Abstract

Introduction: Digital health information systems are a key strategy for improving the quality and efficiency of primary health care services. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the e-Puskesmas application in improving Primary Health Center performance in Merangin District. Methods: A qualitative study with an exploratory design was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews involving informants from the district health office and selected primary health centers. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation techniques. Results and Discussion: The implementation of e-Puskesmas was supported by human resources, infrastructure, financial allocation, and policy support from the district health office. The application contributed to improving efficiency in data recording, timeliness of reporting, and management of health service information. However, several challenges remained, including inconsistent communication, limited resources, workload due to dual systems, unstable internet connectivity, and variations in digital literacy among health workers. Conclusions: The e-Puskesmas application has contributed to improving primary health center performance; however, optimization requires strengthening human resources, infrastructure, and data governance, as well as enhancing technical support to ensure sustainable implementation

Abstract

Introduction: Patient satisfaction is a key indicator of healthcare service quality, influencing trust and loyalty. The SERVQUAL model assesses service quality through five dimensions: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between service quality dimensions and patient satisfaction in dental health services. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Pakuan Baru Public Health Center, Jambi City, from April 2025 to March 2026. A total of 190 respondents were selected from 341 patients using systematic random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression. Ethical approval was obtained (No. 1159/UN21.8/PT.01.04/2025). Results and Discussion: Overall, 51.58% of patients were satisfied. Significant associations were found between tangible (POR=7.37), reliability (POR=2.87), assurance (POR=4.76), and empathy (POR=5.87) and patient satisfaction (p<0.05). Multivariate analysis identified empathy as the most dominant factor (aOR=12.08; 95% CI=3.48–42.01). Conclusion: Service quality dimensions significantly influence patient satisfaction, with empathy as the strongest predictor. Improving interpersonal communication and healthcare facilities is essential to enhance patient satisfaction

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a critical nutritional issue among Indonesian adolescent girls. In Jambi Province, its prevalence shows a fluctuating upward trend, requiring a thorough analysis of risk determinants. This study aimed to determine CED prevalence and analyze its association with macronutrient intake frequency, infectious diseases, hygiene behavior, physical activity, and family size. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design with 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) secondary data. The sample consisted of 1,082 adolescent girls (10–19 years) in Jambi Province. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and Cox Regression to identify dominant factors and Prevalence Ratios (PR). CED prevalence was remarkably high at 56.1%, predominantly in the 15–19 age group (51.6%). Nutritional patterns showed infrequent consumption of carbohydrates (51.7%), fats (66.0%), and proteins (58.3%). While most respondents reported good hygiene and no infection history, bivariate analysis showed no significant association with CED. However, multivariate analysis identified light physical activity as the dominant factor significantly associated with CED risk (p-value: 0.045; PR: 1.45; 95% CI: 1.00–2.08). Physical activity is the primary determinant of CED among adolescent girls in Jambi. These findings highlight the urgency for comprehensive nutritional interventions focusing on energy balance and dietary quality.

Abstract

This study examined the role of psychological resilience and mental health in predicting entrepreneurial readiness among health students. Using a cross-sectional explanatory design, 412 students were recruited through purposive sampling from a faculty of health sciences. Data were collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), and an entrepreneurial readiness questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with model fit indices. The results showed that resilience had a strong and significant direct effect on entrepreneurial readiness (β = 0.929; p < 0.001) and on mental health (β = 0.992; p < 0.001). In contrast, mental health did not show a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial readiness (β = 0.062; p = 0.528). These findings highlight resilience as a central psychological competence that not only enhances well-being but also plays a crucial role in strengthening entrepreneurial readiness among health students. Therefore, strengthening psychological resilience through campus-based training programs and interventions may serve as a relevant strategy to prepare a more resilient generation of health students who are better equipped to face future challenges in both employment and entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with anemia among pregnant women in the working area of Kapau Public Health Center, Agam Regency, Indonesia, in 2022. The study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 126 third-trimester pregnant women were selected using simple random sampling from the population of pregnant women attending antenatal care services. Data were collected through structured questionnaires assessing knowledge, educational level, family income, and adherence to iron (Fe) tablet consumption, while anemia status was determined based on hemoglobin levels recorded in maternal health books. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The findings revealed significant associations between maternal knowledge and anemia incidence (p < 0.05), as well as between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and anemia incidence (p < 0.05). In contrast, educational level and family income were not significantly associated with anemia among pregnant women (p > 0.05). These results indicate that behavioral factors, particularly knowledge and compliance with iron supplementation, play a more important role in preventing anemia than sociodemographic factors. In conclusion, improving maternal knowledge and strengthening adherence to iron tablet consumption are essential strategies to reduce anemia among pregnant women. Health promotion and continuous monitoring by healthcare providers are recommended to improve maternal health outcomes.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a challenge in Indonesia, including in Jambi City. This condition is influenced by various factors. Objective: This study aims to identify factors associated with stunting among toddlers aged 24–59 months in East Jambi District in 2026. Methods: This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 1,861 toddlers, with a sample of 329 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results and discussion: The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between maternal history of KEK (p=0.000; PR=2.718), history of LBW (p=0.018; PR=1.698), early initiation of breastfeeding/IMD (p=0.026; PR=1.662), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.040; PR=1.591), time of complementary feeding (p=0.005; PR=1.877), immunization status (p=0.012; PR=1.758), and history of diarrhea infection (p=0.000; PR=3.654) with the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Conclusion: There is a significant association between maternal factors, infant feeding practices, health services, and a history of infectious diseases with stunting. Efforts to improve maternal nutrition education, optimize maternal and child health services, and prevent infectious diseases are needed to reduce stunting rates
