Abstract

Spatial thinking is a skill to remember, operate, manipulate, predict, combine, interpret, transform, explore an object to solve problems in various life contexts. Spatial thinking requires three related components, namely: the concept of space, spatial representation methods, and spatial reasoning. The difficulty of students for representing ideas encourages researchers to observe the spatial reasoning of elementary teacher training program’s student. Visual learning style is closely related to exact mathematical soul. Therefore, this study focuses on describing elementary teacher training program’ student’s visual learning style. The subjects of this research are students of class 2019 A and 2019 B as many as 70 elementary teacher training program’s student who are taking elementary school mathematics learning courses at a University in Surabaya and have been grouped into high, medium groups. and below. Medium group elementary teacher training program’s student were selected to be given a learning style test, which then described their spatial reasoning. The purpose of this study was to describe the reasoning of elementary teacher training program student’s visual learning style. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Researchers used written test, geometry problem-solving questions, and interviews to explore in-depth information on students who are elementary teacher training program’s student of visual learning style. There are 40 students in the medium group with details of 10 students with visual learning style, 30 students with auditory learning style and 10 students with kinesthetic learning style. The group of students who are elementary teacher training program student’s visual learning style are analyzed for their spatial reasoning based on the results of written tests and interviews. The results showed that the visual learning style student’s group tended to work sequentially and neatly meeting the criteria for spatial reasoning indicators. Visual learning style of elementary teacher training program’s student (KSV) could describe their spatial reasoning through the process of categorizing, generalizing, synthesizing, evaluating, define, combine, and represent in solving geometric problems. One of the main characteristics of visual learning styles appears when they manipulate objects and illustrate with sketches. Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk terbesar ke-4 di dunia. Berdasarkan data dari Badan Pusat Statistik, jumlah penduduk Indonesia di tahun di tahun 2015 penduduk Indonesia sebanyak 252 juta jiwa, sedangkan tahun 2020 jumlah penduduk Indonesia sudah menecapai 269 juta jiwa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa selama tahun 2015 sampai 2020, Penduduk Indonesia mengalami pertumbuhan sebesar 5.48%. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian analisis data kualitatif, yaitu mengkaji suatu kegiatan dan interaksi yang terdapat didalamnya secara lebih detail. Data yang digunakan didapatkan dari data hasil angket warga Desa Kedungsumur, Krembung, Sidoarjo wanita produktif yang melakukan program keluarga berencana (KB) secara random dengan pengambilan data maksimal 20 orang/RT. Berdasarkan data pada Tabel 1, jenis program KB yang digunakan oleh warga RT.01 sampai RT.14 di Desa Kedungsumur yaitu pil, suntikan, IUD spiral, kondom, susuk KB, sterilisasi, dan KB jenis lain, bahkan ada yang belum menggunakan KB sama sekali. Berdasarkan hasil dari angket atau quisioner dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan KB pada warga desa Kedungsumur, Krembung, Sidoarjo masih belum merata. Hal ini disebabkan karena beberapa warga tidak cocok dengan efek samping dari alat kontrasepsi KB. Warga desa Kedungsumur juga banyak yang tidak melakukan program keluarga berencana (KB) atau tidak KB. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan sosialisasi program KB, Jenis dan Manfaat KB, efek samping penggunaan KB dan Penggunaan KB di Desa Kedungsumur.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep pecahan seringkali menjadi tantangan bagi siswa sekolah dasar, dan metode pembelajaran tradisional terkadang tidak cukup efektif dalam mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Fraction Monkey dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pecahan pada siswa kelas 2 SD di Surabaya. Metode eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest diterapkan, melibatkan kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan Fraction Monkey dan kelompok kontrol yang menerapkan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen, dengan skor rata-rata tes meningkat dari 45.2 menjadi 78.6, dibandingkan dengan peningkatan dari 46.1 menjadi 55.4 pada kelompok kontrol. Analisis uji-t mengkonfirmasi bahwa perbedaan skor pada kelompok eksperimen adalah signifikan secara statistik (p < 0.01), sedangkan peningkatan pada kelompok kontrol juga signifikan tetapi lebih kecil. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Fraction Monkey secara efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang pecahan dan menyarankan agar permainan edukatif ini diintegrasikan dalam kurikulum matematika. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi efek jangka panjang dan fitur-fitur spesifik dari Fraction Monkey.

