Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the global Fintech phenomenon by reviewing research from several countries. It aims to identify best practices, involved journals, applied methods, and knowledge gaps that require further investigation. Methodology/Approach: A systematic literature review was conducted using journals from multiple international databases that discuss fintech practices worldwide. The analysis follows the DIPLOMA Model by Boratynska to systematically evaluate and synthesize the selected studies. Results/Findings: Based on the DIPLOMA Fintech Model, Indonesia emerges as the leading country in implementing fintech practices, fulfilling all five dimensions of the model. This achievement positions Indonesia as a potential benchmark for other countries aiming to strengthen their fintech ecosystems. Malaysia, China, and Brazil follow by meeting four dimensions, indicating strong development. The United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, and South Africa fulfill three dimensions, reflecting moderate fintech maturity. Meanwhile, Sub-Saharan countries and Nigeria meet only one dimension, highlighting significant gaps in fintech readiness and infrastructure. Conclusion: Indonesia fulfills all five DIPLOMA dimensions, confirming its position as a global leader in fintech implementation and innovation. This illustrates Indonesia’s potential to serve as a reference for other countries. Limitations: This study is limited by the selection of countries from only four continents, excluding Australia. The use of a relatively small number of articles also indicates the need for broader literature coverage. Contribution: The study shows that fintech success is not solely determined by development level, but by a combination of supportive factors that enable even developing countries to excel.

Abstract

Peat soil has high water content and compression, and low bearing capacity. Peat soil stabilization is carried out to increase the bearing capacity, increase the density and strength of the soil. Geopolymer material is one of the materials for soil stabilization derived from basic materials activated with activator solutions such as sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate. This study aims to examine the unconfined compressive strength, average water content, and dry density of peat soil stabilized with a hybrid geopolymer mixture of fly ash and sand. The parameters studied were NaOH molarity of 10M, 12M, and 14M, and silicate modulus (Na2SiO3/NaOH ratio) of 1.5; 2.0; and 2.5. The results of the study showed that the highest unconfined compressive strength was obtained for a mixture with a silicate modulus of 2.5 (GP-12M-Ms2.5), which was 23.68 kPa at 28 days. Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) testing was conducted after the samples were cured for 7, 28, and 56 days. The unconfined compressive strength of the GP-14M-Ms2 mixture with a molarity of 14M was 23.68 kPa at 28 days. This is due to the geopolymerization reaction that releases OH- ions to dissolve silica and alumina in fly ash, and the silicate modulus (Ms) can increase the pH of the geopolymerization and bind soil particles better. The highest dry soil content was produced by the GP-12M-Ms2.5 mixture for 7, 28, and 56 days. Sand used in peat soil stabilization can help increase density because it can fill soil cavities.

Abstract

The drinking water supply system (SPAM) is an infrastructure facility specifically designed to provide clean and safe drinking water that meets established health standards. In this project, the construction buildings utilize foundations in the form of piles and bored piles, which serve as essential structural elements to support and distribute loads from the columns to the underlying hard soil layer. A properly designed foundation ensures the stability and durability of the overall structure. This study aims to analyze and determine the bearing capacity of the foundation using several analytical approaches, namely the Meyerhoff, Reese & Wright, and Luciano Decourt methods, while the settlement analysis is carried out using the Fellenius and Vesic methods. The research was conducted in Kampar Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. The data used in this analysis include Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data and Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) test results obtained from field observations. The calculation results indicate that the bearing capacity obtained from the Meyerhoff method is 103 tons, Reese & Wright 176 tons, Luciano Decourt 353 tons, and PDA 204 tons. Meanwhile, the settlement results show values of 10.7 mm for the Fellenius method, 16.05 mm for the Vesic method, and 14.5 mm for PDA measurements.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a major contributor to Indonesia's economy, but they still struggle to adapt to the digital and social media environments. The thrust of this research stems from the observation that, despite e-commerce being a clear-cut, wide-open opportunity for MSME activity, the general level of digital literacy and social media optimization among MSMEs is quite low. This study aims to examine how digital literacy and social media use influence marketing performance among e–commerce–based MSMEs in Indonesia. A mixed-method explanatory sequential approach was used in the study, which involved a quantitative survey of 150 MSMEs and in-depth interviews with 15 MSME owners. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, and qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. This data indicates that digital literacy (β = 0.312; p < 0.05) and social media use (β = 0.428; p < 0.05) have significant effects on marketing performance, with an R² value of 0.56. Social media is the dominant factor in expanding market reach, while digital literacy improves MSMEs' capacity to manage technology-based marketing. The main contribution of the study is the joint analysis of digital literacy and social media, which have mostly been studied separately in prior research. The findings showed that digital literacy should be seen as the foundation, while social media is the primary tool for marketing. In practice, the research offers recommendations for MSMEs, policymakers, and business facilitators on designing integrated training programs that combine digital skills with online promotion strategies.

Abstract

Coastal areas are typically characterized by non-uniform soil properties, often featuring soft, water-saturated soils with high plasticity, which frequently results in low soil bearing capacity. This study aims to investigate the relationship between California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values and Mackintosh Probe (MP) test results by utilizing a mixture of clay soil comprising bentonite and kaolin with sand in various compositions. These mixtures were prepared as laboratory test samples to simulate the soil conditions in these areas. The primary objective of this research is to develop a faster and more efficient alternative method for estimating soil bearing capacity in coastal regions. A total of 81 samples were prepared with variations in moisture content, compaction levels, and the composition of sand and clay mixtures. Testing was conducted using both CBR and MP methods. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between MP and CBR values, represented by the linear regression model: CBR = 0.7498 * MP, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.9542. This indicates that approximately 95.42% of the variation in CBR values can be predicted from the MP test results. The model's accuracy was further validated through training and testing using 5 randomly selected data points from the sample set. The findings suggest that the Mackintosh Probe can serve as a preliminary tool for estimating soil bearing capacity in coastal areas, particularly in field conditions where laboratory equipment is limited. However, for broader applicability, further validation of this model is necessary to accommodate more complex soil conditions in the field.

Abstract

Goodwill impairment assessment remains a judgment-intensive process in banking institutions, where managerial discretion, information asymmetry, and regulatory complexity often challenge the quality of decisions and transparency. While prior studies have widely applied machine learning to financial risk assessment and credit analytics, they have paid limited attention to its role in improving managerial accountability in goodwill impairment decisions. This study aims to address this gap by developing and evaluating a machine-learning–based estimation framework to enhance the quality of decisions and transparency in bank-level goodwill impairment assessments. Using simulation-based analysis on synthetic financial statements, the proposed framework evaluates the performance of impairment estimation using quantitative metrics that capture predictive accuracy, decision consistency, and traceability. The findings demonstrate that ML-assisted estimation can systematically improve decision quality while strengthening transparency and accountability compared to traditional judgment-driven approaches. Beyond technical performance, the results indicate that machine learning can function as a governance-supporting mechanism by enabling more traceable and internally auditable impairment decisions. The study contributes theoretically by operationalizing transparency and accountability as measurable decision outcomes in corporate finance, and practically by offering banks a simulation-based tool for internal evaluation that does not rely on field experiments or sensitive proprietary data. Overall, the research highlights the potential of ML-enabled decision support systems to enhance both the quality and governance of goodwill impairment practices in the banking sector.
