Abstract

Background. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is the gold standard diagnostic test for Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). To minimize complications after PCI, patient activity is limited to bedrest for 2-24 hours. But the long bedrest can cause complaints of back pain and discomfort. This systematic review aims to identify the position changes in the first 6 hours after PCI for back pain and discomfort. Metode. Three electronic databases were used to carry out systematic searches namely Pubmed, CINAHL ebsco and ProQuest. The keyword combination is 'percutaneous coronary intervention' AND 'position change' OR 'changing position' OR 'early mobilization' NOT 'Literature Review' OR 'review of the literature' OR 'overview' OR 'Systematic Review' OR 'meta analysis’. The inclusion criteria used were articles with the last 12 years of research 2007 - 2019, quantitative research, English and Indonesian, peer review, randomized controlled trial and quasi experiment. The article search results found 49 articles on CINAHL ebsco, 81 articles on PubMed and 273 articles on ProQuest. A total of 13 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. Results. From 13 articles, 6 articles reported a decrease in complaints of back pain and discomfort after changing positions in the first 6 hours in bed. 4 articles indicate the same thing after a change of position made the first 6 hours then walking beside the bed. And 3 articles reported a decrease in complaints of back pain and discomfort after ambulation in the first 6 hours. Conclusion. Changes in position within a period of 6 hours after PCI can reduce the incidence of back pain and discomfort that is felt by patients. Keywords: position changes, percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract

The main clinical manifestations of patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) during the acute period is chest pain. Handling complaints of pain patients with ACS definitively done with medication; however, it is possible to do additional nonpharmacological therapies to optimize the results. Nonpharmacological treatment can be performed in various ways, one of them with heat therapy. This literature review aimed to determine the use of heat therapy as an additional nonpharmacological intervention in reducing the intensity of chest pain in patients with ACS. Four electronic databases were used to carry out systematic searches on articles, namely Proquest, Science Direct, Pubmed, and CINAHL-Ebsco. The combination of keywords was "heat therapy" AND "chest pain" AND "acute coronary syndrome" NOT "Literature review" OR "Literature review" OR "Overview" OR "Systematic Review" OR "Meta-analysis." The inclusion criteria used were experimental study articles, peer-reviewed articles, and research articles written in English and performed in the period between 2014-2019. The search results obtained three articles that met the inclusion criteria and analyzed. The results of the study found that heat therapy effective in reducing the intensity of chest pain, the use of analgesic opioids, and improving the patient's hemodynamics. In conclusion, the therapy can be considered used as adjunctive therapy to reduce chest pain in patients with ACS with certain criteria. In addition, further research is also needed to see the effectiveness of this therapy if it is implemented with more frequent frequencies and compare its effectiveness in reducing chest pain if the application is given to the anterior or posterior of the chest.

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a procedure  that can be done before the arrival of ambulance which aims to save lives of cardiac arrest patients. In covid-19 pandemic, safe CPR is still needed by considering the safety of patients and rescuers. The study aims to determine best method for performing CPR during covid-19 pandemic. The Method is literature review, with database used is Google Scholar, Pubmed and Ebscohost which obtained 10 articles. The results are to permorming CPR using personal protective equipment, minimized the provision of ventilation, use a surgical maskand use the LUCAS 3 aid for chest compressions.. The conclusion is to implement CPR in the covid-19 pandemic, must use PPE at least use surgical mask for rescuers and victim, only perform chest compressions without providing ventilation, , perform compression in prone position, and compression cycle for 2 helpers was done with alternate after 2-3 cycles.

Abstract

Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Primary PCI is an effective intervention, it is not without risks, and complications arising post-procedure can significantly affect both patient outcomes and the length of hospital stay (LOS).Aim: To describe the types and frequency of complications that occur in patients after Primary PCI and to analyze their relationship with the length of stay in the hospital.Design: This study employed a retrospective design, utilizing medical records of patients who underwent Primary PCI at a referral hospital in West Java, Indonesia, from December 2019 to April 2024. The study sample was selected using a convenience sampling method, focusing on patients who had complete medical records. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analyses, including Fisher's exact test to assess the relationship between complications and LOS. The dependent variable, LOS, was categorized into three groups: ≤ 3 days, 4-5 days, and ≥ 6 days. Results: The findings showed that 81.8% of patients did not experience any complications post-procedure, while 14.5% experienced hematomas and 3.6% experienced bleeding. The median LOS was 4.00 ± 2.28 days, with 60.9% of patients having an LOS of more than 3 days. Patients who experienced complications, especially hematomas or bleeding, were more likely to have prolonged hospital stays, with 11.8% of them staying for ≥ 6 days. Conclusion: Complications following Primary PCI significantly affect the length of stay in the hospital. The study highlights that patients who experience complications such as hematomas or bleeding tend to have longer hospitalizations. These findings underscore the importance of early detection and timely management of post-procedural complications to reduce LOS and enhance patient outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in women, therefore breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in most countries. Providing adequate information needed by patients can reduce anxiety and feelings of insecurity. Most of women with breast cancer stated that the information obtained was unsatisfactory. However, few studies have comprehensively addressed the information needs of women with breast cancer across all stages of the disease. This scoping review aimed to fully understand the unique information needs of breast cancer patients at various stages of the cancer continuum. A scoping review will be conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Relevant studies will be identified from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Taylor & Francis, EBSCOhost, and ScienceDirect. In addition, searches via Google Scholar, interpersonal network recommendations, and reference chains will also be conducted. Studies will be selected based on PCC criteria, focusing on breast cancer patients as the population, information needs as content, and at various stages of the cancer continuum as the context. Data extraction and risk of bias assessment will be performed using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist. This review is expected to provide comprehensive information needs of breast cancer patients at various stages of the cancer continuum. The findings will be valuable for educational institutions, healthcare facilities, in designing innovative, technology-based educating programs that enhance knowledge retention, practical skills, and psychological preparedness.
