relying on cheaper foods and reducing meal portions. The conclusion of this study is that food insecurity is associated with low maternal nutritional knowledge and individual decision making about food menus. The incidence of stunting in households in Central Sulawesi is associated with low energy and protein adequacy of children and inadequate empowerment of women in the household
