Abstract

This research aims to analyze how to manage raw material supplies at the Muli Zahwa Banana Chips Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) located in Sungai Langka Village, Pesawaran Regency. These MSMEs are facing several problems, including delays in sending raw materials, limited number of suppliers, as well as immature muli banana raw materials, so that the daily production target of 200 kg cannot be achieved. In February 2025, actual production only reached 2,040 kg from the target of 5,200 kg, or around 38%. The potential production of muli bananas in Sungai Langka Village reaches 133,700 kg per month, while the needs of Zahwa MSMEs are only around 18,200 kg per month. In this research, the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method is used to determine the most optimal order quantity for raw materials. The calculation results show that the optimal order quantity is 1.699 kg per order with an order frequency of 14 times per year or 1 times a month. Safety stock is set at 76 kg and the reorder point is 576 kg. By implementing the EOQ method, it is hoped that it can increase operational efficiency, reduce total inventory costs, prevent shortages of raw materials, and improve the smoothness of the production process. This method provides an inventory management approach that is more organized and appropriate to the production capacity of MSMEs, while reducing the risk of wasting raw materials. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a reference for other MSMEs facing the same problems.

Abstract

The Farmers’ Group Association (Gapoktan) Rukun Sejahtera received assistance from the local district government in the form of a Rice Milling Unit (RMU) machine to improve farmers’ welfare in the region. However, the RMU has not yet operated its business optimally. Based on pre-survey data (2025), rice sales at RMU Rukun Sejahtera reached a total production of 91.456 tons, whereas the sales target set for 2024 was 150 tons. This indicates that the sales target was not achieved. As competition in the rice milling industry becomes increasingly competitive, it is necessary to develop appropriate business strategies to ensure sustainability and growth. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors of the business, determine the business unit’s position, formulate alternative strategies, and establish strategic priorities. The analytical techniques employed include SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) to select the most effective strategies for implementation. The findings of this research identify six strength factors, five weaknesses, five opportunities, and five threats. The SWOT analysis generated three S-O strategies, two W-O strategies, two S-T strategies, and one W-T strategy. The QSPM results rank the strategic priorities as follows: first, “collaborating with farmers to secure rice supply” with a score of 6.78; second, “improving business management through mentoring programs” with a score of 6.60; and third, “creating own products to reach market segmentation” with a score of 6.56. The formulated strategies are expected to enable RMU Rukun Sejahtera to operate its business sustainably in the long term.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Al-Hidayat Gerning Islamic boarding school is a boarding school that farms inthanon melon using a greenhouse. However, in the implementation of cultivation, the boarding school faces various challenges, such as the high price of inthanon melon seeds, limited market access, and high initial investment for green house construction. The objectives of the study were (1) to identify the costs, revenues, and profits of inthanon melon farming, (2) to analyze the feasibility of inthanon melon farming, and (3) to analyze the sensitivity of inthanon melon farming. The data analysis method is quantitative method. The results of this study (1) The business cost structure consisting of fixed costs of Rp9,908,393, variable costs of Rp11,065,350, total costs of Rp20,974,74 and revenue of Rp37,440,000 so as to get a profit of Rp16,466,257 during one planting period. (2) Financial feasibility analysis shows the NPV value of Rp231,899,623>0, IRR of 20.73%>8% interest rate, Net B/C ratio of 1.683>1, BEP of 6 years 7 months 25 days shorter than the project life of 10 years and PBP for 3 years 6 months 28 days shorter than the project life of 10 years. Based on these results, inthanon melon farming at Al-Hidayat Islamic Boarding School is feasible to run, and (3) Sensitivity analysis of a 10% increase in production costs shows an NPV value of 0.211, IRR of 0.165, and Net B/C of 0, 118. This indicates that if the sensitivity value is less than one, then the inthanon melon farming business at Al-Hidayat Islamic Boarding School is not sensitive to these changes. Meanwhile, a decrease in the price of inthanon melon by Rp25,000 shows an NPV value of 1.246, IRR 0.574 and Net B/C 0.369. This indicates that the price decrease is sensitive to NPV or future net profit because the sensitivity value is more than one.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to identify the pattern of the grain/rice marketing system from the farmer-producing level to the milling producer and the activities carried out by the actors involved. Data collection was carried out in the rice production center area in Pringsewu Regency, namely Gadingrejo District because it has the largest rice area in Pringsewu Regency. Data were collected using survey methods (field observations) and interviews with producer farmers and actors involved in the grain/rice trade chain system in Pringsewu Regency. Respondents are rice farmers in Pekon Parerejo totaling 67 farmers, rice milling producers (huller) as many as 4 industries, and 2 collectors traders who are in the research location. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the pattern of the grain/rice trade system in Pringsewu Regency has a flow structure from the Pekon Parerejo production center, Gading Rejo District to several rice milling industries in Pringsewu Regency. There are two patterns, namely the first channel, farmers sell grain to traders and then to wholesalers, grain traders are collected and distributed on a large scale to hullers (mills). From the huller, the grain undergoes processing including drying, milling, grading and rice. The packaged and labeled rice is then distributed to wholesalers. From wholesalers distributed to retailers to be sold to consumers. Keywords: Marketing System,   Channel of Marketing System, Actors an Activity

Abstract

Economic growth and food security are closely interconnected dimensions of sustainable regional development, particularly in agrarian regions such as Lampung Province, Indonesia. However, conventional analytical approaches often fail to capture the complex and nonlinear relationships between agricultural productivity and socio-economic conditions. This study aims to analyze the determinants of regional economic growth by integrating agricultural and socio-economic indicators using a random forest–based modeling framework. Secondary panel data from 15 districts over the period 2014–2024 were analyzed, comprising 165 observations and 14 explanatory variables. The results show that agricultural production plays a dominant role, with rice production and harvested area contributing approximately 39.8% and 34.7% of total feature importance, respectively. The model achieved strong predictive performance with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.68 and root mean squared error (RMSE) of 6,346.82, indicating that the selected variables explain a substantial portion of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) variation. Socio-economic factors, including poverty rate, per capita expenditure, and human development index (HDI), also contribute meaningfully to regional economic outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of integrating agricultural productivity with social development policies to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The proposed approach provides a data-driven framework to support regional policy formulation and improve food security strategies.
