Abstract

Shafts, pulleys and belts are one component of a washing machine that are no less important than other components. These components function to continue the rotation of the motor to the washing machine tube that will be driven. This study aims to redesign and analyze the three components. The method used is an experimental method with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the analysis show that the diameter of the drive shaft is 8mm with the type of material in the form of carbon steel, the diameter of the drive and driven pulley is 71 mm and 135.8 mm and the material for the cast iron pulley and the type of v-belt used is type A.

Abstract

Motorcycle is a means of transportation that can not be separated in modern human life. Simple but has many benefits and is very useful as a means of transportation, also having an affordable price is the reason why many people use motorbikes. Motorcycles themselves, especially automatic motorbikes also have problems that must be solved. This problem arises because the engine of the automatic motor itself is inside the motor body so that the heat transfer is hampered by the motor body itself. This deficiency is what encourages researchers to fix the problem. This repair is done by making a hole in the front of the deck for the air to flow as a cooler. The results showed that after repairs were made, it showed a significant difference in heat transfer, so that the engine became cooler and optimal.

Abstract

STEM education plays an important role in developing the 21st-century skills of the students moreover it can also increase students' understanding of science and technology concepts and how to apply their knowledge to solve a real-life problem. The improvement of students' increased understanding of concepts is hypothetically linked to the engineering design process that happened in STEM learning. This study aims to identify how students apply their prior science-technology concept to develop a smart blind stick through the engineering design process (EDP). The descriptive case study method includes direct observations, interviews, and documentation analysis in 3 STEM lessons of 30 high school students were conducted. During three STEM lessons, students are improving their skills to apply their prior science concepts to solve the challenge, students also introduce to knowledge of coding in order to develop a smart blind stick project. This study shows an example of how the engineering design process facilitates the application of science-technology knowledge in solving given problems. To support the learning process the teacher uses scaffolding techniques and optimizes the engineering design process, especially at the research step.

Abstract

Kebutuhan manusia terhadap bahan bakar setiap tahunnya sangatlah bertambah banyak, termasuk juga emisi gas buang yang di hasilkan .Tujuan dalam penelitian ini sebagai penentu dalam mengurangi emisi gas buang yang di hasilkan dari kendaraan bermotor. Cara ini dapat mengurangi polusi udara sehingga udara yang dihirup tidak terlalu bahaya bagi kesehatan. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan merupakan metode exprimen dengan pengolahan data menggunakan duo factorial yang mengetahui pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat yang di tentukan. Penambahan Octane booster cair kedalam bahan bakar shell super berpengaruh terhadap nilai emisi gas buang HC,CO dan CO2 pada kendaraan Innova. kesimpulan bahwa dengan campuran sebanyak 2,5% meghasilkan gas HC terendah dan yang tertinggi di hasilkan oleh campuran 1,6%. Kadar emisi gas buang CO dengan campuran 2,5% menghasilkan gas CO yang terendah dan campuran 1,6% octane booster menghasilkan CO tertinggi. Kadar emisi gas CO2 yang terkecil dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar shell super murni tanpa campuran sedangkan CO2 terbesar dihasilkan oleh campuran 3% octane booster cair.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi, kepuasan kerja, budaya organisasi, dan komitmen organisasional terhadap kinerja karyawan. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pada karyawan Jogja Kurnia Leather Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan menggunakan teknik penyebaran kuesioner kepada 50 karyawan Jogja Kurnia Leather yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian. Teknik pengujian data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji multikolinieritas, uji heteroskedastisitas, analisis regresi linier berganda, dan uji T. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa motivasi, kepuasan kerja dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Komitmen organisasional berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan namun tidak signifikan.

