Abstract

The level of compliance with healthy eating patterns in Indonesia is still low even though various campaigns have been carried out, such as the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS). Low nutritional literacy, lack of motivation, and social and cultural influences are the main factors that hinder changes in people's consumption behavior. In this context, mobile applications emerge as a potential solution with interactive features such as food tracking, notifications, and visual education that are personalized and easily accessible. Previous studies have shown that approaches based on behavior change theories, such as Self-Determination Theory and Theory of Planned Behavior, increase the effectiveness of digital interventions in forming healthy eating habits. This study uses a literature review method with a qualitative approach to examine the effectiveness of mobile applications in increasing compliance with healthy eating patterns. Data sources were obtained from national and international journals in the last ten years (2015–2025), which were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the success of the application depends not only on technological features, but also on user-need-based interface design, integration of behavioral theories, and social and professional support. Therefore, digital nutrition applications need to be developed in a multidisciplinary manner to create an inclusive and sustainable impact in community nutrition interventions

Abstract

The study seeks to assess the impact of project-based learning on the ability of Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers (PGSD) at Muhammadiyah University of Sorong to design simple learning media. A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed, and the results showed a significant improvement in students' cognitive abilities after participating in project-based learning. Additionally, psychomotor assessments demonstrated highly commendable outcomes, with average scores surpassing the good criteria. Statistical analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test confirmed a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). These findings imply that project-based learning is an effective pedagogical approach for developing students' competencies in designing simple learning media, especially in regions with limited educational resources like Papua. Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' creativity at Sanggar Bimbingan Aisyiyah (SBA) Kampung Pandan, Malaysia, through the application of the collage method. The method used in this activity is participatory, involving 27 students from grades 2 to 5 in a series of workshops and direct practice. The results of the community service show that the collage method is effective in improving students' creativity, which is characterized by increased fine motor skills, logical thinking skills, and imagination and experimentation in creating works of art. Of the 10 students sampled, 5 students showed "Very Developed" creativity development, 4 students "Quite Developed," and 2 students "Not Yet Developed," with an average creativity score reaching 80. This activity concludes that the application of the collage method can be an effective community service strategy in improving children's creativity in non-formal educational environments and is recommended to continue to be implemented at SBA Kampung Pandan.

Abstract

Anak-anak cenderung menghindari ikan karena rasa dan aroma yang tidak disukai. Padahal, ikan kaya akan protein, omega-3, vitamin, dan mineral yang mendukung pertumbuhan serta perkembangan anak. Untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, dilakukan diversifikasi olahan ikan, seperti nugget yang lebih menarik bagi anak-anak. Program pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan di Kota Sorong dengan mitra Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah 2 dan melibatkan orangtua dan siswa. Kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi tentang manfaat ikan bagi kesehatan dan pelatiahn pembuatan nugget ikan. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai pentingnya konsumsi ikan, keterampilan dalam mengolah ikan, serta antusiasme anak-anak dalam mengonsumsi olahan ikan dari 28% saat pretest menjadi 85% pada saat posttest. Program ini tidak hanya mendorong pola makan sehat pada anak-anak tetapi juga membuka peluang pemberdayaan ekonomi melalui produk olahan ikan. Implementasi program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan konsumsi ikan secara berkelanjutan dan mendukung pembangunan sumber daya manusia berkualitas di Indonesia.

Abstract

Helminthiasis remains a prevalent public health problem in Indonesia, particularly among elementary school-aged children who are vulnerable to infection due to poor environmental sanitation and inadequate hygiene practices. This study aims to analyze the relationship between helminthic infection and nutritional status among students at SDN Polenga Jaya, located in the working area of the Poli-Polia Public Health Center. This research employed a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design and involved 32 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected through interviews, stool examinations to detect helminth eggs, and nutritional status assessment using the Body Mass Index-for-Age (BMI-for-age) index. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test indicated a significant association between helminthic infection and nutritional status (p = 0.012; α = 0.05). Conclusion: Children infected with helminths tend to have lower nutritional status compared to those who are not infected. Therefore, interventions through education, promotion of clean and healthy living behaviors, and regular health screenings are necessary to prevent helminthic infections and maintain optimal nutritional status in children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the problem-posing learning model with the Think Pair Share (TPS) setting on flat-sided solid geometry material in relation to students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence. The study employs a pretest-posttest control group experimental design. The sample was randomly selected, followed by a pretest to measure initial abilities and a posttest to evaluate learning outcomes. The research instruments include lesson plans (RPP), student worksheets, pretest and posttest critical thinking tests, as well as a self-confidence questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a t-test for critical thinking skills and the Mann-Whitney test for self-confidence. The results show that the TPS learning model is more effective than conventional teaching methods in improving students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence in the flat-sided solid geometry material at SMP 23 Sinjai. Based on pretest data for critical thinking skills and self-confidence between the experimental and control classes, no significant average differences were observed. However, posttest analysis results indicate significant values of 0.021 for critical thinking and 0.002 for self-confidence, both of which are less than 0.05. This indicates that the problem-posing learning model with the TPS setting is more effective than conventional methods in enhancing students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence

