Abstract

This study examines the influence of Learning Management System (LMS) management on learning outcomes and Islamic character development among students of Madrasah Aliyah through an explanatory quantitative research design. The study conceptualises Islamic character development not as a subject-specific religious outcome, but as an institutional and managerial outcome of systematically managed digital learning environments. LMS management is operationalised as the structured use of digital platforms to support planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of learning processes within madrasahs. The research analyses the relationship between LMS usage and two key dependent variables: cognitive learning outcomes and Islamic character development, encompassing honesty, discipline, responsibility, digital ethics, and empathy. Data were collected using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 120 students who had been actively using the LMS for at least 1 academic semester. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression techniques to examine the magnitude and significance of the relationships between variables. The results indicate that LMS management has a statistically significant and positive influence on both learning outcomes and Islamic character development. The effect of LMS management on learning outcomes was found to be stronger (β = 0.562, p < 0.01) than its effect on Islamic character development (β = 0.494, p < 0.01), suggesting that LMS is more effective in supporting cognitive achievement than in fostering character development. Further analysis shows that LMS usage explains 41.6% of the variance in students’ learning outcomes and 36.5% of the variance in Islamic character development. Despite these positive findings, the study reveals that the integration of Islamic values into LMS platforms remains limited, with only 50% of the surveyed madrasahs reporting the effective implementation of Islamic value-based digital learning content. This limitation indicates that character development through LMS has not yet been systematically planned or institutionally governed, but remains largely incidental. The findings highlight the need for stronger pedagogical planning, institutional coordination, and strategic content development to optimise the LMS's role in supporting holistic student development.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini yaitu  bagi siswa untuk dapat belajar secara mandiri, karena hal ini dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan mempermudah pemahaman materi pembelajaran, sehingga membantu mereka mengembangkan karakter yang lebih baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model siklus pembelajaran 7e terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi-eksperimental. Subjek penelitian yang ditargetkan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 1 Unter Iwes Sumbawa Besar, yang terdiri dari 2 kelas dengan total 60 siswa, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert dengan indikator kemandirian belajar, yaitu inisiatif belajar, tanggung jawab terhadap tugas, kepercayaan diri dalam belajar, kemampuan mengatur waktu belajar, dan kemampuan mengambil keputusan secara mandiri dalam proses belajar. Kedua kelas diberi pretest-posttest. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan nilai rata-rata, simpangan baku, nilai maksimum, dan nilai minimum kemandirian belajar siswa. Selanjutnya, sebelum melakukan uji hipotesis (uji-t), data terlebih dahulu diuji melalui uji prasyarat analisis, yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil Uji Sampel Independen, ditemukan bahwa kemandirian belajar siswa memperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,342 > 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model siklus pembelajaran 7e tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa kelas VIII IPA di SMP Negeri 1 Unter Iwes, Kabupaten Sumbawa. Hal ini karena siswa terbiasa mengandalkan informasi atau arahan dari guru karena model pembelajaran yang sering digunakan adalah berpusat pada guru.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies in the 21st century, so this study aims to present a systematic literature review on the role of mobile learning (m-learning) in fostering it at the higher education level by identifying trends, methodologies, effectiveness, and challenges. Following PRISMA guidelines, 20 articles from the Scopus database (2020-2025) were qualitatively analyzed. The results consistently show that m-learning interventions, especially when synergized with pedagogical models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), have proven significantly effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. Trend analysis reveals a geographic dominance of research from Indonesia (48.1%), with peak research productivity occurring in 2022 and dominated by R&D and quantitative approaches in the context of higher education in the fields of science and vocational studies. Despite this effectiveness, the main challenges identified are the low development of inference sub-skills and the risk of shallow learning. In conclusion, m-learning is a valid strategy; however, future research is recommended to move beyond proof-of-concept studies by focusing on increasing methodological rigor, investigating specific mechanisms between technology features and cognitive sub-skills, and expanding the research context to other disciplines to test the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is a cancer radiation treatment. This approach employs a boron carrier agent in the form of a chemical that is injected into the body and then travels to the cancer cells. In a lung cancer case study, BNCT treatment simulation was carried out using Monte Carlo N Particle (MCNP) software version 6.2. The goal of this study was to determine the most effective boron concentration and irradiation duration in lung cancer therapy utilizing the BNCT method. The geometry based on a phantom model created by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The simulated cancer geometry, which is placed in the right lung's middle lobe. The neutron source for the simulation is the collimator output from the Kartini Nuclear Reactor's thermal column. In this simulation, the variations in boron concentrations were 40 g/g, 45 g/g, 50 g/g, 55 g/g, and 60 g/g of cancer tissue at 5 g/g intervals. The researchers discovered a link between boron injection concentration and irradiation time, with higher boron injection concentrations resulting in shorter irradiation times. The volume of boron injected determines the effective dose absorbed by healthy tissue surrounding cancer cells. The effective boron concentration for lung cancer therapy is 60 g/g, with deterministic cell killing in the rib marrow and right lung. When utilizing a boron concentration of 60 g/g, the irradiation time is 20.4 minutes. Boron concentrations of 60 g/g are projected to create an effective irradiation time for BNCT-based lung cancer therapy based on the ALARA principle due to their shorter duration when compared to other concentration variations.
