Abstract

Ecoprint is an art technique that uses natural materials to print patterns or images on media such as fabric or paper, and has recently become increasingly popular in the art world due to its uniqueness and ability to create works connected to nature. This study aims to analyze the application of the ecoprint technique using pounding in visual arts learning for 4th-grade elementary school students. Ecoprint, a technique that utilizes natural materials to imprint patterns on fabric, is gaining popularity in the art world due to its unique and aesthetic results. Visual arts education in 4th-grade elementary school aims to foster creativity in students and introduce art concepts that can be integrated with their surrounding environment. The research used an experimental method with a qualitative approach, where the ecoprint pounding technique is applied to several 4th-grade students. Data was collected through observations and interviews with teachers and students, as well as documentation of the art creation process. The analysis evaluated the effectiveness of this technique in supporting visual arts education while promoting students’ aesthetic development. The results show that the application of the ecoprint pounding technique successfully enhances students’ interest and skills in visual arts. This technique also introduces aesthetic values that connect art with nature, aligning with the goals of visual arts education in elementary schools. In conclusion, ecoprint with the pounding technique can be an effective alternative in visual arts learning in elementary schools, particularly in fostering creativity and students’ aesthetic understanding in 4th-grade classes.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop traditional learning media using Congklak for teaching fractions in grade 5 elementary school with an ethnomathematics approach and (2) assess its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. Congklak was chosen for its ability to contextualize fractions engagingly, linking local culture with mathematics. The ethnomathematics approach provides a cultural framework that enhances students' understanding of fractions through meaningful cultural experiences. The research adopts the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), covering needs analysis, media design, product development, implementation, and evaluation. Instruments include validation sheets, practicality assessments, response questionnaires, and summative tests. Results show that ethnomathematics-based Congklak media significantly improves students' understanding of fractions, achieving a 96.78% success rate. Students also responded positively to its use in mathematics learning. This study contributes to the development of culture-based learning media that enhance the quality of mathematics education while promoting the preservation of local cultural values.

Abstract

The research of matryoshka animal media development is established based on the problem that exists which is the students' characteristic of inability to focus on and the teacher who got difficulty in giving understanding upon the teaching material toward the students. Therefore, the researchers create a concrete tool for the learning targets. The aims of this research are: (1) to know and describe the development of the matryoshka animal media in thematic learning in grade IV theme 6 sub-theme 2 in SDN Ketawanggede Malang; (2) to know and describe the application of matryoshka animal media in thematic learning in grade VI theme 6 sub-theme 2 in SDN Ketawanggede Malang. This research used ADDIE developmental model. This developmental ADDIE model has 5 stages which are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative and qualitative to know the applicable product that has been developed. This research was done in grade IV of SDN Ketawanggede. The result from this developmental research of matryoshka animal media on thematic learning in grade IV theme 6 sub-theme 2 based on the scoring percentage which is (1) the percentage of material validation is 85% within a valid category, and master of media is 88% within a valid category, and right to be used. While the percentage of teachers' responses is 100% and students' response from 25 students shows 96% and pass the criterion. Based on the percentage matryoshka animal media is passed and right to be implemented.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of problem-solving skills in 3C grade students at SDN Kauman 1 through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on subtraction of whole numbers. The research employs a quantitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observation, diagnostic and formative assessment tests, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the implementation of PBL enhances students' problem-solving skills, as evidenced by the increase in the average pre-test score from 55.32 to 78.46 in the post-test. Moreover, PBL positively influences students' interest and motivation in learning. The use of technology, visual media, and problem-based games creates an engaging, interactive, and relevant learning experience for students. The application of PBL involving group collaboration, peer teaching, and concrete media also strengthens students' understanding of the material. Overall, this study demonstrates that PBL is effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on educational games in improving mathematics problem solving skills in class 1C students at SDN Kauman 1 Malang City. This research approach uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of PBL based on educational games can significantly improve students' ability to identify, formulate, and solve mathematical problems. This model also increases motivation, participation, and critical thinking and collaboration skills among students. Educational games that are designed to help students understand mathematical concepts in a real context can also create fun and meaningful learning, in line with constructivist learning theory. Obstacles such as differences in student understanding and time constraints can be overcome with intensive assistance and simplification of the games. This study also concluded that PBL based on educational games is an innovative approach that is effective in improving problem solving skills and student engagement.