Abstract

Masalah yang diangkat pada penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa kelas VIII MTs Kota Sorong. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pembelajaran menulis puisi yang belum terlaksana dengan baik sehingga siswa kelas VIII mengalami kesulitan ketika diminta menulis puisi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan metode pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan tepat. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut digunakan metode ARCS dan media gambar peristiwa yang terdapat dalam surat kabar dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII Negeri Kota Sorong. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya proses pembelajaran, peningkatan, dan perubahan perilaku ke arah yang positif.

Abstract

Sumber daya manusia di Indonesia saat ini sedang tidak kompetitif dikarenakan tingkat literasi numerasi yang rendah. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh kementrian pendidikan, kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) menunjukkan bahwa pandemic COVID-19 telah menyebabkan hilangnya pembelajaran Literasi dan Numerasi Untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang sering terjadi ini maka melalui program kampus mengajar angkatan 7 mahasiswa membuat program yang akan dilaksanakan selama penugasan di SD Negeri 16 Kota Sorong. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menentukan peran yang dilakukan mahasiswa kampus mengajar angkatan 7 dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa-siswi di sekolah. Lalu Kemudian Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Dari Hasil kegiatasn menunjukkan bahwa program kampus mengajar 7 memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa-siswi di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education in Indonesia requires continuous efforts to develop teachers' competencies, especially in soft skills related to pedagogical abilities and the use of technology in learning. This community service aims to enhance the soft skills of teachers in the Majelis Dikdasmen PNF PDM of Sorong City through the application of the microteaching method with simple interactive visual media. The microteaching method provides teachers with the opportunity to practice teaching in short sessions, which are then evaluated by peers and facilitators. Additionally, simple visual media such as PowerPoint, learning videos, and infographics are used to enrich the teaching and learning experience. This community service is conducted in the form of theory and practice sessions, followed by group discussions and reflections to strengthen participants' understanding. The results of the service show an improvement in teachers' ability to effectively use visual media, as well as an enhancement in their skills in managing classrooms interactively. This service is expected to significantly contribute to the professionalism of teachers in Sorong City, particularly in improving the quality of the teaching-learning process in non-formal education levels.

Abstract

Borneo Coconut Soy Sauce has problems with shelf life, namely on the fifth day the soy sauce has experienced a decline in quality, so the problem faced is a short shelf life. So the synthetic preservative potassium sorbate and natural sappan wood preservative were added to extend the shelf life of the product. Potassium sorbate is used to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi and mold. Sappan wood contains active antimicrobial and antioxidant substances which can inhibit and reduce the number of microbes in food, so that sappan wood can extend its shelf life. This research aims to determine the effect of adding potassium sorbate and sappan sawdust on sugar content, Total Plate Number (ALT), protein content, and organoleptic tests of Borneo coconut soy sauce. This research used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with 6 treatment, namely K0S2, K1S2, K1S1, K2S0, K2S2, and K2S1. The highest average sugar content test results were in the K1S1 treatment, namely 52.60% and the lowest in the K2S0 treatment, namely 41.66%. The ALT test results showed that samples K0S2, K1S2, K1S1, K2S0, and K2S2 were declared negative for being contaminated with bacteria, while sample K2S1 was positive for being contaminated with bacteria but did not exceed the maximum limit set by BPOM and BSN, because the ALT value of sample K2S1 was 1 x 10 ². The protein content test results had the highest average value in the K2S2 treatment, namely 3.62% and the lowest in the K2S0 treatment, namely 2.95%. Based on the organoleptic test, the highest average value for taste, color and aroma was the same, namely in the K0S2 treatment, while the lowest average value for taste was in the K1S1 treatment, for color, namely in the K2S0 treatment, and for aroma, namely in the K2S2 treatment.
