Abstract

This study explores prospective mathematics teachers' perceptions of the importance of positive psychology and cultural diversity in mathematics learning within multicultural classrooms. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The participants were fifteen prospective mathematics teachers from various regions, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and open-ended questionnaires and then analyzed using thematic analysis. This study was conducted in April 2025 at the State Islamic University (UIN) Jurai Siwo Lampung. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis as developed by Braun and Clarke (2006). The findings reveal that most prospective teachers are initially aware of positive psychology's role in creating a supportive learning environment, including using praise, encouraging positive emotions, and developing students' potential. In addition, they view cultural diversity as a valuable aspect that can enrich the learning process, although their understanding remains general and is not yet reflected in concrete instructional planning. These findings highlight the need to integrate positive psychology and multicultural education into teacher education curricula to equip future teachers with inclusive and culturally responsive pedagogical competencies. This study also provides a foundation for developing training programs that prepare prospective teachers to manage multicultural classrooms effectively.

Abstract

Blind students exclusively use braille materials for teaching math. Teaching tools that assist blind students' motor and hearing nerves are essential for learning. This study was to describe learning mathematics outcomes for blind students after using teaching material for Android devices based on Newman's theory. This research was a case study of blind students. Blind junior high school students from special schools for visual impairment—extraordinary schools in Bandar Lampung, extraordinary schools in Cimahi, and Madrasah Tsanawiyah with special education in Yogyakarta—contributed to the study's subjects. The study employed questionnaires and test questions as research instruments for both teachers and students. The results of this study demonstrate that learning mathematics outcame blind students' after using teaching material with Android apps based on Newman's theory, specifically: i) reading errors: students can understand the information in the questions; ii) comprehension errors: students do not write down things that are known and asked; and iii) transformation errors: students write down the mathematical model (formula) used; iv) skill errors: students can do calculations correctly; and v) coding errors: students do not write conclusions. The average score of the blind students’ results using braille was higher than that of the Android application.

Abstract

Lumbricus rubellus, commonly known as the red earthworm, has long been used in traditional medicine and contains diverse bioactive compounds with therapeutic potential. However, comprehensive and systematic evaluation of its pharmacological mechanisms remains limited. This review systematically analyzes the pharmacological activities of L. rubellus based on in vivo and clinical trial evidence to provide an integrated scientific understanding of its therapeutic potential. A systematic literature search was performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for studies published between 2013 and 2022. The review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines, applying the PICOS framework for eligibility determination. Study quality was assessed using the ARRIVE checklist for in vivo studies and the JADAD scale for clinical trials. Twelve studies met the inclusion criteria, comprising nine in vivo and three clinical trials. Lumbricus rubellus demonstrated multiple pharmacological effects, including fibrinolytic, antibacterial, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, and anticancer activities. These effects are mainly attributed to proteins such as lumbrokinase and coelomic fluid metabolites that exhibit antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective actions. This review highlights strong evidence supporting the diverse pharmacological activities of L. rubellus and its potential as a natural source for developing novel therapeutic agents. Further standardized clinical investigations are required to confirm its efficacy and safety.

Abstract

Taxes are essential to the operation of the state because, in addition to serving as the primary source of funding, they serve a number of important purposes that promote communal welfare and development. Providing the state with the money it needs to pay various government and development initiatives is the primary goal of taxes. The state can fund social services, education, health care, and infrastructure development—all of which are critical to the welfare of the populace—through taxation. Taxes also serve as a tool for establishing social fairness. The state can provide advantages to the less fortunate and distribute income more fairly by collecting taxes from the wealthier citizens. This makes it easier for people at all levels of society to gain from progress and lessens social and economic inequalities. The findings demonstrated that state tax revenue's ability to lower poverty rates in Indonesia through health and education programs for the poor remains low, unequal, and insufficient for people who are currently poor or have low incomes. In terms of education, the dropout rate remains high, and rural communities continue to have inadequate access to health care. A comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable approach is required by the government in order to increase the impoverished population's access to health and education services in a way that is more sufficient, just, and equal

Abstract

Employability has become a critical issue for fresh graduates, particularly in facing increasingly competitive labor market demands. This study aims to examine the effect of soft skills, personal attributes, and job readiness on the employability of fresh graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram. Employability is conceptualized as the ability of graduates to obtain, maintain, and adapt to employment opportunities in a dynamic work environment. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of fresh graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram, with samples selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. Prior to hypothesis testing, classical assumption tests were conducted, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, to ensure the validity of the regression model. The results indicate that soft skills have a positive and significant effect on employability, highlighting the importance of communication skills, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities in enhancing graduates’ competitiveness. Personal attributes, including self-confidence, responsibility, and emotional control, are also found to have a significant positive effect on employability. Furthermore, job readiness significantly influences employability, suggesting that graduates who are better prepared mentally, cognitively, and behaviorally are more capable of meeting workplace expectations. Simultaneously, soft skills, personal attributes, and job readiness significantly affect employability.
