Abstract

Preventing sexual violence in higher education requires not only formal institutional policies but also students’ psychological and moral capacities to recognize personal boundaries, respond to others’ vulnerability, and engage in collective protective action. However, limited empirical attention has been directed toward the joint roles of self-ownership and self-awareness in predicting university students’ solidarity. This study examined the extent to which self-ownership and self-awareness predict solidarity attitudes among students in the context of sexual violence prevention. The study employed a quantitative correlational design and included 53 of the 62 second-semester students in the accessible population (85.5%) at a university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using four-point Likert-scale instruments measuring self-ownership, self-awareness, and solidarity attitudes and were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the regression model was statistically significant, F = 43.882, p < 0.001, and explained 61.9% of the variance in students’ solidarity attitudes (R² = 0.619). Self-ownership positively predicted solidarity attitudes (B = 0.376, β = 0.279, t = 2.345, p = 0.023), while self-awareness was also a positive predictor and demonstrated a stronger standardized contribution (B = 0.659, β = 0.564, t = 4.734, p < 0.001). These findings indicate that students’ recognition of personal autonomy and their capacity to understand and evaluate internal experiences are associated with stronger solidarity attitudes. The study highlights the importance of integrating bodily autonomy, emotional awareness, and solidarity-oriented education into university-based sexual violence prevention initiatives.

Abstract

The high incidence of antisocial behavior such as bullying and early exposure to social media that affects students' character highlights the urgency of strengthening character education in schools. The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is one of the strategic steps that has begun to be implemented. This study aims to analyze prospective elementary school teachers' perceptions of the implementation of P5. This is a descriptive quantitative research using a survey method. The research subjects in this study were 53 elementary school teacher education students. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students using Google Forms. The data obtained were in the form of scales, as the questionnaires were distributed using a 1-5 Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out by converting quantitative data into qualitative data based on a table of prospective elementary school teachers' perceptions. The analysis results indicate that prospective elementary school teachers have a positive perception of the implementation of P5, categorized as “agree.” They assess P5 as beneficial in enhancing social awareness, cooperation, creativity, and respect for diversity. With this positive response, it is hoped that schools will continue to implement P5, as it has proven effective in shaping students' character in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on the increasing competition among educational institutions and the importance of school reputation in building public trust. This study aims to analyze parents' perceptions of school reputation at SD Muhammadiyah Sapen Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach and survey design, this study involved parents as respondents who assessed several dimensions of school reputation, including teacher quality, facilities, parent involvement, communication, and religious values. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively to determine the level of parental satisfaction with various aspects of school performance. The results show that parents have a very positive perception of the school's reputation, with teacher exemplarity and service quality as the dominant factors. More than 70% of respondents rated teacher professionalism as “very satisfactory,” and more than 80% expressed satisfaction with the school's administrative and information services. High levels of satisfaction were also recorded for indicators such as school facilities, learning comfort, communication services, administration, and extracurricular activities. This study confirms that a school's reputation is built not only through academic achievement but also through moral integrity, effective communication, a supportive learning environment, and strong parental involvement. In addition, religious values and a conducive learning environment were identified as important elements that strengthen the school's public image. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for schools in maintaining a positive reputation and for future researchers in developing studies on educational reputation and parental trust.