Abstract

One of the causes of boiler pipe breakage is corrosion. The prediction of the lifetime of the tube and superheater effectiveness on the boiler shall be calculated to determine and predict the failure time. The prediction of the lifetime of the tube is a prediction of the time of the failure of the superheater tube in the boiler so that the return can be performed.  The effectiveness of the superheater in the boiler is a comparison of the heat transfer rate of the overheated tubes  inside the boiler. The research method was research and development, a computational program using an optimization process.  The variables used in the study were steam input temperature, metal tube temperature, steam outlet temperature, natural gas input temperature, natural gas mass flow rate,  vapour mass flow rate, and natural gas outlet temperature. This study takes a case study of the superheater boiler from the company. The results of calculation of the life expectancy of the operating conditions  shall be 11 years when the boiler data sheet is used and 14 years  for using the actual boiler data. Superheater effectiveness in boilers with 56% is a data sheet on boilers and 56% of the actual data. Optimization of the particle swarm algorithm predicted a  29 year  lifespan. The effectiveness of the superheater in the boiler is 86%.

Abstract

Inductor with a metal core is a component which  is almost always present in the daily  electronic device known to us . To further prove the potential  of the proposed new metalcore material, it is necessary to test the voltage variation, winding, and frequency in the inductor with the newly proposed metallic core material. The research method uses experimental methods. Three basic metal materials were used in the experiment, those are Cast Iron ASTM A48 (C 3.4%, Mn 0.5%, Si 1.8%,), Nicromine (Ni 80%, Cr 20%), Monel Alloy 400 (Ni 63%, Cu 31.7%, C 0.3%, Fe 2.5%, Si 0.5%, Mn 2%, S 0.024%). Experimental tests on these new types of metal were also carried out under various stress, winding, and working frequency conditions. The voltage variation selected is 4.5 V - 24 V,  the winding variations and frequencies selected are 150 to  1000 turns and 50 Hz. The  greatest inductance was obtained from ASTM A48, Fe, Monel Alloy 400, Nikromic, and without metallic core on the specified indicator variables. As the voltage increases and the number of turns increases,  the inductance value increases.

Abstract

Kondisi geografis di desa Babelan, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat yang memiliki banyak sawah yang luas di tengah perkotaan mengakibatkan petani kesulitan mengaliri aliran sawah lantaran saluran irigasi yang kecil serta jarak sawah dengan sungai utama cukup jauh. Keluhan para petani adalah air yang dialiri tidak sebanding dengan harga bahan bakar lantaran air yang tercemar, lalu adanya endapan lumpur serta sempitnya saluran air tersebut yang mengakibatkan warga lebih sering mengambil air dengan cara turun langsung ke saluran air di pinggir jalan tersebut namun itu sangat menyulitkan warga. Pompa Air Tenaga Surya dapat menjadi solusi dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan pada sawah di daerah Babelan tersebut. Karena selain ramah lingkungan, biaya yang di keluarkan lebih sedikit dibanding menggunakan pompa bahan bakar fosil bahkan hampir tidak mengeluarkan biaya karena menggunakan sinar matahari hanya mengeluarkan biaya saat ada kendala pada alat.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase the competitiveness of farmers in addition to improving the quality of their agricultural products must also be able to handle agricultural products into commodities that have high selling prices. In other words, they must master post-harvest handling technology. One of these technologies is to turn these agricultural products into flour, including disc mill machines or storage machines. Abstract

Desain penukar panas shell and tube yang memanfaatkan permukaan minimal triply periodik (TPMS) menghadirkan pendekatan baru untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja perpindahan panas dan efisiensi sistem. Dengan menggabungkan TPMS, struktur geometris dengan luas permukaan minimal, desain penukar panas dapat mencapai peningkatan karakteristik perpindahan panas sekaligus meminimalkan penggunaan material dan penurunan tekanan. Abstrak ini menguraikan langkah-langkah kunci yang terlibat dalam merancang penukar panas seperti itu, termasuk menentukan persyaratan desain, memilih geometri TPMS yang sesuai, merancang tata letak shell and tube, melakukan analisis dinamika fluida komputasi (CFD), dan mengoptimalkan desain,. Meskipun konsep penggunaan TPMS dalam desain penukar panas relatif baru, namun memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan efisiensi perpindahan panas
