Abstract

Literacy and numeracy are two basic skills that are very important for every individual in facing future challenges. This study is motivated by the low literacy and numeracy skills of students in IPAS subjects. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of STEM approach based on literacy and numeracy on human respiratory system material in phase C students of SD N Sampangan 01. This study used pre-test and post-test methods, and quasi-experiment using a nonequivalent control group design pattern. The average results of students' posttest scores after being given treatment using the STEM approach. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between the results of the pre-test and post-test used to measure numeracy literacy skills with the STEM approach. This is evidenced by the results of data analysis using the t test, which shows a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the decision taken is to reject H0 and accept Ha, which means that there is a significant difference between students' literacy and numeracy skills before and after the application of the STEM approach with the PjBL learning model.

Abstract

The low reading interest of school-age children in West Pasaman Regency presents a serious challenge to the development of education and a culture of literacy. This community service program aims to develop innovative management of Community Reading Parks (TBM) as a strategy to improve children's literacy. The background of the activity is based on the fact that most TBMs in this region are not optimally managed, lack innovation, and lack engaging activities for children. The implementation method uses a participatory approach involving TBM managers, teachers, parents, and literacy volunteers. Activities include TBM management training, the provision of creative reading corners, the development of educational game-based literacy programs, and regular mentoring for children. Innovations implemented include storytelling corners, weekly reading clubs, and the integration of simple digital media to attract the interest of the younger generation. The results of the activity show an increase in children's enthusiasm in utilizing TBMs, marked by an increase in the number of daily visits and active involvement in literacy activities. Furthermore, the capacity of TBM managers to design sustainable programs has increased. This program demonstrates that innovative TBM management can be an effective strategy in fostering a culture of literacy among school-age children in West Pasaman.

Abstract

Traditional games are an integral part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage and possess significant educational value, particularly in fostering students’ character development. This study focuses on the implementation of the traditional Bakiak game as a medium for strengthening character education among elementary school students. The research was motivated by the declining popularity of traditional games among students, which has led to concerns about the loss of character-building opportunities embedded in such activities. This qualitative research employed a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data collection, reduction, and presentation techniques. The participants consisted of students from SD Negeri Wirokerten. The results indicate that the implementation of the Bakiak game contributes positively to the development of students' character. The activity supports the enhancement of physical and motor skills, fosters cooperation, and nurtures appreciation for individual differences. Supporting factors for implementation include the availability of time, a flexible curriculum, and strong support from the school community and students’ parents. Conversely, inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure for traditional games and student behaviors that still require development. This study provides empirical evidence on the educational potential of traditional games, offering valuable insights for educators and future researchers in designing relevant and sustainable character education programs.

This study examines the relationship between talent management, motivation, and career development on employee productivity in organizational settings. As businesses face increasing competition and workforce challenges, understanding how human resource practices influence performance has become essential. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 250 employees across various industries and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results reveal that talent management, motivation, and career development each have a significant and positive effect on employee productivity, with talent management emerging as the most influential factor. These findings highlight that effective talent management practices such as strategic recruitment, competency development, and employee retention can substantially enhance organizational performance. Motivation, encompassing both intrinsic and extrinsic dimensions, was also found to drive higher productivity by fostering engagement and commitment. Additionally, career development opportunities contribute to improved productivity by increasing employees’ sense of purpose, capability, and career satisfaction. The study underscores the importance of adopting an integrated human resource management approach that combines talent optimization, motivational support, and career growth initiatives. Practically, the results suggest that organizations seeking to improve productivity should invest in employee-centered policies that align professional development with organizational goals. Theoretically, this research extends existing knowledge by validating the combined impact of these three key HR factors on productivity within the modern workplace context.

Abstract

Elementary education plays a crucial role in developing 21st-century competencies and sustainability awareness from an early age. However, the implementation of project-based learning integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) remains limited due to teachers’ insufficient understanding and skills in designing contextual learning materials. This community service program aimed to enhance elementary school teachers’ pedagogical competence in developing and implementing ESD-oriented Project-Based Learning (PjBL) modules. The program was conducted at SD Negeri Gembongan, Blitar Regency, involving 12 teachers through an integrated training and participatory mentoring approach. The activities included needs assessment, conceptual strengthening of ESD and PjBL, mentoring in project-based module development, and classroom implementation. Program evaluation employed a mixed-methods approach using pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observation, and teacher response questionnaires. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of ESD, PjBL, and deep learning concepts. The quality of the developed learning modules improved across all aspects, particularly in the clarity of ESD-oriented learning objectives, coherence of project stages, and utilization of local environmental potential. Classroom implementation demonstrated a very high level of project-based learning execution with active student engagement. Overall, this program contributes to the promotion of more contextual, meaningful, and sustainability-oriented learning practices in elementary schools.
