Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that prevention must be done earliest. Therefore, information about stunting must be given to adolescent girls to prepare them to become prospective mothers with good nutrition and health status. The purpose of the community service is to provide information, knowledge, and understanding to adolescent girls about stunting as one of the nutritional problems in Indonesia. Community service is carried out by counseling with lectures and discussion methods. The school highly appreciates the community service activity. Counseling can increase the knowledge of adolescent girls about stunting. The material about stunting can be understood by adolescent girls marked by appropriate answers to questions during the discussion. Teenage girls are expected to be able to implement behaviors that can improve their health to prevent stunting from an early stage and can disseminate information.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TBC) merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang masih menjadi perhatian, dengan status gizi sebagai faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap kerentanan terhadap infeksi. Edukasi gizi yang tepat dapat berperan sebagai strategi promotif dan preventif dalam upaya penanggulangan TBC. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya gizi seimbang dalam pencegahan TBC melalui media infografis edukatif. Kegiatan edukasi dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu: penyusunan materi berbasis referensi ilmiah, perancangan infografis menggunakan aplikasi Canva, serta diseminasi melalui media sosial (Instagram dan TikTok) dan ruang publik di lingkungan kampus. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui survei daring terhadap 61 responden. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa seluruh responden (100%) menilai infografis menarik dan mudah dipahami, sementara 65,6% responden mengaku memperoleh pengetahuan baru mengenai hubungan antara gizi dan TBC. Infografis yang disebarkan melalui Instagram menunjukkan jangkauan dan interaksi audiens yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan TikTok. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media visual dan digital efektif digunakan dalam edukasi gizi serta berpotensi meningkatkan literasi kesehatan masyarakat. Strategi ini dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut sebagai pendekatan preventif dalam upaya pengendalian TBC.

Abstract

Pangan merupakan kebutuhan dasar yang harus terpenuhi setiap waktu pada semua kelompok umur. Anak usia sekolah dasar adalah anak dengan rentang usia 6-12 tahun. Pada tahap usia sekolah, anak-anak membutuhkan asupan gizi agar tumbuh kembang anak berlangsung dengan optimal. Asupan gizi dapat diperoleh melalui konsumsi pangan yang aman dan bergizi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian untuk memberikan informasi kepada anak usia sekolah dasar tentang pangan aman dan bergizi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi pangan. Kegiatan dilakukan di SD Negeri 100 Kota Kendari melalui penyuluhan menggunakan metode ceramah. Penyampaian materi menggunakan powerpoint disertai tahap tanya jawab kepada murid yang mengikuti kegiatan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan dapat memberikan informasi dan pemahaman kepada anak usia sekolah dasar tentang makanan yang aman berdasarkan zat warna yang digunakan pada makanan serta kandungan gizi pada makanan. Kegiatan edukasi perlu dilakukan secara berkala untuk memberikan informasi secara terus menerus kepada anak usia sekolah, sehingga mampu menerapkan hidup sehat melalui konsumsi pangan yang aman, sehat dan bergizi.

Abstract

The rising number of obesity cases among children and adolescents has become a significant public health concern. One contributing factor is the lack of understanding about balanced eating patterns. This community engagement activity aimed to increase public knowledge about the importance of the Isi Piringku (My Plate) concept in preventing obesity, using animated video-based educational media. The educational video was disseminated online through social media platforms Instagram and Facebook. Respondents who accessed the video were asked to complete a post-test and provide feedback via Google Forms. Results showed that out of 117 respondents, the majority stated that the video was easy to understand and improved their knowledge of healthy eating patterns. The highest user interaction was recorded on Instagram, with 190 likes, 69 comments, 11 shares, and 1,500 views. This activity demonstrates that social media can serve as an effective tool for nutrition education, capable of reaching a wide audience efficiently.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit tidak menular karena gangguan metabolik yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah. Diabetes mellitus disebabkan karena ketidakmampuan tubuh khususnya organ pankreas memproduksi insulin atau mengalami sensitivitas insulin. Jumlah penderita diabetes mellitus mengalam peningkatan setiap tahun. Edukasi tentang pencegahan dan pengendalian DM perlu dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian DM. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat di Desa Ranooha Raya tentang penyebab DM serta bagaimana upaya untuk mencegah dan mengendalikan penyakit DM. Metode yang dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dengan metode ceramah dan diikuti oleh 30 masyarakat Desa Ranooha Raya. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengukuran tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan kegiatan edukasi.  Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis menggunakan paired T-test (uji T berpasangan). Kegiatan pengabdian dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan sasaran dengan adanya perbedaan rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi sebesar 2,6 dan perubahan pengetahuan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi dengan nilai p= 0,000. Perlu dilakukan promosi kesehatan dalam bentuk edukasi secara berkala sebagai bentuk upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian diabetes mellitus sebagai salah satu jenis penyakit tidak menular di Desa Ranohaa Raya.

