Abstract

Globalization makes business competition become increasingly tight, so it takes the company's efforts to compete by improving and maintaining the quality of employee performance. Performance is the result of concrete, observable, and measurable work. Employee performance means an ability to achieve job requirements. In performance there are three factors that can affect one’s performance, those factors are individual factors, psychological factors, and organizational factors. CV. Eterna Garment is a company in the garment industry, this company continues to develop so that the required performance improvement to employees so the quality issued for the market can be guaranteed good. The research aimed to analyze the relationship of individual characteristics, safety leadership, motivation, reward and punishment on employee performance. The type of research used is analytical with cross sectional method. The sample used in this research is 50 employees with total sampling. The data was collected by questionnaire by respondent. Based on the result of research using Chi-Square test showed that the related variables were safety leadership (p = 0,003), motivation (p = 0,028), reward and punishment (p = 0,022). While unrelated variables are age, sex, years of service and education.

Abstract

Kebisingan dapat menyebabkan kecelakaan dan PAK. Upaya pengendalian kebisingan salah satunya adalah pengendalian pada sumber bising dengan pemasangan peredam suara. Sekam padi dan jerami memiliki kandungan lignocellulose dengan sifat penyerapan suara yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pemanfaatan sekam padi dan jerami sebagai peredam suara pada mesin diesel untuk menurunkan kebisingan serta pengaruh pada tekanan darah pekerja sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen menggunakan one group pre-test post-test design. Pengukuran intensitas kebisingan dengan menentukan tiga titik pengukuran. Pada titik 1 mengalami penurunan dari 91,16 dBA menjadi 84,52 dBA (p=0,000), titik 2 turun dari 93,33 dBA menjadi 85,02 dBA (p=0,000) serta titik 3 dari 90,14 dBA turun menjadi 80,89 dBA (p=0,018). Hasil analisa uji beda dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% menghasilkan p < 0,05 untuk semua titik sehingga membuktikan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan. Rata-rata tekanan darah sebelum pemberian peredam mengalami kenaikan dari 131,6/72,8 mmHg menjadi 134,6/75,4 mmHg. Sedangkan setelah pemberian peredam mengalami penurunan dari 128/71 mmHg menjadi 122,2/67,2 mmHg. Hasil analisis paired t-test dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% didapatkan p sistoik = 0,014 dan p diastolik = 0,009 (p < 0,05) membuktikan terdapat perbedaan tekanan darah secara signifikan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa setelah pemberian peredam dari sekam padi dan jerami dapat menurunkan intensitas kebisingan dan tekanan darah pada pekerja usaha penggilingan padi.

Abstract

Job stress is a physical and emotional disturbance as a result of a mismatch between capability, resources, or the needs of workers coming from the work environment. Sandblasting is a method to clean surfaces of contaminant materials such as rust, paint, salt, oil, etc. or to obtain a material profile character for both rough and smoothing, this method is often applied to metal-based surfaces. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between individual characteristics, work intrinsic, and work organization with work stress. This study uses cross sectional study which is a form of observational study and is analytic descriptive. The population of the research was sandblasting workers, amounting to 47 people with sampling method. Work stress was measured using a human-A questionnaire measured subjectively. Statistical analysis using chi-square test. The results showed no relationship between age (p-value = 1,000), education (p-value = 0.648), work period (p-value = 1,000), blood pressure (p-value = 0.362), income (p-value = 0,192), workload (p-value = 0,188), noise (p-value = 1,000), work climate (p-value = 0,141), and social support (p-value = 0,017) with job stress. Companies should redesign the breaks to reduce workload

