Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted to determine the efforts of employee training and providing incentives to improve employee performance through customer service at Kembar Ponsel Medan. The variables in this study consist of four independent variables, Job Training (X1) and Incentives (X2), while the dependent variable is Performance Improvement (Y) and the mediating variable is Service (Z). The research method used is a quantitative approach. Simultaneously, employee training efforts (X1) and providing incentives (X2) have a positive and significant influence on improving performance (Y). The combination of training that improves abilities and incentives that increase motivation is a very effective strategy to achieve optimal employee performance, namely the F-value (38,357) is greater than the F-table (3.34) with a significance value (0.000) less than 0.05. Simultaneously, employee training efforts (X1) and incentives (X2) have a positive and significant influence on customer service (Z), with the calculated F- value (11.326) greater than the F-table (3.34), and the significance value (0.000) less than 0.05. Thus, the synergy between increased capability (through training) and motivation (through incentives) results in higher service quality. Customer service (Z) is proven to act as an intervening variable that mediates the effect of incentives (X2) on performance improvement (Y). This means that incentives not only directly improve performance but also indirectly by motivating employees to provide better service, which ultimately improves performance. Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important instrument for social, economic, and environmental development, particularly in industrial regions such as Gresik Regency. However, regional CSR practices still face governance problems, including philanthropic tendencies, short-term programs, fragmented implementation, weak reporting systems, and limited impact measurement. This study develops Smart Corporate Social Responsibility (Smart CSR) as a governance model and evaluative framework to strengthen collaboration among local government, companies, and communities. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected from regional regulations, CSR reports, official government publications, observations, and semi-structured interviews with government actors, companies, beneficiary communities, and supporting stakeholders. Data were analyzed through inductive-deductive thematic analysis and an audit trail linking empirical evidence, themes, theory, and model development. The findings reveal a gap between the regulatory framework and implementation. Although local regulations provide a legal basis, company reporting remains limited, programs are dominated by short-term activities, coordination and community participation are inconsistent, and impact indicators are not standardized. Smart CSR integrates data-driven needs mapping, multi-actor role distribution, digital reporting, community participation, ESG/SDGs-based evaluation, and shared value creation. The model contributes to CSR, collaborative governance, and sustainable development literature in industrial regions of developing countries.

Abstract

The era of information disruption has brought significant changes to governance, particularly in terms of transparency, accountability, and public legitimacy. The virality of the presidential diploma issue in Indonesia serves as a concrete example of how a personal issue can escalate into a national debate, impacting public trust in the government. This study aims to describe the process of the presidential diploma issue's virality within the context of information disruption and analyze its impact on legitimacy and governance in Indonesia. The method used was a qualitative case study design. Data were obtained from academic literature, mass media coverage, social media content, and independent online media. Data collection techniques included documentation studies, digital discourse observations, and interviews. Data analysis employed a critical discourse analysis approach, emphasizing how narratives are produced, distributed, and received in the digital public sphere. The results show that the issue's virality is shaped through the interaction between social media algorithms, online media framing, and the involvement of political actors. This issue has resulted in declining public trust and weakening government legitimacy, despite formal clarification. The government's response has been deemed slow, reactive, and has not fully utilized regulations on information disclosure or the public document digitization system.

Abstract

Abstract: Government communication through social media has become an important instrument in delivering public information and building public trust. However, differences in discourse, language use, and communication strategies may influence public perceptions of government credibility and the implementation of good governance. This study aims to analyze government communication on social media using Critical Discourse Analysis and examine its implications for public trust and good governance. The study employed a qualitative approach with Critical Discourse Analysis as the primary method. Data were collected from government social media content, official statements, and relevant supporting documents. The analysis focused on language patterns, discourse construction, power relations, and the representation of transparency, accountability, and public participation. The findings indicate that government communication on social media reflects ideological perspectives and institutional interests that shape public understanding. Communication characterized by transparency, consistency, and responsiveness tends to strengthen public trust and support the implementation of good governance. Conversely, unclear or one-way communication may reduce public confidence and limit meaningful public engagement. Therefore, effective government communication strategies are essential to promote transparency, accountability, and stronger public trust. Keywords: critical discourse analysis; good governance; government communication; public trust; social media   Abstrak: Komunikasi pemerintah melalui media sosial telah menjadi sarana penting dalam penyampaian informasi publik serta membangun kepercayaan masyarakat.
