Abstract

Abstract Background : Safety in a company is the main and first thing. No exception in oil and gas company X in Cilacap, Indonesia. This company requires that all contractor companies that send their workers be required to fulfill the Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS) in this oil and gas company. This study is intended to analyze the work safety performance of workers sent by the contractor companies of the oil and gas company X. Methods :This research is a quantitative descriptive study that uses a sample of respondents. The research method used in this study is the survey method by interviewing each selected respondent. Results : The results of this study indicate the relationship between each selected variable related to work safety performance in this oil and gas company X. Conclusion : It is expected that with this research, work safety in oil and gas companies X can be further enhanced for the good in the future. Abstract

Suhu tinggi di bagian laundry Rumah Sakit menyebakan 60% pekerja merasakan kelelahan. Upaya yang dilakukan manajemen Rumah Sakit dalam mengatasi kelelahan kerja adalah disediakannya recovery room guna mempercepat proses pemulihan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis efektifitas recovery room dalam menurunkan kelelahan kerja, melihat pemanfaatan recovery room dan kendala yang dihadapi dalam pemanfaatannya. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi eksperimen, one group pre – posttest design dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan wawancara. Populasi dan sampel adalah seluruh pekerja di bagian laundry sejumlah 50 responden. Analisis data menggunakan uji beda Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat kelelahan kerja antara sebelum dan sesudah memanfaatkan recovery room yang ditunjukkan dengan penurunan nilai mean dari 336,7 (sebelum intervensi) menjadi 290,8 (setelah intervensi) dengan p value = 0,000 < α (0,05). Recovery room belum sepenuhnya dapat dimanfaatkan oleh semua pekerja karena keterbatasan tempat, kurangnya privasi dan persepsi pekerja bahwa istirahat dimanapun sama. Recovery room efektif menurunkan kelelahan kerja pekerja laundry di Rumah sakit. Diharapkan manajemen rumah sakit agar dapat memastikan pekerja dapat memanfaatkan recovery room dengan cara mangatur jadwal penggunaan recovery room, mengatur waktu istirahat, edukasi pentingnya memanfaatkan recovery room dan menambah kapasitas agar semua pekerja dapat mengakses recovery room dengan optimal.

Abstract

Rumah sakit sebagai institusi pelayanan kesehatan harus mempunyai komitmen pada keselamatan pasien, pengunjung, staf, maupun pihak independen yang berada di lingkungan rumah sakit. Rumah sakit perlu meminamalisir potensi bahaya yang timbul akibat kecelakaan kerja ataupun penyakit akibat kerja yang sebagian besar terjadi akibat tertusuk jarum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan budaya keselamatan kerja dalam pencegahan kejadian tertusuk jarum di RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 1.171 perawat yang bekerja di ruang rawat inap. Metode sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dan besar sampel ditentukan menggunakan rumus slovin sejumlah 300 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat korelasi signifikan pencegahan kejadian tertusuk jarum dengan komitmen manajemen (Pv=0,002), peraturan dan prosedur (Pv=0,000) serta perilaku pekerja (Pv=0,000), sedangkan komunikasi tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa faktor budaya keselamatan kerja dalam pencegahan kejadian tertusuk jarum yang paling berpengaruh adalah perilaku pekerja.