Abstract

A workplace accident is an unexpected and undesired event that can cause in loss of time, property and casualties occurring within an industrial work process. The highest occupancy rate in the construction sector compared to other sectors accounted for 30% of the total number of accidents. Based on accident report at Project PT. X, minor injury events such as material pinched, injured due to material, work accident on the eyes due to dust that cause minor injuries such as wounds / tears include in the high category. The implementation of Safety Morning Talk and Housekeeping has been carried out regularly, and there should be no workplace accidents. This study aims to analyze the relationship of Worker Characteristic Factors, Safety Morning Talk (SMT) and Housekeeping with minor injury events to workers in the Construction Project of PT.X. Type of this research is analytical by cross sectional method. Samples in this research are 49 from 94 workers with slovin formulas. The sampling technique used proportionate stratified random sampling technique in 3 part of work section. Data is collected by questionnaire and observation checklist for obedience of workers and housekeeping. Based on the results of research by using Partial Least Square (PLS), the dependent variables with enforcement are characteristic of workers and housekeeping, the dependent variables with minor injury are enforcement of workers. Meanwhile, the independent variables with enforcement are Safety Morning Talk. The researchers suggest to the company to create Housekeeping Day and give a reward for workers is an example.

Abstract

Needlestick Injury (NSI) as a wound caused by a needle that accidentally punctures the skin, it can be caused by needles such as hypodermic syringes, blood-taking needles, intravenous stylets, and connecting needles from the intravenous delivery system. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlations between age, sex, years of service, education level, perception of risk, safe working training and nonstandard action with the incidence of needlestick injury on inpatient nurses in X Hospital, Semarang City. The type of this study is a descriptive analytic research with a cross-sectional study model. The sample in this study are  72 nurses inpatient section of X Hospital, Semarang City. The research instrument uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity to determine the age, sex, work period, level of education, and participation in training to work safely and measure risk perceptions and nonstandard actions. The results of this study found that 21 nurses (29.9%) experienced needlestick injury in the last year and showed a corelations between age (sig 0.015), years of service (sig 0.001), and nonstandard action (sig 0.001) with needlestick injury incidence. There was no correlations between sex (sig 0.552), education level (sig 1,000), risk perception (sig 0.625), and work safe training  (sig 0.271) with needlestick injury events. To prevent and reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries the hospital should review the SPO injection by paying more attention to needle recapping and the behavior of the use of safety boxes and reviewing the existing training system to make it more effective and efficient. The hospital should also improve data management regarding NSI to detect and suppress the needlestick injury incidence

Abstract

The construction sector was a sector that contributed to work accidents in Indonesia. Reporting of work accidents that occur by various factors, one awareness. PT.X was a company engaged in construction services. Interviews with foremen, workers' awareness exercised to report work-related accidents were still low. Factors related to awareness of accident work were age, education, work shift, work period, work support and support. The research design used was quantitative with cross-sectional approach. Worker population in PT.X as many as 100 workers. The sampling method used was accidental sampling and result. Data collection used questionnaires. Based on the result of chi-square statistic test, the related variables were education (p-value = 0,021), work shift (p-value = 0,001), and support (p-value = 0,014). The unrelated variables were age (p-value = 0.208, service life (p-value = 0.647), work support (p-value = 0.294).

Abstract

Fatigue is a protective mechanism for the body to avoid damage so that recovery can occur after resting. Workload is the body of the worker in accepting the work. Sleep quality is a person's satisfaction with sleep. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between individual characteristics, workload, quality of sleep with work fatigue on educational personnel. This study uses cross sectional study which is a form of observational study and is analytic descriptive. The sample of this research is 44 person of educational staff with total sampling sampling method. data retrieval of fatigue was measured using reaction timer, physical load using the 10 pulse method with stopwatch, and other variables using questionnaire Statistical analysis using Rank Spearman correlation test. The results showed no relationship between smoking habits (p=0,800) and physical workload (p=0,141) with work fatigue. There is a relationship between years of service (p=0,026), mental burden (p=0,032), and sleep quality (p=0,031) with work fatigue.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are disorders due to injury to muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, cartilage, bones, or blood vessels ranging from complaints of mild to very severe pain. This study aims to analyze individual factors and occupational factors related to the incidence of Musculoskeletal Disorders in songket weavers in Nagari Pandai Sikek, West Sumatra. This research is an analytic observational research with a cross sectional study design. The research sample was songket weavers totaling 70 people. Chi-square analysis showed that age (p-value = 0.005), years of service (p-value = 0.008), history of disease (p-value = 0.001), work duration (p-value = 0.000), and level of ergonomics risk (p-value = 0.002) had significant correlation with Musculoskeletal Disorders.  This study also showed that the complaints most felt by weavers were in the waist (97.1%), back (94.3%), right shoulder (78.6%), bottom (77.1%), and left shoulder (77.1%).

