Abstract

The engagement of entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry is essential to generate business growth and sustainability through Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). However, the sector contributes less to the GRDP of Bogor Regency. The competence of agricultural entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial ecosystems causes this condition. Meanwhile, productive entrepreneurship can occur through interactions between business owners and their environment. So, this research aimed to analyze the entrepreneurial ecosystem's constructions and role in agricultural entrepreneurship productivity in Bogor Regency. The research used a quantitative approach and followed the Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique. The results of primary data obtained by interviewing 110 respondents using a Likert-scale questionnaire showed that this study strengthens the theory of entrepreneurial ecosystems that empirically contribute to entrepreneurial productivity geographically and in terms of industry specifications. Enhancing high-growth entrepreneurs, increasing income, and growing new businesses are related to entrepreneurial ecosystem’ roles. Hence, reinforcing essential elements of ecosystems was concluded as the practical implications of the findings.

Abstract

Farmer institutions have been unable to improve farmer production and welfare. Modern cooperatives are increasingly recognized for their good impact on farmers' well-being. This study seeks to identify critical success criteria for modern cooperatives, examine the performance of the Al Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School Cooperative (Kopontren), and investigate the responsibilities of stakeholders in their partnership value chain. This study also looks at the influence of these partnerships on farmer well-being and proposes an inclusive, sustainable food sector partnership model based on cooperatives. Data were acquired using qualitative descriptive methods, including narrative literature reviews, benchmarking, and in-depth interviews. The value chain analysis identified four major pillars of modern cooperatives: governance, economy, social, and environmental. Al Ittifaq Kopontren received a checklist rating of 0.66, indicating that it is good. Farmer incomes increased by 6-55% in 2023 compared to 2022, demonstrating the effectiveness of cooperative business partnerships in raising revenue. Future success necessitates the implementation of an inclusive, long-term partnership model involving strong institutions, research bodies, sustainable standards, and export-oriented and downstream product development.

Measurements are carried out using composite indicators of sustainable agriculture with stages of indicator selection, data gathering, normalization, weighting, and aggregation of indicators. Data before the program was chosen from 2017 to 2020 and after the program was selected from 2021 to 2023. The sustainable agriculture index before the program was 0.48 with a fairly sustainable category. Then the index after the sustainable agriculture program was 0.63 with a sustainable category. Increases occurred in all dimensions indicating the success of the sustainable agriculture program.

Abstract

The agricultural sector, although a key pillar of Bogor Regency's economy, contributes relatively less compared to other industries, largely due to limited entrepreneurial capabilities and an underdeveloped entrepreneurship ecosystem. This study aims to identify strategic priorities for enhancing agricultural entrepreneurship productivity through ecosystem strengthening. Using Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) on data collected from 110 agricultural entrepreneurs, the results indicate that while networking elements exhibit strong performance, several critical areas require strategic intervention. Specifically, promoting a research-driven entrepreneurial culture, expanding market access, empowering intermediary institutions, and reinforcing ecosystem leadership are essential. Strengthening these elements is expected to foster a more dynamic and sustainable entrepreneurial environment, ultimately accelerating the agricultural sector's transformation within the service-based economy. Abstract

Shallot farming has the main characteristic of being season-dependent. The phenomenon of shallot production scarcity in central areas generally occurs during the off-season, when production is 30% lower compared to the in-season. Human resource development is a key factor in facing this challenge. Globalization demands creative and innovative farmers to thrive and compete. The role of entrepreneurial behavior in the agricultural sector is essential to create more innovative, independent, and risk-taking farmers in managing their farms. This research aimed to (1) examine how individual characteristics and the business environment influence the entrepreneurial behavior of shallot farmers and (2) assess the influence of this entrepreneurial behavior on the performance of shallot farming. This study employed SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling) using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach for data analysis, with a total sample of 130 respondents. The results showed that individual characteristics and the business environment positively and significantly influence entrepreneurial behavior, which in turn positively affects shallot farming performance. The improvement of farmers' entrepreneurial behavior is influenced by internal factors (individual characteristics) and external factors (business environment), yet the ability to grow and take risks remains a weak indicator. Building capacity through training and gaining access to low-interest financing (KUR) can help farmers overcome challenges. Additionally, low farming commitment due to unstable farmer incomes can be addressed through price stabilization programs, such as partnerships to ensure market access with consistent selling prices. Future research is recommended to explore strategies for enhancing farm performance through factors beyond entrepreneurial behavior.

The sustainability of program implementation is dependent on the active participation of members which influenced by satisfaction with the role of the group. This study aims to analyze the levels and attributes that determine member satisfaction to the role of the group in implementation the KRPL program. The research was conducted at KWT Kentagor Mandiri Kencana Village, Tanah Sereal District, Bogor City in December 2019-June 2020. Sample amount of 34 people were determined by census method. The data used are primary and secondary data. Primary data comes from interviews with KWT members while secondary data is obtained from literature studies and documents of related agencies. The level of member satisfaction with the group's role in implementing the yard utilization program was analyzed using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) approach, while the determining factors were determined using a quadrant analysis on the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA).The results show that the members are satisfied with the performance of the group's role in implementation the KRPL program as indicated by the CSI index value of 0.80. There are five attributes that determine members' satisfaction with the role of the group in implementation the KRPL program, namely planning learning needs, arranging group task division, planning collaborative activities, planning the types of foodstuffs to be cultivated and facilitating the availability of seeds
