Abstract

Abstract Ecological studies of reptiles in Java were rarely executed during the last decade, because many scientist have focused exclusively on taxonomical studies. Also, studies about diversity of reptiles which have been heretofore published mostly incorporated with amphibians, and nearly all of those studies concerning in unravel the diversity of amphibians. In Bodogol, Gede- Pangrango National Park, survey about reptiles diversity have been done frequently, but just few researches that have been published and most of all were short term research studies. Hence, a research that concern in studying diversity of reptiles become valuable to carry out. Herein, we studied the diversity of reptiles in Bodogol during November 2011 to March 2012. Reptiles’ species were collected by searching in available trail other than Tangkil, Cipanyairan I, and Cipanyairan II. Total of twenty three species of reptiles were found, encompassing six families (Colubridae, Elapidae, Viperidae, Scincidae, Agamidae, and Gekkonidae). Number species of reptiles occured in Bodogol were quite similar to other largest nature reserve areas within the same geographic range (e.g. Halimun-Salak and Ujung Kulon National Park). Despite its small in size, Bodogol contains various types of habitat which therefore could support a variety species of reptiles. Key words : bodogol, diversity, reptiles, java

Abstract

E-modules can facilitate student understanding of complex biological concepts, including biodiversity, but their effectiveness also depends on individual student abilities. One significant factor influencing this success is the students' intelligence quotient, which affects how they process and comprehend complex information. This research aims to determine the relationship between intelligence quotient with mastery of biodiversity material using e-modules. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method with correlation studies. The sample was taken from as many as 177 students from SMAN in Tangerang City was collected using multistage random sampling technique. To assess these skills, a test instrument in the form of multiple-choice questions is used. The prerequisite test shows that the data is normally distributed, the data is homogeneous, the data is linear, the data is free from symptoms of heteroscedasticity, the data is not multicollinearity, and the data is free from symptoms of autocorrelation. Through testing the hypothesis, the equation Ŷ = 41.268 + 0.580X1 is obtained. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.881, which means there is a very strong relationship. . Based on this research, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between intelligence quotient, reading comprehension ability, and mastery of biodiversity material using e-modules.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the diversity of bush insects around Mount Gede Pangrango National Park. This study uses an explorative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out for two days using insect net and hand collecting techniques. The results of the study found 19 insect species from 4 different orders, namely: Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, and Orthoptera. Morphological analysis shows variations in adaptation, such as: camouflage, antenna structure, and color patterns on the wings that support the ecology and role of insects in the ecosystem. This diversity reflects the importance of bush vegetation as a habitat supporting a balanced ecosystem. This study also revealed that several insect species have significant ecological value in the process of pollination and natural pest control. In addition, several species show unique morphological adaptations to survive in a dynamic bush environment. The insect species found have the potential as bioindicators of environmental health. This study also highlights the importance of bush vegetation conservation to support the sustainability of insect populations and maintain ecosystem balance. These findings provide a basis for further research on insect taxonomy and conservation in similar habitats.

Abstract

The rapid development of data and technology in science encourages the collaboration of various disciplines to produce new branches of science, one of which is Bioinformatics, which studies molecular biology data stored in digital databases. The process of studying digital data requires special skills, such as analytical thinking skills and digital literacy. Efforts are needed to improve these two skills, one of which is by applying innovative teaching materials in project-based learning (PjBL). This study aims to determine the effect of the application of ARMOD E-Module teaching materials in PjBL on these two skills. Research with quasi-experimental methods and pretest-posttest control group design was conducted on students of the UNJ biology education study programme. The results showed that the application of ARMOD E-Module in PjBL can increase the average post-test in the aspects of segmentation ability, ability to connect system functions, ability to compare, ability to evaluate which are aspects of analytical thinking. The average post-test increases also occurred in the aspects of information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security, and problem solving which are all aspects of digital literacy. The results of the one-way MANOVA test between the experimental class and the control class were 0.026, indicating a significant difference. The significant difference is thought to be due to the innovative features of teaching materials used in learning bioinformatics.