Abstract

Advances in technology have contributed alot to the positive growth in the industrial economy. Work stress is a condition that arises from the interaction between man and his work and is characterized by human change that forces them to deviate from their normal function.Each work can bring its own burdens to workers both physically, mentally and socially. Factors that cause work stress, include the physical state of uncomfortable working environment (noisy, dusty, smelly, hot and humid temperatures), non-ergonomic work stations, workshifts, long working hours, traffic jams on the way to work, high-risk and dangerous jobs, use of new technology, overloading, and adaptation to new types of work.PT Sandang Asia MajuAbadi is an expansive garment industry company so that the working demands on employees are very high for a good quality products to be marketed. This study aims to analyze the correlation of individual characteristics, physical working environment, mental workload, and work fatigue towards the occurrence of work stress. The study is conducted analytically with cross-sectional approach. The samples involved in this study are 108 laundry workers of the company. Data collected by inquiries filled by respondents, physical working environment and work fatigue measurements. According to the result showed by chi-square tests, the correlating variables are mental workload (p=0,001), working climate (p=0,006), noise level (p=0,043), lighting condition (p=0,031).

Abstract

 The development of the COVID-19 case phenomenon affects the education sector, especially the Halu Oleo University campus environment. Learning methods that were previously carried out offline or face-to-face are now carried out by a distance learning process. In addition, the campus also applies "clean and healthy living behavior" in preventing the spread of COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the implementation of COVID-19 prevention at Halu Oleo University. The approach used in this research was qualitative. The data in this study were obtained through in-depth interviews, literature studies, literature reviews from previous studies, books, and others. The results showed that the implementation of COVID-19 prevention was through the stages of an online learning system, monitoring "clean and healthy living behavior", implementing resources, facilities and infrastructure, and evaluating policies, which have been implemented in accordance with the policies set by the campus. However, in the implementation of COVID-19 prevention, there were obstacles, namely: problems with the quality of the internet network for students in remote areas, lack of adaptation to new learning systems, and lack of discipline in preventing COVID-19 in the campus environment.Keywords: COVID-19; clean and healthy living behavior; policyABSTRAK Perkembangan fenomena kasus COVID-19 berpengaruh terhadap sektor pendidikan, terutama lingkungan kampus Universitas Halu Oleo. Metode pembelajaran yang sebelumnya di lakukan secara offline atau tatap muka kini dilakukan proses pembelajaran jarak jauh. Selain itu, pihak kampus juga menerapkan “perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat” dalam mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggali secara mendalam tentang implementasi pencegahan COVID-19 di Universitas Halu Oleo. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, studi kepustakaan, literatur review dari penelitian terdahulu, buku, dan lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pencegahan COVID-19 adalah melalui tahapan sistem pembelajaran online, monitoring “perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat”, sumber daya pelaksana, sarana dan prasarana, serta evaluasi kebijakan, sudah diterapkan sesuai dengan kebijakan yang ditetapkan oleh pihak kampus. Namun, dalam implementasi pencegahan COVID-19, terdapat hambatan yaitu: masalah kualitas jaringan internet bagi mahasiswa di daerah terpencil, kurangnya adaptasi terhadap sistem pembelajaran baru, serta kurangnya disiplin terhadap pencegahan COVID-19 di lingkungan kampus.Kata kunci: COVID-19; perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat; kebijakan