Abstract

Bencana merupakan peristiwa serta rangkaian peristiwa yang dapat mengancam dan mengganggu kehidupan serta penghidupan masyarakat. Pada tahun 2018 akibat dari gempa dan tsunami di Sulawesi tengah menghancurkan 18 rumah sakit dan 167 fasyankes. Keberadaan komitmen manajemen yang kokoh sangat diperlukan rumah sakit agar bisa meningkatkan kesiapan rumah sakit dalam menghadapi bencana. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis komitmen manajemen dalam penerapan kesiapsiagaan bencana di RSUD Indramayu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang mengumpulkan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, telaah dokumen, dan wawancara mendalam semi terstruktur. Ada 9 Informan yakni 2 Informan kuci, 4 informan utama dan 3 informan tambahan. Dimana data yang dihasilkan kemudian dianalis menggunakan interactive model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada komitmen manajemen terkait organisasi penanggulangan bencana, sarana prasarana, prosedur, sumber daya, serta pelatihan dan pendidikan. Namun kinerja organisasi penanggulangan bencana belum berjalan maksimal. Sarana dan prasarana penanggulangan bencana memerlukan penambahan dan pemeriksaan rutin. Sebagian besar karyawan baru tidak mengetahui adanya prosedur penanggulangan bencana. Dan sebagian besar karyawan telah menerima pelatihan terkait penanggulangan bencana di RSUD Indramayu. Seluruh informan memiliki komitmen afektif. Analisis pelaksanaan penanggulangan bencana menggunakan Indikator Rencana Bencana Rumah Sakit (HDP) hanya 7 indikator yang memenuhi standar dan belum melakukan self assessment terkaitIndeks Keselamatan Rumah Sakit (HSI) di RSUD Indramayu.

Abstract

Abstract: Fatigue is a protective mechanism released by human’s body to avoid further damage, so then after resting the body will experience recovery. Fatigue can affect a person's ability to think clearly and respond appropriately, and also is related to injuries that can occur at work. This study aims to describe the physical workload, nutritional status, and hydration status with fatigue in informal sector workers. The method used in this research is literature study, conducted online through several trusted websites or internet sites such as Sciendirect, JSTOR, ProQuest, Cambridge Core, Scopus, and Google Schoolar. This research was conducted on 20 articles consisting of 15 national articles and 5 international articles. Articles are analyzed by data extraction and processed through stages in the form of organizing, synthesizing, identifying, and formulating. The results of this research based on 20 articles, showed there was a relationship between physical workload and fatigue in all articles, five of the eight articles did not have a relationship between nutritional status with fatigue, and four out of five articles had a relationship between hydration status and work fatigue on workers in informal sectorKeywords : Worker Fatigue, Physical Workload, Nutritional Status, Hydration Status, Informal Sector Workers

Abstract

Unsafe Behaviour is an act of workers who deviate from the principle of the HSE and safe procedure, which can cause accidents. Around 88% accident in work place caused from unsafe action. Action can be affected by predisposing factor, enabling factor and reinforcing factor.The aim of this study was to identify the association of worker characteristic, safety promotion and PPE availability inmechanical maintenance worker with unsafe action.This type of research is cross sectional study with observasional study and analytic.Population of this research is mechanical maintenance workerstotaling 57 people, and the sample in this study using total population method. Data was measured by filling questioner by respondent and observation by researcher. Statistical analysis is using Chi- Square correlation test with the results showed there are no correlation between age, job status, education level, job tenure, and knowledge with unsafe action (p value ≥0,05). There are correlation between manner, supervision, training, and PPE availabilitywith unsafe action (p value <0,05). Company should give training to all workers,monitoring CSMS and KPI on contractor and give reward for workers that obedient and safe action.

Abstract

Increased hearing threshold is acute or chronic hearing loss caused by noise exposure that it can reduce the ability of auditory sense function. The hearing threshold in people can be detected by doing an audiometric test to determine hearing ability in certain intensity. Based on preliminary studies, one manufacturing industry in Semarang, Central Java has implemented the Hearing Conservation Program, one of the efforts to control the potential noise hazards. The aim was determine the relationship between the effectiveness of the Hearing Conservation Program implementation with an increased hearing threshold for workers. The research design was descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 26 respondents who were workers in the work area with noise>85 dBA, and had done audiometry tests. The research instruments used were questionnaires and observation sheets from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in A Practical Guide to Effective Hearing Conservation Programs in the Workplace with publication number 90-120 Appendix A, namely OSHA Noise Standard Compliance Checklist. Statistical analysis using the Rank Spearman. The results was no relationship age (p-value 0.607), and work period (p-value 0.162), and disease history (p-value 0.282) increase threshold in manufacturing industry workers. The application of the Hearing Conservation Program in the manufacturing industry in this case includes an effective one with a work <5% that is equal to 0.38%. Researchers to conduct safety briefings on workers who are in a very high work area and provide benefits for personal protective equipment while working.

