Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Experiential Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di SDN 46 Bengkalis. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran abad 21. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) menggunakan model nonequivalent kontrol group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model Experiential Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan lembar refleksi berpikir. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, baik dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah maupun berpikir reflektif siswa. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model Experiential Learning berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan dua kemampuan tersebut. Dengan demikian, model Experiential Learning dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran IPS yang efektif untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan reflektif siswa di sekolah dasar. Model Experiential Learning merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik dengan menekankan pada pengalaman langsung, refleksi, dan penerapan konsep dalam kehidupan nyata. Melalui pendekatan ini, siswa diajak untuk lebih aktif, berpikir kritis, serta membangun pengetahuan secara mandiri berdasarkan pengalaman yang mereka alami selama proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The study is intended to improve writing skills on the fourth grade of primary school (SDN) 007 bangkinang, using contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approaches. This type of research is a collaborative class action study. Research design using the models of kemmis and robin McTaggart that include: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study is carried out in two cycles. The subject of this study is the fourth graders of 007 bangkinang who numbered 22 students. The instruments used were the test of writing and observation ability. The technical data analysis is the quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The results of the study on the improvement of the decomposition skills using a CTL approach in the fourth grade of 007 should be a 2024/2025 state student before applying the 20/2025 rating of the student's starting point of view before applying the CTL rating of the value of writing an essay of 65.66, on the I cycle increasing to 69.04 and on cycle ii increasing to 75.40. CTL approach application measures to the study are: 1) constructing a student's knowledge with a q and a, 2) conducting an incubation activity by making direct observations of the school environment, 3) developing a student's curiosity by asking, 4) creating a learning community by forming a study group, 5) presenting a model as a learning group, and 6) Conduct an assessment of the student writing results.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan anak usia dini melalui pelatihan kepada guru dalam memanfaatkan limbah kertas menjadi matrat sebagai mainan edukatif. Permasalahan mitra, TK Aisyiyah Sumpadang, adalah keterbatasan alat permainan edukatif serta belum optimalnya pemanfaatan limbah kertas di lingkungan sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pelatihan guru, praktik pembuatan matrat dari limbah kertas, pendampingan implementasi di kelas, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang media pembelajaran ramah lingkungan. Penggunaan matrat dalam kegiatan bermain berdampak pada peningkatan keterampilan motorik, kreativitas, dan kemampuan sosial anak. Abstract

Classroom observations at SMAN 1 Kuok indicated that many eleventh-grade students have difficulty identifying adjectives in descriptive texts and often confuse them with other word classes, such as nouns and verbs. This challenge negatively affects their reading comprehension and descriptive writing skills. Based on this issue, the research question of this study is: How is the students’ mastery on identifying adjectives in descriptive text at XI grade students of SMAN 1 Kuok? The purpose of this study was to analyze students’ mastery on identifying adjectives in descriptive text at XI grade students at SMAN 1 Kuok. This research applied a qualitative descriptive approach, using a written test and an unstructured teacher interview as instruments. The test asked students to identify adjectives in a descriptive passage, classify their type, and explain their function. The teacher interview provided insight into students’ learning experiences, strategies used in teaching adjectives, and observed learning obstacles. The test results showed that only 3 out of 18 students (16.7%) reached the “Excellent” level, while 11 students (61.1%) were in the “Very Poor” category. Many students failed to differentiate adjectives from other parts of speech and lacked confidence in answering the test. From the teacher’s interview, it was revealed that although adjectives had been taught previously, students still showed low understanding in practical application. The teacher also noted that students were more familiar with adjectives in Bahasa Indonesia and recommended using contextual and visual learning strategies to support comprehension. This study highlights the need for improved vocabulary instruction, especially in the context of identifying adjectives within descriptive texts.
