Abstract

Sejumlah penelitian terdahulu menemukan fakta bahwa kemampuan argumentasi siswa di Indonesia masih berada pada level dasar. Siswa memiliki kecenderungan menggunakan logika yang keliru, data tidak relevan, serta menyajikan claim tanpa memberikan dukungan dalam bentuk bukti dan fakta. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran terintegrasi Socio-scientific Issues (SSI) yang layak untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan argumentasi tertulis siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) dengan pelaksanaan hingga tahap pengembangan. Pada tahap analisis, dilakukan analisis kebutuhan dengan temuan bahwa siswa baru mampu menyusun argumen berbasis claim tanpa disertai bukti (evidence) yang relevan. Produk yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media dengan hasil 82,3% (kategori sangat valid), memenuhi kriteria sebagai sumber belajar. Uji kepraktisan oleh guru memperoleh skor 95,8%, sedangkan uji keterbacaan siswa mencapai 88%, menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini praktis dan mudah dipahami. Namun, penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk menguji efektivitas media dalam meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi tertulis siswa.

Abstract

Irigasi merupakan salah satu teknologi pertanian yang mempunyai peran terhadap peningkatan produktivitas usaha tani dan kesehjateraannya. Pembuatan irigasi dengan membangun saluran-saluran ataupun bangunan sebagai bentuk upaya mengairi lahan pertanian secara teratur. Lahan tadah hujan atau ladang kelompok tani sri gading Desa gadingkulon seringkali tidak maksimal dikarenakan kesulitan suplai air saat musim kemarau tiba yang mengakibatkan terhambatnya aktivitas petani. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan sebagai solusi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra dengan tujuan meningkatkan sistem cadangan air, efisiensi pengisian tandon air, dan pendampingan kelola air yang adil. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan tiga kegiatan utama, yaitu: 1. Perakitan alat sedot yang kuat untuk mengalirkan air dari sumber air; 2. Pemasangan saluran pipa dari sumber air ke tandon; dan 3. Pembuatan tandon bioflok sebagai tempat cadangan air untuk didistribusikan ke lahan pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan di Desa Gadingkulon ini membuktikan bahwa penggabungan antara edukasi teknis, pembangunan sarana sederhana serta pendampingan di lapangan memiliki peran penting dan kolaborasi lintas pihak (akademisi, kelompok tani, dan perangkat desa) dapat mempercepat adopsi teknologi serta menjawab permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra.

