Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of green campus initiatives at universities in Indonesia, with particular emphasis on how islamic economic principles can further support environmental sustainability. Using the national level UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in the category of Most Sustainable University, three universities were selected as researh samples. This field research employed interviews and documentation from sustainability reports and official university websites. The implementation of the green campus was measured using four key instruments: Environmental Awareness, Environmental Involvement, Environmental Reporting, and Environmental Auditing. The findings indicate that all three universities have implemented the stages of environmental awareness, involvement, and reporting, but have not fully implemented environmental auditing. Participation in the UI GreenMetric reflects increasing awareness of sustainability issues among universities and their surrounding communities. Notably, University X demonstrated the highest level of implementation across the four green campus indicators. Futhermore, islamic economic principles such as moderation (wasatiyyah), stewardship (khalifah), and social responsibility (maslahah) offer an ethical and moral foundation to strengthen sustainability efforts in islamic universities. These principles promote the responsible use of resources, discourage wastefulness (israf), and encourage equity in resource management. Legitimacy theory supports the notion that organizations must align with societal and environmental value systems, as greater responsibility towards the environment enhances their reputation and public trust. Therefore, integrating islamic economic values into green campus initiatives not only aligns with global sustainability practices but also positions universities as ethical leaders in promoting environmental consciousness

Abstract

Economic globalization has brought Indonesia into the flow of global economic integration, strengthening interconnectedness between countries and increasing the intensity of competition and investment flows, both domestic and international. In this context, real investment is a vital component for national economic growth, but remains influenced by dynamic fluctuations in exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates. This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates on real investment in Indonesia for the period 2004–2023, highlighting their relevance from an Islamic economic perspective. This study uses a quantitative approach with 20 years of time series data obtained from Bank Indonesia and the Central Bureau of Statistics, and applies the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to examine the short-term and long-term relationships between variables. The results show that in the long run, the exchange rate and inflation have a negative and significant effect on real investment, while interest rates have a positive and significant effect. Conversely, in the short run, only inflation has been shown to have a significant negative effect on real investment, while the exchange rate and interest rates have no significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of exchange rate stability and inflation control in creating a conducive investment climate, as well as the need for adaptive policies related to interest rates. From an Islamic economic perspective, exchange rate stability, inflation control, and the elimination of interest rates (riba) are crucial for encouraging fair and sustainable real investment, thus supporting inclusive economic growth in accordance with the principles of justice and balance.

Abstract

Introduction: The development of digital technology, especially fintech payments, has facilitated transactions and made financial management more digital and flexible. This study aims to analyse the role of financial literacy mediation in the relationship between financial technology payment and financial attitudes towards changes in people's economic behaviour, considering the Islamic business perspective. Methods: Using a quantitative approach with the SEM-PLS analysis technique, 100 respondents were surveyed through a Google form using a purposive sampling technique. The results show that fintech payment and financial attitude intentionally increase financial literacy, which then has a positive effect on changes in people's economic behaviour. Results: This study found that financial literacy partially mediates the relationship between fintech payments and financial attitudes, influencing changes in people's financial behaviour. Although the direct influence of fintech payments and financial attitudes on changes in financial behaviour has proven to be more dominant, the mediating role of financial literacy remains significant, which shows that increasing financial literacy encourages wiser and more responsible financial behaviour. From an Islamic perspective, financial literacy acts as a mediator, connecting fintech payments and financial attitudes to change people's financial behaviour by applying sharia principles such as honesty, justice, and the prohibition of usury. Islam's emphasis on business ethics, including transparency and price fairness, is reflected in e-commerce regulations to create a fair and trustworthy digital ecosystem. Abstract

The existence and authenticity of hadith have become two of the most essential objects in the discourse of hadith among Muslims, especially after coming into contact with criticism from Orientalists. This article describes explicitly and criticizes Azami's hadith thought in the hadith debate among Orientalists. This research is an analytical descriptive research based on content analysis. The results reveal that Azami can position himself as a critic of the Western thesis by presenting historical data as a basis for his thoughts. The rhythm of the scientific debate modeled on by Western thinkers can be dived into and followed convincingly so that their responses and criticisms reach the Orientalists. Orientalists believe that Azami's criticism has not been able to divert the orientation of the general thesis that hadiths are not historically authentic. Azami's defense still needs convincing, and the arguments are still circular. This model of thinking has yet to satisfy the scientific desires of the Orientalists, so it has a small implications.

Risk perception also has a positive and significant effect, which shows that respondents can manage risk wisely and are not easily hindered by it in making investment decisions. Return expectations show a positive and significant influence, where the greater the expectation of investment returns, the stronger the intention to invest. Abstract

Abstract

Unemployment is one of the key indicators in assessing a country's economic stability, including within the ASEAN region. Interest rates, international trade, and exchange rates are among the factors that influence the level of unemployment. In Islamic economics, unemployment is not only viewed as an economic problem but also as a form of social injustice that must be addressed through a sharia-based approach. This study aims to analyze the influence of interest rates, international trade, and exchange rates on the unemployment rate in five ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore) from the perspective of Islamic economics. This research employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression methods, processing secondary data from 2018 to 2024. The selection of the analytical model was carried out through the Chow and Hausman tests, which indicated that the Fixed Effect model was the most appropriate. The results of the study show that interest rates have a positive and significant effect on unemployment (0.0169 < 0.05), and exchange rates have a negative and significant effect on unemployment (0.0000 < 0.05), while international trade does not have a significant effect (0.1103 > 0.05). Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect on unemployment (0.000045 < 0.05). From an Islamic perspective, the solution to unemployment emphasizes fair wealth distribution, the prohibition of riba (usury), and the implementation of profit-sharing systems such as mudharabah and musyarakah.
