Abstract

Today's education requires students and teachers to be friendly with IT. Where in the learning process using applications that help the learning process and provide a pleasant effect for students. The Kahoot platform is a medium that can be used as an alternative in learning. The purpose of this paper is to explain the role of the Kahoot educational game in supporting mathematics learning, which teachers can later use as an alternative to learning so that learning is more varied, less boring and more fun. The writing of this article uses the literature study method by examining journals related to Kahoot!. The results of this study are the use of Kahoot media in mathematics learning, namely: student learning outcomes increase, accelerate understanding of material, increase student motivation and independence, increase thinking and learning skills, students have a positive attitude in learning, students are more active in learning, learning more fun and not boring, and increase interest in learning. It is recommended for teachers to use Kahoot media in mathematics learning, although not all material is presented with Kahoot. Kahoot can be used as an alternative learning media combined with learning methods.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to identify strategies and levels of intuitive understanding of elementary school students in measuring the area of a parallelogram. This type of study is a case study. Data collection techniques carried out by giving tasks, observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. This study has founded two new intuitive understanding strategies namely visual-concrete and estimation measurement strategies. Meanwhile, there are two levels of intuitive understanding transitions including level 2: visual –concrete covering and level 4: Array covering constructed by measurement estimation. The level of students' intuitive understanding constructed from these types of strategies can gradually reach the level of intuitive understanding, level 0 to level 6. The findings of this study imply the level of students' intuitive understanding in measuring the area in a more detailed and hierarchical area. The results of this study suggest that students can achieve a relational understanding or have a meaningful broad measurement concept, educators, especially at the elementary school level, must stimulate learning using intuitive understanding tasks gradually and not only be built through rectangular area measurement.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the mistake of vocational student in solving linier program question in term of conceptual and procedural understanding. The research was conducted at SMKN I Boyolangu Tulungagung. Subject was chosen based on the highest number of mistakes when completing linier program question. Data collection techniques in this research are test and interview. The instruments used in this research were the main instrument and supporting instrument. The main instrument is the researcher itself, while the supporting instrument are the test sheet and interview guidelines. To test the data validity in this research used time triangulation. Data analysis based on indicator of conceptual and procedural understanding that include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of this study indicate that students who make mistake do not have a good conceptual and procedural understanding. This can be seen from subject cannot explain how to solve the question. In addition, subject cannot continue the answer because subject do not know the next step that must be done. Subject alsocan not explain the steps in solving linier program question. For this reason, teacher need to pay attention to students’ understanding when learning in class, especially conceptual and procedural understanding. In addition, teacher mut choose or design a conceptual learning design and procedural understanding to achieve the learning objective.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of the critical thinking of field-dependent cognitive style students in problem-solving. This research is qualitative research. Research subjects are students who have field-dependent cognitive style in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Boyolangu, Indonesia. Data collection is GEFT test, math problem test, and interview. The results showed that strong field dependent students in mathematics problem solving aren't good at understanding the problem. At the implementing stage, the solution stage according to the previous plan. The problem-solving plan depends on the formulation of the problem that students found, students are less precise in carrying out the problem-solving. Students do not check again the answer. Critical thinking of weak field dependent students is not good in understanding the problem, and information in the problem is quite good. At the making solution plan stage, students do not write down what is known and asked and less able to express a solution plan clearly and logically with the problem. At the implementing stage, the solution plan is by the previous plan. The problem-solving plan depends on the problem formulation of the problem that students found, so students are less precise in carrying out the problem-solving. Students do not check again the answers.

Abstract

Several studies have discussed the internalization of Islamic values in mathematics, including Islam and mathematics, internalization of Islamic values in mathematics learning with analogy strategies, mathematical analysis of the philosophy of the Quran, the secret of numbers in the Qur’an. However it has never been discused abaout the internalization of Islamic moderation values in mathematical problem solving. So this research is needed. Moreover, the phenomenon of Islam in Indonesia is currently shifting away from the image of moderate Islam and into a harsher conservative ideology. This is more worrying because it has entered the realm of education. For that it is necessary to internalize the value of Ilamic moderation in mathematical problem solving. One of the strategies that can be done to instill religious moderation values in mathematical problem solving is the analogy strategy. Facts, concepts, and principles in mathematics can be used a analogy to instill religious moderation values. In this study, describe some examples of the application of analogy strategies for internalizing Islamic value. This study uses the library method. The data obtained were publications of research artcles in scientific journals. The analyed articles include three stages, organizing, synthesizing and identifying. The results of data analysis show that the value of tasamuh in mathematics learning can be done through open ended problem solving. The characteristics of open ended problem is problem that have more than one solution and answer  tolerance, so each student may have different and equally correct solutions and answers. This is in accordance with the principle of tasamuh value in Islamic moderation. Therefore, on classroom learning, the values of tasamuh can be implemented through open ended problem.