Abstract

Nisya Batik is a batik industry that included to an Informal Industry Sector. One of the health risks that could possibly happen is Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This research is using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method which analyzes body posture of a worker while working. There are 11 activities batik at Nisya Batik, including spreading a fabric, making  stamp pattern, taking paraffin with canting, covering stamp, making  mixture of fabric dye, pouring water into coloration’s tool, coloring fabric, draining fabric, boiling fabric, draining fabric and seasoning fabric. The body posture that scored by researcher is including neck posture, back posture, upper arm posture, lower arm posture, wrist posture and leg posture. This research is also describing subjective complaints of the worker who related to MSDs. The purpose of this research is to analyze Ergonomic Risk Level using REBA Method to the complaint of MSDs to batik craftsmen at Nisya Batik, Kuningan. This Research is a qualitative research using observational approach and interview. The observation is using observe work postur to a worker as a main informan and the interview is using to a worker and also to the Business owner as a triangulation informant. Based on observations result with using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), there are 9 percent (1 posture) with low risk (low risk); 64 percent (7 postures) with medium risk (medium risk); and 27 percent (3 postures) with high risk (high risk). There is a subjective complaint associated with MSDs worker felt like aches and pains. It can be concluded that the analysis of the risk level of ergonomics at Nisya Batik batik craftsmen in Kuningan varies with accompanying diverse subjective complaints.

Abstract

Process Safety Information (PSI) contains technical information needed to identify hazards, assessing risk potentials, and maintaining the risk itself to actualize a safety operation. Area X is a Gathering Station which serves as a collecting place for drilling fluids such as oil, water and gas from oil wells. Results from observatuon and interviews shows that 20,2% workers at Area X have a low level of knowledge and understanding of PSI. Factors correlating with workers’ obedience such as age, knowledge, manner, motivation, social support, and Safety Talk. The study is conducted in quantitative design with cross-sectional approach. The population are 60 workers of Area X. The sampling method uses purposive samping formula and results in 37 subjects. Data collecting conducted by inquiries filled by the subjects. Results of statistical test using chi-square, the correlating factors are manner (p-value=0,032), motivation (p-value=0,011), while toe non-correlating factors are age (p-value=0,493), knowledge (p-value=0,866), social support (p-value=0,417), and Safety Talk/Toolbox Meeting (p-value=0,183). The management are suggested to educate the workers by media such as by e-mail, an for Team Leaders in Area X to assist the workers to understand the PSI.

Abstract

Work environment is one of the important factors for workers to improve their productivity. Inadequate working environment can cause health problems. One of these can lead to work-related complaints. The aims of this study to determine the relationship of hygiene and sanitation working environment factors with work-related complaints on home workers in Semarang regency. This was an observational analytic study using cross sectional approach. Population in this study were all home worker in leather shoes industry in Semarang regency. The samples of 66 home workers were taken using stratified random sampling method. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution and Chi-Square test. The results of this study showed that there are some variables that have significant association with work-related complaints with p-value ≤ 0,05 including, length of work, duration of work, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, light intensity, ventilation, and temperature. While the variables of age, body mass index (BMI), medical history, house wall, house floor, and occupancy density did not show significant association with work-related complaints with the p-value > 0,05. The Conclusions of this study were important to maintain hygiene and sanitation factors of the work environment because it can affect work-related complaints that may interfere the health of home workers. Homeworkers should increase the use of PPE, maintain their health condition by doing exercise and pay attention to the working environment conditions.