Abstract

Implementing Fraction Splat interactive media has significantly improved the numerical thinking abilities of grade 3 elementary school students in fraction material. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of this media in increasing students' understanding of fractions. The research uses descriptive qualitative data collection through written tests, student response questionnaires, interviews, observation, documentation, and the Miles and Huberman model data analysis techniques. The results showed that students with high abilities (TI) showed good skills in understanding and applying the concept of fractions. Meanwhile, students with moderate abilities (SI) show progress in understanding the concept of fractions but still experience difficulties in several aspects, such as participating in presenting discussion results, asking evaluation questions, and writing summaries or conclusions. Meanwhile, students with low ability (RI) have difficulty identifying and calculating fractions but can apply these concepts in everyday situations. Thus, the results of calculating student response questionnaires from the three subjects, it was found that the three subjects showed that the Fraction Splat interactive media was very effective, especially in helping subjects understand fraction material, and was included in the "Good" category with a percentage of 90% of 88.16% for use. Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze students' numerical thinking processes in solving FPB and KPK story problems based on local wisdom, as well as to identify effective learning strategies to improve students' numerical abilities. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through numerical thinking process tests, interviews with students and teachers, and observation of learning implementation. The research subjects consisted of 29 class IV students at SDN Wonokromo III Surabaya who were grouped based on high, medium and low abilities. Data was analyzed through reduction, presentation and verification. The research results show that students with high ability (MY) can solve questions well, showing strong and consistent numerical abilities. Students with moderate abilities (RP) are able to solve several questions, but still need improvement in understanding the KPK concept. Low ability (MM) students experienced difficulty in all questions, indicating the need for deeper and more focused learning strategies. The integration of local context in mathematics learning has proven effective in increasing student engagement and understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian Analisis Kesalahan Huruf Kapital dalam Penulisan Ulang Cerita Hewan Kelas II Tema 7 di SDN Margorejo 1/403 Surabaya. Siswa mengalami beberapa kesalahan dalam mengerjakan tes menulis lagi. Kesalahan penempatan huruf kapital, faktor penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan tes menulis ulang. Faktor kesalahan adalah tidak menggunakan huruf kapital dalam penulisan judul dan awal kalimat. Hasil tes siswa kelas II C SDN Margorejo 1/403 Surabaya yang berjumlah 19 siswa yang mengerjakan soal ulangan dan dianalisis peneliti, terdapat 10 siswa yang mengalami kesalahan dalam penulisan ulang cerita binatang dilihat dari jawaban 10 siswa tersebut masih banyak kesalahan. dalam mengerjakan tes tertulis yang diberikan oleh peneliti. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat 3 kesalahan yang sering terjadi dalam proses penulisan ulang cerita binatang, yaitu kesalahan penulisan judul, kesalahan penempatan tanda baca, dan kesalahan penempatan koma.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the current pandemic conditions which require students to study from home. There are several factors that make students less attractive to study, namely, the students' lack of interest in learning which is getting higher and teaching materials that are less interesting in learning. This research uses the type of classroom action research or commonly known as the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were second grade students of SDN Margorejo 1/403, totaling 29 students. Data collection techniques used are tests and observations. Meanwhile, the data collection instrument used a reading test using word cards and observation sheets. Data analysis technique using percentage. student learning outcomes, namely the average value of the class in the pre-cycle of 66.37 then in the first cycle to 72.24 and the second cycle to 80.51. The number of students who achieved KKM > 75 in the pre-cycle there were 11 students in the first cycle there were 20 students and in the second cycle there were 27 students. The percentage of completeness in the pre-cycle is 38%, the first cycle is 69% and the second cycle is 93.1%. So that in the second cycle, more than 80% of students reached the KKM > 75 criteria.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low critical thinking ability of students and the lack of student activity in participating in learning. In learning the teacher still uses the conventional model and has not yet applied the appropriate learning model, especially for science learning. One suitable learning model is using the discovery learning model. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of discovery learning learning model on the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students on the subject of human respiratory organs at SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya. This research is included in a quasi-experimental research, a quasi-research is a study that provides treatment and measures the effects of treatment but does not use a random sample to conclude the changes caused by the treatment. The method used by this research is in the form of essay test questions.Based on the results of the analysis in this study, there is an influence of the discovery learning model on the critical thinking skills of the Human Breathing Organ material for the fifth grade students of SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya. This can be proven by using the t test formula. So it can be concluded that the discovery learning model affects the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain how the spatial thinking process of V-C grade students at SDN Kalirungkut 1 Surabaya. This study used Qualitative Approach with explorative descriptive approach. Based on the findings of this study, it states that the spatial thinking proficiency of learning in the topic of curved-sided spaces related to mathematical economics is satisfactory. The observation results show that teachers and students have achieved the predetermined indicators. This was also evident from the written test results of 26 students of class V-C where 13 students were in the high category who were able to exceed the achievement standard. Teacher and student interviews have been in accordance with teacher and student observations, as well as written tests. It can be concluded that the use of ecomathematics teaching materials in learning curved-sided space building material is a useful innovation for SDN Kalirungkut 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the high ability representation process of second-grade elementary school students in fraction material based on ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics connects mathematical concepts with local culture, providing students with a more concrete and relevant context for understanding the material. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to depict findings from written representation tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data collection techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the research data is tested through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The analysis results indicate that the ethnomathematics approach is effective in enhancing students' understanding of fraction concepts. High-ability students can express mathematical concepts orally, in writing, and through drawings. They are also able to articulate their understanding through words, writing, and drawings, as well as interpret their comprehension into visual forms.
