Abstract

This study aims to examine the basis for judges' considerations in imposing criminal sanctions on Decision Number 10/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PT DKI, as well as reviewing the application of criminal sanctions against perpetrators in Decision Number 10/Pis.Sus-TPK/2021/PT DKI reviewed under progressive law. The research was carried out by applying normative legal research methods, using statutory, conceptual and case approaches. From the results of the research, it shows that both the juridical and non-juridical considerations above, the authors consider that the basis for the judge's considerations is not in accordance with the principle of equality before the law and does not consider the status of the defendant as a law enforcer but instead commits a criminal act of corruption. In the concept of progressive law, judges can actually be more flexible in giving decisions, namely by making discoveries or breakthroughs related to what according to him is currently irrelevant. However, the application of the non-criminal sanction against Attorney Pinangki in Decision Number 10/Pis.Sus-TPK/2021/PT DKI if viewed based on progressive law has not been fulfilled. Because the reduction in prison sentences by the Panel of Judges was not matched by an increase in fines, and in considering the imposition of criminal sanctions, the Panel of Judges only seemed to focus on the gender status of the accused.

Abstract

Aluminum alloys are vital in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing due to their strength, lightweight, and corrosion resistance. To enhance their mechanical performance and energy efficiency, advanced methods like severe plastic deformation (SPD) have been explored, with equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) proving effective in refining grain structures and improving material properties. ECAP was applied to the AA5XXX series aluminum alloy using a fixed-section die with a mold groove angle of 105°  and a curve angle of 75º, while keeping the cross-sectional dimensions of the specimen constant. Route C was employed, involving a variable number of passes. Subsequently, the results of the ECAP process were further enhanced through a 50% reduction roll process. A significant increase in strength and hardness was observed when comparing the combination of ECAP and 50% rolling with ECAP alone. The mechanical properties increased by 58.11% for the first pass, 58.66% for the second pass, 58.92% for the third pass, and 59.19% for the fourth pass. Grain refinement also exhibited substantial improvement in this combined process, with increases of 68.18% for the first pass, 77.59% for the second pass, 85.71% for the third pass, and 87.38% for the fourth pass. Pure ECAP yielded a maximum strength of 251 MPa and a hardness of 78.43 HB, while the combination of ECAP with 50% rolling achieved a maximum strength of 277 MPa and a hardness of 86.17 HB. This research successfully increased tensile strength and hardness while altering the microstructure grain size morphology.

Abstract

Philosophical studies of science in Western and Islamic traditions have been widely discussed; however, research that specifically analyzes the fundamental differences in the sources, methods, and aims of knowledge between these two civilizations remains limited. This study aims to identify the fundamental differences in the ontological foundations (the nature of the existence of knowledge), epistemological foundations (sources and means of acquiring knowledge), and axiological foundations (values and purposes of knowledge) within the framework of Western and Islamic philosophy of science. The study employs a comparative analytical method on key concepts in the philosophy of science by examining the relationships between sources of knowledge, the operation of reason and empirical experience, and the value orientations that underlie the aims of scientific development in each tradition. The findings indicate that the Western perspective tends to be dominated by secularism, characterized by the separation of knowledge from religious values, an emphasis on reason and the senses as the primary sources of knowledge, and an orientation of scientific aims toward material progress and the fulfillment of worldly needs. Conversely, in the Islamic perspective, the philosophy of science is grounded in the principle of tauhid, which integrates knowledge with religious teachings; the sources of knowledge encompass not only reason and the senses but also Al-Qur'an and Hadis as the highest sources of truth and guides for human thought, with a more holistic orientation aimed at understanding the greatness of Allah SWT, attaining well-being in this world and the hereafter, and forming morally virtuous human beings. In conclusion, these differences in ontological, epistemological, and axiological frameworks demonstrate that although both traditions produce knowledge, their philosophical foundations and ultimate goals are markedly distinct, thereby providing a more comprehensive understanding of the position and function of knowledge in Western and Islamic civilizations.

