Abstract

Surabaya's Mangrove Botanical Garden, with an area of 25 hectares, offers views of the mangrove forest, jogging trails, a monitoring tower, boat docks and picnic areas. Despite its great tourism potential, visitor numbers are still relatively low and there are deficiencies in facilities and services. Data shows the destruction of mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia and the need for more attention to the management and promotion of this destination. Data shows that Indonesia's mangrove ecosystems, which cover 4.25 million hectares, are significantly damaged, with 48% moderately damaged and 23% severely damaged. Several Google Reviews cite deficiencies in infrastructure and management that affect visitor satisfaction. This study involved 25 respondents from pentahelix stakeholders (government, academia, business, community, media) and used qualitative descriptive analysis to identify ecotourism development patterns and strategies. This study aims to identify efforts to develop the Mangrove Botanical Garden ecotourism area through a pentahelix perspective, which involves the government, academics, business people, the community, and the media. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis. This analysis includes organising, simplifying and synthesising data to identify patterns and main themes, as well as formulating working hypotheses. Overall, the Gunung Anyar Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden shows positive developments in environmental conservation efforts and ecotourism development. The botanical garden manager has planned various strategic steps to improve the attractiveness and quality of services, which are expected to have a positive impact on both visitors and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

The Mangrove Botanical Garden of Gunung Anyar is the first and only thematic Mangrove Botanical Garden in Indonesia. Covering a total area of 34 hectares, the Mangrove Botanical Garden of Gunung Anyar houses 59 types of mangrove plants. In 2024, there was a decline in visitor numbers, possibly due to the implementation of entrance tickets which were previously not enforced or were free. This change has prompted many visitors to reconsider visiting the Mangrove Botanical Garden of Gunung Anyar. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors influencing visitor satisfaction levels at the Mangrove Botanical Garden of Gunung Anyar. Quantitative data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS through the Warp-PLS 7.0 application with four variables: service quality, price, facilities, and destination image. In this analysis, researchers collected and processed data from questionnaires distributed to visitors, assigning weights to each Likert scale response. The research findings indicate that service quality has a coefficient path of 0.03 and a significance of 0.36, showing a positive but not significant effect on visitor satisfaction, thus rejecting the hypothesis. Meanwhile, the influence of price, facilities, and destination image on visitor satisfaction demonstrates a positive and significant impact with a significance value of <0.01, thereby accepting the hypothesis. Destination image has the most significant impact on visitor satisfaction, with a path coefficient of 0.48, and the most influential indicator being unique destination image with a path coefficient of 0.897.

Abstract

This research endeavors to 1) Analyze the costs, revenues, profitability, and economic feasibility of rice farming 2) Analyze the degree of income risk in rice farming. The research site was chosen through a purposive method. The researchers employed quantitative methods with a descriptive framework to conduct the study. The research sample consisted of 38 rice farmers selected using probability sampling. The results showed that the average land area of farmers was 0.36 hectares. The total cost during the rainy season reaches Rp2,957,031, while in the dry season it is Rp7,186,499. Revenue in the rainy season is Rp7,696,842, while in the dry season it reaches Rp10,017,000. Income in the rainy season is Rp4,739,811, and in the dry season it is Rp7,186,499. Economic feasibility is measured using several indicators. In the rainy season, the R/C Ratio is 2.41, the B/C Ratio is 1.41, the Production BEP is 462,036, and the BEP Price is Rp2,787. In the dry season, the same values are 3.33 for the R/C Ratio, 2.33 for the B/C Ratio, 404,357 for the Production BEP, and Rp2,281 for the BEP Price. Furthermore, we assess revenue risk utilizing the Coefficient of Variation (CV) in our research. In the rainy season, the KV value is 0.031, while in the dry season it is 0.026. In conclusion, the economy of rice farming in Cangkringsari Village is more profitable during the dry season than padpenga with the rainy season. In addition, the risk of income obtained is higher in the rainy season compared to the dry season.