Abstract

Fish smoking is a popular method of fish preservation which extends the shelf life of fish and diversify the range of processed fish products. Smoked tuna is a special dish from Malalanda Village, North Buton Regency that is processed using traditional smoking method using simple equipment. This research was conducted to identify the organoleptic characteristics, referring to the acceptability of a product based on the sensory properties, of smoked tuna produced by local artisans using the traditional smoking method in Malalanda Village, Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency. On-site observation involving randomly-sampled smoked fish artisans was performed. Three tuna fish were obtained from three artisans to undergo organoleptic tests to assess their color, aroma, presentation, and taste. Each sample was assigned a code: Craftsman 1 (T1), Craftsman 2 (T2), and Craftsman 3 (T3). The organoleptic testing involved 37 panelists, consisting of students from the Department of Agricultural Technology at Universitas Sulawesi Tenggara. The ANOVA test revealed that the three types of smoked tuna samples exhibited similar characteristics in terms of color, aroma, presentation, and taste. Specifically, the color characteristics of T1 were rated at 4.27 (liked), T2 at 4.30 (liked), and T3 at 4.30 (liked). The aroma scored T1 = 4.35 (liked), T2 = 4.30 (liked), and T3 = 4.27 (liked), while the presentation showed T1 = 4.30 (liked), T2 = 4.30 (liked), and T3 = 4.27 (liked). Furthermore, the taste was rated T1 = 4.49 (liked), T2 = 4.46 (liked), and T3 = 4.46 (liked). Therefore, no significant differences were found in the organoleptic characteristics of color, aroma, presentation, and taste among the three smoked tuna samples.Keywords:Smoked tuna, organoleptic characteristics, traditional fish smoking process

Abstract

Indonesia's health profile data shows that the incidence of dengue fever reaches 27.0 per 100,000 population and the province of Southeast Sulawesi has an incidence rate of 24.6 per 100,000 population, almost reaching the national average incidence rate. This study aims to obtain an overview of the knowledge of the coastal community of Kolono about knowledge about the prevention of dengue disease. This type of research is a descriptive survey with a research population of 6374 people. Sample in this study were 952 respondents spread over 12 sub-districts in Kolono District. Sampling technique is Proportional Random Sampling. The results showed that 764 respondents (80.3%) did not know the definition of dengue disease, there were 762 respondents or 80.04% who did not have good knowledge regarding the breeding grounds of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito and there were 694 respondents or 72.9% who did not know. ways to prevent dengue. It is hoped that health education will be carried out to increase public knowledge, especially ahead of the transition season to improve DHF prevention behavior in the Kolono sub-district community.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan minat masyarakat terhadap konsumsi pangan lokal dan penerapan diversifikasi pangan melalui media poster digital. Edukasi dilakukan dengan mendesain tiga poster bertema pangan lokal dan diversifikasi pangan yang disebarkan melalui media sosial dan ruang publik di wilayah Sulawesi Tenggara. Poster divalidasi oleh dosen pembimbing dan evaluasi dilakukan terhadap 130 responden melalui Google Form. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 63,8% responden merasa sangat mengetahui informasi yang disampaikan, 76,2% menilai poster sangat menarik, dan 50,8% sangat tertarik untuk mencoba konsumsi pangan lokal. Media digital terbukti efektif dalam menyampaikan edukasi gizi dan ketahanan pangan, khususnya pada kelompok usia produktif. Pendekatan visual berbasis digital ini memberikan kontribusi dalam membangun kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pangan lokal dan keragaman konsumsi pangan sebagai upaya mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional.

Abstract

Reproductive health refers to the state of physical, mental, and social well-being related to the functions and systems of the human reproductive system. According to data from PKBI, approximately 15% of adolescents aged 10 to 24 years have had sexual intercourse outside of marriage. This is typically triggered by a strong curiosity about one's sexuality. Data obtained from the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Unit (P2PM) of the Kendari City Health Department in 2023 recorded 283 cases of HIV/AIDS. This situation highlights the importance of appropriate educational interventions to enhance adolescents' understanding of maintaining reproductive health. This activity aims to increase knowledge about the importance of maintaining reproductive health by involving 26 students from SMAN 2 Kendari as a pilot class. The activity employed interactive lectures and the educational game “Ranking 1.” Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed that the average pre-test score was 95 (SD = 6.56), while the post-test showed an increase to 97 (SD = 5.08). However, the changes observed did not show statistical significance (p=0.219). Nevertheless, every respondent (100%) showed a good level of knowledge from the pre-test to the post-test. These findings indicate that educational programs can contribute to maintaining students' high level of knowledge regarding reproductive health.

Abstract

New cases of HIV sufferers continue to grow every year. In 2022, there was an increase in HIV/AIDS cases by 3.8% in adolescents in Indonesia from the previous year. According to the Ministry of Health, in the age range of 15-24 years, there are about 1,929 cases of HIV infection. 76% of the 91 AIDS cases in Southeast Sulawesi occurred at the age of 25-49 years. The purpose of this activity is to provide educational information to adolescents about reproductive health so that they are not involved in risky sexual relationships. This educational activity was conducted at SMA Negeri 6 Kendari in June 2025. 27 students at SMA Negeri 6 Kendari, as a sample group, were involved. The methods applied in this activity were a presentation and a health education game (Rank 1). The results showed that the average pre-test score was 85 (SD=16.09) and increased to 92 (SD=9.53) in the post-test. Paired-Samples T test results showed P-Valeu = 0.219 (α>0.05). Based on this, it shows that there is a difference in knowledge and understanding of reproductive health in 27 samples of SMA Negeri 6 Kendari students before and after the delivery of material (education).