Abstract

Lahan pertanian di Desa Gadingkulon, Kecamatan Dau, Kabupaten Malang terdiri atas lahan basah atau persawahan dan lahan tadah hujan atau ladang. Lahan persawahan relatif aman terhadap suplai air, namun lahan ladang kesulitan memperoleh air saat musim kemarau sehingga aktivitas pertanian terbatas. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini, sasaran penerima manfaat adalah petani jeruk yang menggunakan ladang. Tujuannya untuk meningkatkan sistem cadangan air di ladang petani jeruk, meningkatkan efisiensi pengisian tandon air, serta pendampingan kelola air yang adil. Kegiatan terealisasi melalui tiga aktivitas utama, yaitu perakitan alat sedot yang kuat untuk mengalirkan air pada elevasi 70% sepanjang 200 m, pipanisasi dari embung ke tandon transit dan ke lahan pertanian, serta distribusi air ke kelompok tani menggunakan sistem bioflok. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan tersebut menjadi solusi nyata bagi petani jeruk dalam mengatasi irigasi saat musim kemarau, serta menunjukkan bahwa edukasi teknis, pembangunan sarana sederhana, dan pendampingan lapangan mampu mendorong perubahan paradigma petani dari pasif menjadi aktif dan mempercepat adopsi teknologi. Program ini diharapkan berkelanjutan dengan dampak jangka panjang berupa peningkatan produktivitas jeruk dan ketahanan pertanian lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize, characterize, and evaluate the photocatalytic activity of a montmorillonite–ZnO (MMT/ZnO) composite for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under ultraviolet (UV) and dark (non-UV) conditions. The composite was prepared by mixing synthetic montmorillonite derived from Indonesian soil with ZnO in ethanol, followed by calcination at 400 °C for 2 hours, and subsequently characterized using X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The degradation tests were performed using various composite masses (0.5–2.5 g) and compared with single ZnO and montmorillonite materials through visible spectrophotometry analysis. The results revealed that under UV irradiation, MMT/ZnO achieved the highest degradation efficiency of 98.37%, while under non-UV conditions, MB removal remained high at 88.39%, primarily driven by adsorption. These findings confirm a synergistic effect between the adsorption capacity of montmorillonite and the photocatalytic activity of ZnO, where adsorption dominated MB removal while photocatalysis contributed to enhancing overall degradation efficiency. The novelty of this study lies in the utilization of synthetic Indonesian montmorillonite as a ZnO support, which enhances photocatalytic efficiency while reducing production costs. This finding highlights the potential of MMT/ZnO composites as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative for dye wastewater treatment in the textile industry.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are an important part of 21st century learning that needs to be developed in teaching and learning activities. However, the results of observations and interviews with teachers at one of junior high school student in Malang, Indonesia showed that science learning has not fully facilitated optimal student collaboration. One alternative solution that can be done is through the development of student worksheets based on local folklore that is contextual and encourages group cooperation. This study aims to develop student worksheets based on the folklore "Sumber Wendit", which is feasible and practical to use in science learning on food chain materials. The study used the Research and Development (R and D) method of the Borg and Gall model, which was modified and implemented until the product revision stage. The validation test was carried out by one expert validator, while the readability and practicality tests each involved 25 students and one science teacher. The results showed that the student worksheets were in the very feasible category in terms of content, language, presentation, and appearance. This student worksheets were also considered easy to understand by students and helped them work together in understanding the concept of the ecosystem meaningfully. Thus, this student worksheets is declared valid, practical, and has the potential to support strengthening collaboration in science learning.

Abstract

Beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L.) as Indonesian herbal plants contain secondary metabolites such as flavonoids. Beluntas leaf parts can be used as medicine. The content of secondary metabolites in Beluntas leaves acts as a natural antioxidant. Beluntas leaf extraction has not been optimal so far. Microwave assisted extraction can increase the yield. This research aims to study the effect of giving different types of solvents of extraction on Beluntas leaves on the levels of flavonoids and the resulting antioxidant activity, and determine the profile of Beluntas leaf extraction results based on comparative trials of the maceration method and MAE (microwave-assisted extraction). This research was conducted in 4 stages: (1) sample preparation of dried Beluntas leaves, (2) extraction by maceration with various types of solvents n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and 70% ethanol, (3) the characteristics of the flavonoid compounds, namely the qualitative test and the quantitative test with AlCl3, and (4) the measurement of antioxidant activity in Beluntas leaf extract using the DPPH method. The results of this study obtained a total flavonoid content of 4.23 mgQE/g which was the result of maceration of the ethyl acetate solvent extract (yield: 5.09%), and all Beluntas leaf extracts in ethyl acetate solvent were included in the category of very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 31.68 μg/mL.

Abstract

Diarrheal is a disease that is widely endemic in tropical countries, especially in Indonesia. The bacterium that causes the appearance of diarrheal diseases is Eschericia coli. Plants that have the potential to be a cure for diarrhea are ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.). Ketapang seeds contain tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins that can be used as antibacterial. This study aims to identify the effect of ketapang seed extract on the activity of E. coli bacteria. Extraction of ketapang seeds is carried out by the soxhlet extraction method with a solvent mixture of water and ethanol 96%. This research is a laboratory experiment. Bacterial growth inhibition test is carried out by the phytochemical test of ketapang seed extract with the addition of FeCl3 solution showed positive results containing tannin compound indicated by the formation of a blackish-green colored solution. Positive control was carried out with amoxicillin and negative control with 70% ethanol solution. The results of the ANOVA test analysis obtained a significance value of 0.963, interpreted that there was a difference in inhibition power in variations in the concentration of ketapang seed extract with the most effective extract concentration being 0.8%. The higher the concentration of ketapang seed extract, the greater the inhibition against the growth of E. coli bacteria, therefore it can be used as a basic ingredient for anti-diarrhea drugs.
