Abstract

The current study investigates predictors of reading abilities of adolescents in Standard Indonesian (SI). Reading predictors typically signify, with some degree of error, essential cognitive skills needed for individuals to read effectively. This is crucial since it forms a key part of the initial steps to assess or identify reading-related language impairments such as dyslexia. In addition to measures of reading itself and nonverbal intelligence, the present research examines six empirically motivated potential predictors of reading and decoding: phonological awareness; phonological short-term memory; verbal and semantic fluency; rapid automated naming (RAN); motor control; familial risk; and, self-reported factors. The results show that RAN is a dominant predictor among the other factors that were considered in adolescent SI speakers. The results also show strong support for the notion that the importance of RAN increases as children age. Moreover, it is consistent with previous studies that have argued that RAN is a vital predictor of reading development in transparent orthographies.

Abstract

Online games have become a mainstream source of entertainment in the world, including Indonesia. The present study uses an adaptation of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to help us understand how online game is accepted in Indonesia. The participants were school students (N = 1 498) from Year 7 to Year 12 recruited from several schools in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. A modified version of the original measures of the TAM was used to assess perceived ease of use and usefulness of online game. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to investigate the construct validity of each measure and path analysis with structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses. The results confirmed the relevance of previous established constructs, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention in an online game setting in Indonesia, as well as the hypothesized relationships among these constructs according to TAM. Furthermore, the good model fit suggests that TAM is a valid and relevant research model to understand online game usage among Indonesian school students. Although further studies are necessary, the results support the notion that online games in the setting of Indonesian school students is just like any other technology in adult and business settings.

Abstract

Inventivitas atau kemampuan untuk berinvensi dan berinovasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang perlu dimiliki lulusan Prodi Sarjana. MBKM pada Prodi Sarjana adalah Program yang ditetapkan Kemendikbudristek tahun 2020. Program yang relatif baru ini masih terus mencari bentuk untuk menjadi perbendaharaan kegiatan yang kaya dan efektif efisien dalam memperoleh capaian pembelajaran. Salah satu program yang telah dilaksanakan di Univ. X adalah MBKM Penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji efektivitas MBKM Penelitian di Univ. X dalam meningkatkan inventivitas mahasiswa. Partisipan penelitian adalah 12 mahasiswa. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimen kuasi, dengan menerapkan Program MBKM Penelitian yang Terintegrasi. Program meliputi 5 tahap pembentukan inventivitas, dirancang oleh Tim Peneliti. Kelima tahap yaitu: tahap pemikiran terhadap persiapan penelitian, tahap pemikiran terhadap kegiatan yang diikuti, tahap focus group discussion terhadap temuan penelitian, tahap perancangan metode lanjutan, tahap evaluasi berkelanjutan. Metode pengumpulan data adalah campuran, kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui kuesioner pengalaman mengikuti MBKM Penelitian, dan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta MBKM Penelitian memiliki kemampuan mempelajari berbagai hal yang ditemui selama penelitian. Inventivitas yang terbangun juga tampak dari karya-karya yang dihasilkan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa MBKM Penelitian yang dijalankan di Univ. X efektif dalam mencapai kompetensi inventivitas mahasiswa. Penyempurnaan masih perlu dilakukan terkait keterampilan mewujudkan invensi mereka dalam bentuk gambar/skema yang mudah dipahami banyak pihak.

