Abstract

One of the biggest problems confronting humanity in the twenty-first century is the global food crisis. Global food security is becoming more and more precarious as population growth picks up speed and climate change puts agricultural sustainability and food security in jeopardy. Technology is an important factor for increasing sustainable food systems in order to accomplish this goal. Smart Farming concept combines sensors, data analytics, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and information and communication technology (ICT). In this research paper, the researchers' method of gathering data is documentation studies. This research aims to review technologies that could be utilized to overcome the global food crisis, one of which is smart farming. The society is expected to contribute to collective efforts to create a world free of starvation and abundant food for all through this understanding of smart farming.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the sources of production risk in organic rice farming in Lubuk Bayas Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. What is the level of production risk in organic rice farming in Lubuk Bayas Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency and what efforts are being made to minimize it? production risks. The population of organic rice farmers in Lubuk Bayas Village is 25 people. The sample was determined using the census method so that the sample used was 25 people, data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and filling out questionnaires. Meanwhile, data analysis uses standard deviation and coefficient of variation analysis. The research results show that the sources of risk for organic rice farming production in Lubuk Bayas Village include land processing, planting, fertilizing, post-harvest, pests and diseases, climate, and weather. level of production risk from the coefficient of variation (CV) is 0.57 in planting season A and 0.58 in planting season B. Where both seasons are < 1, organic rice farming in Lubuk Bayas Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai, districts has a low or small production risk. Then efforts to minimize the risks of organic rice farming production include cleaning irrigation canals, raising beds, carrying out replanting, making reservoirs, harvesting on time, using machines when harvesting, and carrying out routine checks as well as carrying out care and maintenance by applying organic fertilizer, vegetable pesticides, and liquid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

In the context of agricultural entrepreneurship in Indonesia, this quantitative study explores the intricate relationships that exist between community engagement, knowledge transfer, technology adoption, community food security, and agricultural sustainability. To look into the connections between these crucial factors, the study included 350 agricultural entrepreneurs from various parts of Indonesia in a representative sample. Structural equation modeling using partial least squares (SEM-PLS) was used to gather and analyze data. The findings provided insights into the significance of community engagement, knowledge sharing, and technological advancement in guaranteeing food security. They also confirmed the significant positive direct effects of community participation, knowledge transfer, and technology adoption on community food security. Furthermore, the research findings indicate that the relationship between agricultural sustainability and community engagement is mediated by knowledge transfer and technological adoption, underscoring their crucial function in advancing sustainable agricultural practices. These results add to our knowledge of the dynamics of agricultural entrepreneurship in Indonesia and have important ramifications for stakeholders and policymakers who want to enhance the region's agricultural sustainability and food security.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the food distribution system and product innovation in enhancing the availability and affordability of functional foods in Sukabumi District. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 170 respondents through a structured questionnaire employing a Likert scale of 1 to 5. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) was utilized to analyze the relationships between variables. The results reveal that the food distribution system has a strong positive effect on affordability and a moderate effect on availability, while product innovation significantly impacts both affordability and availability, with a stronger influence on the latter. The combined explanatory power for affordability and availability demonstrates the critical interplay between distribution efficiency and innovation in ensuring functional food accessibility. These findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, producers, and distributors to address logistical and innovation-related challenges, thereby promoting sustainable food systems in the region.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the level of consumer satisfaction with Bulog rice in the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) program in the city of Binjai. In this research, the method used is a case study approach, utilizing tools such as Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index. (CSI). The sample size for this study is 30 respondents using the convenience sampling technique. The characteristics for sample collection are as follows: 1.) Bring an ID card with a Binjai address, 2.) and purchase a minimum of 1 package and a maximum of 3 packages of Bulog products in the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) program in Binjai City. The results of this study indicate that, based on the analysis of Importance-Performance (IPA), attributes found in quadrant I (maximum priority) such as the soft texture of the rice, the bright white color of the rice, and the affordable price offered at Rp.55,000/5kg are the main priorities for consumer satisfaction. Additionally, according to the calculation of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), a value of 87.715 was obtained, which falls within the range of > 81%. This indicates that consumers are satisfied with the purchase of Bulog rice in the city of Binjai as part of the Affordable Food Movement program in Binjai.
