Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and evaluate the extent of relationship between the soybean demand in a region and the number of cooperatives in the area, as well as the extent of relationship between the number of cooperative members (tofu and tempeh producers) and the number of cooperatives in the area. This study uses a quantitative approach based on primary data, later processed using Pearson correlation method. The results of data processing show that there is no significant relationship between the number of cooperatives and the number of producers. Furthermore, there is also no significant relationship between the number of cooperatives and existing soybean demands. This indicates the low role of cooperatives in the national soybean supply chain at the present. Therefore, there are two policy options that can be made. First, a radical policy, i.e. to leave out PRIMKOPTI in soybean supply chain at all. Second, the still mainstream policy, i.e. to still involve PRIMKOPTI, thus in order to make long-term programs in soybean business administration run well, PRIMKOPTI should be institutionally empowered and strengthened to achieve its business resilience.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop an intelligent decision support system for optimization of horticulture supply chain model using genetic algorithms. The case study was conducted at PT. Saung Mirwan, Megamendung-Bogor, a major producer of packed fresh vegetable and fresh-cut vegetable. The output of this research is an Intelligent Decision Support System of Supply Chain Management for Horticulture Agro industry (IDSS-SCM). IDSS-SCM consists of eight models: Products Demand Forecast, Vegetables Supply Forecast, Planting Schedule, Aggregate Planning, Material Requirements Planning I, Material Requirements Planning II, Inventory Management, and Transportation Route. Based on the most recent data collected, IDSS-SCM predicts that product demand will increase and it then gives optimum recommendations to the user such as plant schedule, material requirements planning, inventory, human resource allocation, and distribution route to fulfil the demand. The unique feature of this research was that a genetic algorithm (GA) with Partially Matched Crossover (PMX) operator was used to find the shortest distribution route as well as to optimize human resource allocation problem. The experiment results indicate that the GA developed in this research can solve a complex agroindustrial supply chain design problem faster and more efficiently. Keywords: intelligent decision support system, genetic algorithms, supply chain management, agroindustry, partially matched crossover.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to design an agent model for forecasting demand for rubber-based automotive parts using the Agent Based Modelling and Double Exponential Smoothing (ABMDES) approach. Model design in rubber-based automotive spare parts forecasting using the integration of Agent Based Modelling (ABM) approach and Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) technique was done using agent design approach based on class diagram and definition function for each agent in mathematics models including DES-based forecasting. The ABM design has a structure consisting of an agent ID, an attribute to be calculated by the computer and function / process consisting of a function that has values and voids (unstructured). Combining ABM and DES can guide us to see the forecast accuracy, monitoring the estimation of stock shortage and the excess of stock due to errors in DES forecast. Therefore, the Agent Based Modelling-Double Exponential Smoothing (ABMDES) approach is suitable for modelling the demand of rubber-based automotive parts in business simulation.