Abstract

The influence of technological development brought about a sophisticated concept called IoT or the Internet of Things. In order to keep up with the progress of industrial era 4.0, preparation is needed to improve student competence. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education can improve IoT-related competencies. Collaboration between the use of IoT and STEM learning is expected to help students prepare for the future. Therefore, research on STEM Learning through IoT has been conducted for the last two years. Based on the results of this research, this PKM (Community Service) aims to provide assistance to elementary school teachers in Belitung Regency in the introduction of STEM learning through the implementation of IoT media. The methods in implementing the community service are: (a) data collection through questionnaires, prior to the implementation of Teacher Mentoring, (b) implementation of Teacher Mentoring in the form of lectures on IoT, STEM, and the benefits of STEM learning through IoT, (c) discussions and reflections on the material, (d) QnA session, and (e) data collection after Teacher Mentoring session. Furthermore, the data from the questionnaire was processed using quantitative methods. 75 teachers were assigned to attend this PKM, however, only 72 questionnaire data was collected. The result of the PKM recorded through QnA and questionnaires filled out by the teacher is that this PKM was able to help teachers understand more about the meaning of STEM by IoT. The STEM learning model through IoT is considered by the teachers to be able to provide positive benefits for students. Teachers expect similar materials related to technological advances to be given to students in the future.ABSTRAK:Pengaruh perkembangan teknologi di dunia menghasilkan suatu konsep canggih dengan sebutan IoT atau Internet of Things. Untuk menghadapi kemajuan zaman di era industri 4.0 diperlukan persiapan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa. Pendidikan STEM atau Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics dapat menjadi wadah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi terkait IoT tersebut. Kolaborasi antara pemanfaatan IoT dengan pembelajaran  STEM diharapkan dapat mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi masa depan. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian mengenai Pembelajaran STEM melalui IoT telah dilaksanakan selama dua tahun terakhir. Berbasis hasil penelitian tersebut, PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan guru Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Belitung dalam pengenalan pembelajaran STEM melalui implementasi media IoT. Metode dalam pelaksanaan PKM adalah: (a) pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner, sebelum pelaksanaan Pendampingan Guru, (b) pelaksanaan Pendampingan Guru berupa ceramah mengenai IoT, STEM, dan manfaat pembelajaran STEM melalui IoT, (c ) diskusi dan refleksi mengenai materi yang diperoleh, (d) tanya jawab, (e) pengumpulan data sesudah Pendampingan Guru. Selanjutnya data dari kuesioner diolah dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif.  Guru yang ditugaskan hadir dalam PKM ini adalah 75 orang, namun data kuesioner yang terkumpul adalah 72.  Hasil dari PKM yang terekam melalui tanya jawab dan kuesioner yang diisi oleh guru antara lain, bahwa PKM ini telah dapat membuat para guru menjadi lebih paham arti STEM dengan IoT.  Model pembelajaran STEM melalui IoT ini dinilai guru dapat memberikan manfaat positif bagi pada siswa.  Para guru mengharapkan materi-materi sejenis yang terkait dengan kemajuan teknologi dapat diberikan di kemudian hari.

Abstract

The development of communication technology allows people to interconnected with each other without being limited by distance, space and time. Smartphone is one of the communication tools that is now widely used by everyone as a communication tool between people. And now many companies offer a variety of smartphone products, but it provides difficulties to everyone in choosing the most suitable smartphone for them. Therefore a recommendation system is needed to overcome these difficulties. In this study a smartphone purchase recommendation system was made based on other user ratings, a smartphone brand that uses the collaborative filtering method. This system can recommend a smartphone brand based on the results of the similarity calculation of the users who later one user will be compared to another user then from the comparison results between users searched for the Similarity value that is closest to 1 which means similar.

Abstract

One way to create information services for consumers is to create a website. At this time the website is easily accessible by the public, besides that the website also has many advantages, namely being able to provide information accurately, easily and quickly to be accessed which can help consumers to find out about a product that is needed. Welding workshop business is a business that is much needed by the community. Krisna welding workshop is a workshop engaged in the business of welding services and the manufacture of exterior and interior products that use iron as basic materials. To help make it easier to provide information to consumers and help process reports, a web-based application design is made for ordering iron-based exterior and interior products at a krisna welding workshop. The method that will be used to design this application is to use the waterfall method. Using the waterfall method so that the design made can be more structured because the waterfall method has stages that can make the flow of this design run more optimally. And of course the transaction can run smoothly, and the flow of the transaction process can be well structured.

Abstract

Atensi dapat bergeser dengan sangat cepat dari satu hal ke hal berikutnya, dan oleh karena itu atensi dapat didiskusikan menjadi orientasi overt yaitu tindakan selektif pada suatu item dengan menggerakkan mata ke titik ke arah itu, dan orientasi covert mampu mengalihkan fokus secara mental tanpa menggerakan mata. Pergerakan mata ini dapat menjadi indikasi untuk mengamati atensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi atensi dalam proses membaca bagi siswa sekolah menengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain posttest only one group design dan melibatkan 3 peserta kelas 1 dan kelas 3 SMA. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah webcam dengan perangkat lunak GazeRecorder  sebagai alternatif eyetracker yang telah digunakan dalam proses uji coba awal. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk mendapatkan profil perhatian siswa SMA dengan menggunakan video monitoring dan analisis korelasional untuk mendapatkan data perbedaan daya dan tingkat kesulitan alat ukur yang dikembangkan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa atensi dalam membaca dapat diidentifikasi secara efektif melalui teknologi pelacak mata (gazerecorder). Attention can shift very quickly from one thing to the next, and therefore attention can be discussed as overt orientation i.e. selective action on an item by moving the eye to a point in that direction, and covert orientation being able to mentally shift focus without moving the eye. This eye movement can be an indication to observe attention. The purpose of this study was to identify attention in the reading process for high school students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a posttest only one group design and involved 3 participants in grade 1 and grade 3 high school. The equipment used is a webcam with GazeRecorder software as an alternative to the eyetracker that has been used in the initial trial process. Descriptive analysis was used to obtain the attention profile of high school students by using video monitoring and correlational analysis to obtain data on the difference in power and the level of difficulty of the measuring instrument developed. The results of the study indicate that attention in reading can be identified effectively through eye tracking technology (gazerecorder).