Abstract

Air tank dust collectors are essential for safeguarding air quality and operational safety in industrial environments. Nevertheless, these systems are highly susceptible to hazards arising from abnormal pressure and temperature conditions. This study employs Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) to systematically identify and evaluate risks associated with air tanks in dust collection equipment. Conducted within an industrial setting, the analysis highlights that excessive pressure and elevated temperatures can result in severe outcomes, including fires, explosions, and mechanical failure. To mitigate these risks, the study recommends the installation of safety valves, integration of advanced pressure and temperature sensors, and implementation of rigorous maintenance schedules. The findings confirm that HAZOP provides a structured framework for detecting potential hazards and developing preventive measures, thereby enhancing reliability and safety in industrial operations. This research contributes to the broader field of industrial risk management by demonstrating the effectiveness of HAZOP in addressing critical safety challenges related to pressure and temperature control.

Abstract

Nahdlatul Ulama Cadre Education (PKPNU) is one of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) cadre regeneration activities to instill Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah values. Ideologically, it is a concrete step to form qualified cadres with organizational governance skills and as one of the capitals in developing NU to be an increasingly efficient organization. PKPNU is manifested throughout Indonesia, where some regions have different characteristics. In Banten, PKPNU is managed by NU cadres as the reference for Ulama Qhos, or charismatic kyai—supported by cadres or santri trusted by the charismatic ulama throughout Banten. All activities are organized by a committee approved by PCNU in Banten Region because the speakers come from charismatic kyai recommended by PCNU in Banten Region. It differs from other regions as one presenter is Rais Syuriah of PCINU in the Russian Federation and the Northern European Region. It distinguishes the PKPNU program from other regions because there is a very progressive addition to the content of PKPNU material, one of which is often conveyed in the preamble, namely the preparation of the Nahdliyin generation in facing the global challenges of the industrial revolution 4-5.

Abstract

The presidential threshold in Indonesia, requiring political parties or coalitions to secure at least 20% of parliamentary seats or 25% of valid votes to nominate presidential candidates, has long sparked debate over the constitution. Critics contend that this requirement operates as a structural barrier that limits citizens' political rights and consolidates oligarchic dominance. This study examines the abolition of the presidential threshold following the Constitutional Court's Decision No. 62/PUU-XXII/2024, which annulled Article 222 of the 2017 Election Law. Employing a normative juridical and comparative approach, the research analyzes constitutional principles, judicial reasoning, and electoral practices in selected democracies, including France and the United States. The analysis demonstrates that removing the presidential threshold broadens political participation, enhances inclusivity, and fosters fairer democratic competition by reducing the dominance of major parties. Although the absence of a threshold may increase the number of candidates and the likelihood of run-off elections, such consequences can be mitigated through appropriate institutional design. Normatively, this study concludes that abolishing the presidential threshold is constitutionally justified and necessary to fully realize citizens' political rights and democratic sovereignty in Indonesia.

Abstract

Generator rooms require strict environmental monitoring to ensure operational safety, as uncontrolled temperature and gas concentration conditions may pose risks of fire and workplace accidents. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)–based generator room monitoring system capable of automatically and real-time monitoring temperature, humidity, and gas levels, with notifications delivered via a Telegram bot. The research method adopts a systematic approach through prototype development. The system utilizes DHT22 and MQ-2 sensors, a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a buzzer, and is integrated with the Telegram Bot API. The testing results demonstrate that the device is able to responsively monitor environmental parameters, transmit real-time data to Telegram, activate the relay with a response time of 4–5 seconds, and provide automatic notifications when gas concentrations exceed safe thresholds with a delay of 1–2 seconds. Evaluation of the monitoring functionality and sensor data visualization through the Telegram application indicates that all sensor information is successfully displayed via the Telegram bot interface. Although data transmission from the sensors to the Telegram application is highly dependent on network connection stability, the experimental results show that the system is capable of delivering data with optimal response time.
