Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of diversification of exports on economic growth in the ASEAN. The sample used in this study is the eight member countries of ASEAN for the period 2006-2014. The dependent variable is the growth of income per capita, while the independent variable which is based on the theory of Solow growth include number of workers, total of investment and export diversification index. The Observations are estimated using pooled least square. Based on these results, the majority of ASEAN countries have positive relation between export diversification index and the growth of income per capita. At times of crisis, the export diversification index in the ASEAN is no longer a positive impact on national income which is shown by the negative coefficient on the dummy variable interaction between the global crisis of 2008 with an export diversification index.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to identified export supply growth of China’s natural rubber, analyzed factors of influenced export supply of Indonesian natural rubber to China, and also analyze the export growth strategic of Indonesian natural rubber. The description method is used to identified marketgrowth in Indonesian natural rubber. The second purposes answered by multiple linier regression with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Export growth stategic have been analyzed by SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). Based on The OLS result, variabel which make infuence for export supply of Indonesian natural rubber in China export price of Indonesian natural rubber to Chinain previous years, The world rice of synthetic rubber, GDP of China, lag export volume of Indonesian natural rubber to China. The growth strategic for increase Indonesian market in China are increase Indonesian natural rubber productivity. Abstract

Abstract

Palm oil becomes Indonesia's leading agricultural commodity which is inseparable from competition with CPO producers from other countries. PT Perkebunan Nusantara V (PTPN-V) is a state-owned company engaged in palm oil plantation and processing palm oil fresh fruit into crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (palm kernel). One of the 12 palm oil processing units of PTPN-V is the Sei Galuh Palm Oil Mill (PKS SGH), in the past 5 years the plant has the lowest performance compared to 12 other factories. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the supply chain of PKS SGH and performance improvement strategy of supply chain management at the PKS SGH through SCOR-AHP approach. The result shows that supply chain strategy in this research is to run lean supply chain strategy because the output is a functional product. So the strategy applied was should low cost strategy (efficient). The result of performance measurements obtained matrix order fulfillment, quality conformity, processing cycle time, and employee costs is “good”. Then, matrix order fulfillment time, flexibility of capacity increase and cash to cash cycle is “average”; while matrix supply flexibility and cost of processing were obtained “poor” results. Keywords: supply chain, SCOR, AHP, crude palm oil (CPO), PTPN-V

Abstract

Production risk and price risk are problems that are often faced by coconut farmers. This is illustrated by the price and production instability faced by farmers, which will then have an impact on income and decision making in production and work allocation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of changes in the level of production risk and price on the behavior of farmer households in coconut farming production decisions. This research was conducted in Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province with a total of 200 farmers as respondents. The production function and the risk function were analyzed using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, while the farmer household economic model which was built using the simultaneous equation would be analyzed using the Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method. The results of the risk function analysis show that the risk of coconut production is directly proportional to the use of salt and herbicides. Land area, use of salt, herbicides and labor have a significant and positive effect on coconut production. The simulation results show an increased risk of negative impacts on the economy of coconut farmers' households. Keywords: production risk, price risk, household economy, coconut farmers

Abstract

Indonesia requires foreign investment to meet the capital needs of the food industries. On the other hand, foreign presence can cause high industrial concentration. This paper analyzes the effect of foreign presence on the concentration of the food industry in Indonesia using panel data from 28 subsectors in the period 2011-2015. The data used is the annual Large and Medium Industries Survey (IBS) data from Statistics Indonesia. The concentration indicators used are the concentration ratio (CR4) and the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI). By using panel regression, the result shows that foreign presence has a positive influence on the concentration of the food industry in Indonesia. Besides, the economies of scale and market size also significantly influence the concentration of the food industry. The result indicates that the government investment policy must endorse more competition among firms.JEL Classification Code: L66, L16 How to Cite:Nauly, D., Harianto., Hartoyo, S., & Novianti, T. Abstract

AbstractThis article investigates the impact of sea and air transportation cost, as well as infrastructure quality, to Indonesia’s import. Employing a panel regression model to seek for the answer, the paper find that cost reduction for sea transportation has greater impact on the Indonesia’s import volume compared to the air transportation. This paper also finds that Indonesia’s infrastructure quality has a significant positive impact on Indonesia’s import. The quality of ports, roads, and Linear Connectivity International Shipping (LSCI) are significant factors affecting import volume by sea transportation mode. Meanwhile, import volume by air transportation is significantly affected by the quality of the roads and airports.Keyword: Transportation costs, sea and air transportation infastructure qualities, volume of importJEL classification numbers: D24, H54, F13AbstrakPaper ini menyelidiki pengaruh biaya transportasi laut dan udara dan kualitas infrastruktur erhadap impor Indonesia.