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) telah disosialisasikan terutama kepada dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Tarumanagara, sejak ditetapkan oleh Kemendikbudristek pada bulan Januari 2020.  Kurikulum MBKM ini juga telah diimplementasikan selama lebih dari 1,5 tahun di Universitas Tarumanagara sejak semester ganjil 2020/2021.  Pada akhir tahun 2021, Ditjen Diktiristek menugaskan 110 Perguruan Tinggi Swasta termasuk Universitas Tarumanagara, untuk melaksanakan penelitian mengenai kebijakan MBKM. Satu Tim Peneliti ditugaskan oleh Universitas Tarumanagara melaksanakan tugas dari Ditjen Diktiristek tersebut. Dalam pelaksanaan tugas ini, penelitian juga ditujukan untuk memahami perspektif dosen, mahasiswa, dan tenaga kependidikan (tendik) terhadap kebijakan dan implementasi MBKM tersebut.  Partisipan penelitian adalah dosen, mahasiswa, dan tendik Universitas Tarumanagara. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei elektronik yang dirancang, dan disebarluaskan oleh Ditjen Diktiristek melalui SPADA (Sistem Pembelajaran Daring). Data yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah data pada tanggal 23 Desember 2021 yang diberikan oleh Ditjen Diktiristek kepada LPPM (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) Universitas Tarumanagara, terdiri atas 298 dosen, 3.994 mahasiswa, dan 136 tendik Universitas Tarumanagara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 50% dosen, mahasiswa, dan tendik mengetahui sebagian besar isi kebijakan MBKM, terutama melalui sosialisasi yang dilaksanakan oleh perguruan tinggi. Lebih dari 50% partisipan memilih Sosialisasi Kemendikbud, Kanal Perguruan Tinggi, dan Sosialisasi Perguruan Tinggi sebagai tiga media informasi yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai MBKM. Partisipan menyatakan bahwa kedelapan kegiatan MBKM sudah ada sebelumnya.  Lebih dari 50% partisipan menjawab dua semester untuk melaksanakan kegiatan MBKM di luar perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat dinyatakan bahwa sekitar 50% dosen, mahasiswa, dan tendik di Universitas Tarumanagara telah memiliki perspektif yang sejalan dengan Kebijakan MBKM yang telah ditetapkan oleh Kemendikbudristek. Diskusi-diskusi di tingkat dosen merekomendasikan kemandirian dalam menjalankan MBKM bagi perguruan tinggi yang dinilai mampu oleh Kemendikbudristek.The Kampus Merdeka Independent Learning Curriculum (MBKM) has been socialized, specifically to lecturers and students of Universitas Tarumanagara since its stipulation by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology in 2020. This curriculum was also implemented for more than 1.5 years at Universitas Tarumanagara, from the beginning of semester 2020/2021.  At the end of 2021, the Directorate General of Higher Education assigned 110 private universities, including Tarumanagara University, to conduct research regarding MBKM policies. One Research Team was assigned by Universitas Tarumanagara to fulfill the task assigned by the Directorate General of Higher Education and Research and Technology, as well as to understand the perspectives of lecturers, students, and education staff on the MBKM policy and implementation. Research participants include lecturers, students, and staff at Tarumanagara University. Data was collected through an electronic survey designed and administered by the Directorate General of Higher Education and Research and Technology through SPADA (Online Learning System). The data used in this paper is from December 23, 2021 which was handed by the Directorate General of Higher Education and Research and Technology to the LPPM (Institute for Research and Community Service) of Universitas Tarumanagara, consisting of 298 lecturers, 3,994 students, and 136 staff of Universitas Tarumanagara. The result shows that about 50% of lecturers, students, and staff knew most of the contents of the MBKM policy, especially through socialization carried out by the university. More than 50% of participants chose Socialization by the Ministry of Education and Culture, University Channel, and Socialization by the University as the three information media that can improve the understanding of MBKM. Participants stated that the eight MBKM activities had existed before. More than 50% of participants chose to dedicate 2 semesters to carry out MBKM activities outside university activities. Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that about 50% of the lecturers, students, and staff at Universitas Tarumanagara already possess a perspective that is in line with the MBKM Policy that has been set by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology. Discussions among the lecturers recommended independence in implementing MBKM for universities deemed capable by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kolaboratif dan partisipatif merupakan salah satu indikator keberhasilan utama (IKU) yang dipersyaratkan untuk menilai ketercapaian pelaksanaan MBKM. Kegiatan penelitian ini berbasis projek (team-based project) yaitu kegiatan proyek lapangan yang dilakukan sesuai setting sebenarnya, bukan kegiatan di dalam kelas. Tujuan penelitian untuk melihat dampak psikologis pembelajaran kolaboratif dan partisipatif berpengaruh sebelum dan setelah melaksanakan proyek. Konsep teori yaitu kesiapan berubah (readiess to change) dan passion. Dimensi kesiapan berubah terdiri change of efficacy, ketepatan berubah, dukungan manajemen, manfaat pribadi dan dimensi passion terdiri dari harmony passion dan obsessive passion. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan jumlah sampel 6 mahasiswa UNTAR dan diambil data pre-test, post-test dan wawancara. Pengolahan data menggunakan korelasi dan compare mean t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi hubungan kuat dan signifikan antara pre-test, post-test pada kesiapan berubah dan passion. khususnya pada dimensi-dimensi ketepatan melakukan perubahan, change of efficacy dan harmony passion. Namun hasil perbedaan rata-rata menunjukkan signifikan hanya pada change of efficacy. Kesimpulan penelitian memperlihatkan dampak psikologis change of efficacy terjadi pada mahasiswa yang melakukan implementasi pembelajaran kolaboratif dan partisipatif di kabupaten Belitung. Mahasiswa meyakini proyek yang dilakukannya memberikan dampak perubahan pada masyarakat. Keyakinan diri mahasiswa yang relatif kuat sebelum dilaksanakan proyek dan menjadi semakin bertambah kuat setelah selesai proyek dilaksanakan. Saran penelitian selanjutnya dilakukan beberapa kali proyek kegiatan untuk mempertahankan konsistensi data.Collaborative and participatory learning is one of the main success indicators (IKU) required to assess the achievement of MBKM implementation. This research activity is project-based (team-based project), namely field project activities carried out according to the actual setting, not activities in the classroom. The aim of the research is to see the psychological impact of collaborative and participatory learning before and after implementing the project. The theoretical concepts used are readiness to change and passion. The changing dimension consists of changes in efficacy, changes in accuracy, management support, personal benefits and the passion dimension consists of harmony passion and obsessive passion. The research method used a quasi-experimental with a sample of 6 UNTAR students and pre-test, post-test and interview data were taken. Processing of data using correlation and comparing the mean t-test. The results showed that there was a strong and significant relationship between pre-test, post-test on readiness to change and passion. especially on the dimensions of accuracy in making changes, changes in efficacy and passion for harmony. However, the results of the mean difference showed significant only in the change in success. The conclusion of this research is the impact of psychological impact on efficacy changes that occur in students who implement collaborative and participatory learning in Belitung district. Students believe in projects that have a changing impact on society. Students' self-confidence is relatively strong before the project is implemented and becomes stronger after the project is completed. Subsequent research suggests several project activities to maintain data.

Abstract

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) adalah suatu program yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia (Kemendikbudristek RI) sejak tahun 2020. Universitas Tarumanagara telah berkomitmen dalam menerapkan program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) sebagai bagian dari kurikulum sejak tahun 2020. Sejalan dengan kebijakan MBKM, upaya Kemendikbudristek menjaga mutu Perguruan Tinggi adalah dengan menggunakan Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU). Salah satu sub indikator yang keberhasilan terdapat pada IKU-7, yaitu mahasiswa terlibat dalam kelas yang kolaboratif dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat dampak implementasi kelas kolaboratif dan partisipatif pada mahasiswa yang teribat dalam MBKM, khususnya dalam bentuk Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) di Kabupaten Belitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yaitu qualitative descriptive dengan pendekatan participatory ethnography. Peneliti terdiri atas 7 dosen dan 6 mahasiswa pelaksana 3 PKM di Kabupaten Belitung. Partisipan yang menjadi sasaran  penelitian ini adalah  6 Mahasiswa MBKM yang terlibat dalam Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode observasi dan wawancara sebelum, selama, dan sesudah pelaksanaan acara PKM di Kabupaten Belitung. Penelitian menghasilkan tiga temuan dalam aspek kognitif yaitu: (a) kegiatan pembelajaran kolaboratif dan partisipatif meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa MKBM mengenai pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat; (b) meningkatkan kemampuan analisis pada mahasiswa; dan (c) meningkatkan kemampuan dalam hal problem solving pada mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai gambaran dampak pelaksanaan MBKM, dan selanjutnya dapat menjadi rekomendasi untuk peningkatan MBKM di perguruan tinggi swasta.
